1. I am looking into that link as I type this
2. yep, and here are the above pics properties ....
3. You have to enter a publicly accessible web location such as those in PhotoBucket. here's an example... http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/SilvrT/KrusinKootenays/S6301713.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/SilvrT/KrusinKootenays/S6301713.jpg
4. I had over 22,000 kilometers (13,670 miles) on my stock D404 when I swapped it out and it wasn't even down to the wear bars. Granted, these bikes speedo's are out of whack but most who report tire mileage probably don't have the speedo healer. Personally, I can't understand how some folks are getting such poor mileage ... wonder what kind of roads you travel on... what air pressure you run...?? 'nuther q ... how often do you do burnouts ??
5. try Spybot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/ also, try installing Avast http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
6. S S S S SWEEEET !
7. I looked into putting a 170 tire on and according to a member who has done it, you have to grind away appx 1/4 inch from a specific area on the fender bracket. I decided not to go ahead with it at this time but may still do it sometime in the future. One thing at a time and I want to install the levelling links next. Considering that they raise the bike by appx 1 inch, this might circumvent the need to grind away some of the bracket.
8. One of our members... Pecker ... has done this I can provide you with the info and pics if you can't reach him.
9. Thanks M8 ... read that one a while back. Good article. I Googled Valkyrie and found an article comparison 1999 RSV vs 1999 Valk Interstate. Was very interesting; however, there was more writeup on the RSV yet the Valk had the edge overall. I'll be going out to see this Valk on the weekend. Depending on how it checks out and if the guy will let me test drive it, my '06 may come available.
10. Guys/gals ... I'm contemplating buying a Valk. The one I'm looking at is Red/Black, has 23,000 miles (yes miles as it was imported to Canada from the US 3 yrs ago), has new rubber, new battery, mustang seat with driver backrest, passenger floorboards, a few chrome goodies. Looks very clean from the pics and the price is $10,500 Canadian. Any feedback would be appreciated. What mechanical things should I be concerned about with these bikes? (could I join the Wing section then? ) EDIT: Guess I'd better learn to spell Valkyrie properly eh? LOL
11. I had XM when I had the '87. The radio died. Got a Sirius Stratus 5 coz I like the design of the radio. For the most part, I like it but would prefer a directly wired power connector. I used the vent mounts from the car kit to hook mine up... been just fine for a year and a half. Thought the unit had died about a month ago so I called Sirius and they sent me out a new unit. Then I discovered it was just a loose power connection so I called them and told them and they just said... send the new one back (at their expense) as they'd already provided me with return shipping for the old one.
12. dang.... I saw the title and my heart skipped a beat .... MEAN MEAN SCARY heading!!!!
13. apparently not.... :rasberry:
14. Wasn't so much that I wanted to buy or install a vent... was just wondering about them so that when I purchase my Clearview, I can decide whether or not to get it with the vent. But thanks for the link anyway... maybe someone else might want to install a vent.
15. ummm... In his defense, wasn't him that was wrong... he doesn't have one... he was just passin info along that his buddies told him. I have no idea who these "buddies" are. I'm hopin to see him in Aug so I'll be sure to pass along what my buddies have told me.
16. Well, I guess ya'll have convinced me that those guys were full of it! Thanks!
17. I am always careful not to get water on the dash area when I wash the scoot nor would I like to get bug guts, etc down the inside crack of the windshield. Wouldn't your suggestion defeat that?
18. Was talking to brother-in-law yesterday (also a biker) about Clearview with vent and he was telling me a lot of his buddies who have them say they don't like the vent because they get road dirt 'n bugs commin thru them, they're a real PITA to clean, and when it's hot out, all yer gettin is more hot air. What say ye all those who have these?
19. That was gonna be my Q also ... you have to rev these scoots. If you shift too soon and then try and crank it on, it will bog down on ya ... cough..sputter...
20. As an added thought, I'm curious to know which programs are being reported as they will not work? It almost sounds to me like some spyware has gotten into your computer and if you followed a link that these messages are pointing to for the IE8 upgrade, you may actually have downloaded something you shouldn't have. The name on the file looks a bit suspiscious to me and that's what is giving me this "feeling". IE8 should only come from the Microsoft download site.
21. There was a link to another vid and at the end of it was an excavator taking down an old building... in the process, the outer walls fell into the street. That was right here in Vancouver just a couple days or so ago!
22. another option is Maxthon ... http://www.maxthon.com/ I've been using it for at leasst 10 years. Never have a problem with it. As for the file you downloaded, it is probably corrupt or it may even be the wrong file. I went to Microsoft's download site and the file name for WinXP is IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe
23. here of course... that's a given! nice trike!!!
24. yup... the key word is practise... 'nuther one is persistence. Every bike has it's own feel and when it is "new to you", you have to ride it and experiment and get a "feel" for it and eventually you become ONE with it. With these bikes, an adjustment here, a change there, etc (tire & shock air pressure, different tires, leveling links, etc) all affect how the bike feels and with a little practise and experimentation you will find that you can handle this bike as good as most others. enjoy !
