Fuzzy ... THANKS FOR POSTING THIS It has acted as a reminder that I need to get mine checked as I have had a hearing problem too for quite a long time. When I am in with several people, all talking, I can't make out what any of them are saying... it's all just a big BUZZ of noise to me. huh?

Well, you do whatever you feel OK with. As I said in my prev post.... I wouldn't and you asked the Q ... seems you already have your own answer. I guess the way I look at it is ... why would Yamaha recommend 10w30 for temps ranging from 10 degrees F to over 90 F ??? I use 10w40 this time of year and in the winter I swap it out to something less than 10 just because it is easier on the engine for cold starting .... Having said that, I suppose someone will concur with you and that is not to say that I disagree either.

So, we stopped at a 7-11 store the other day while Nina quickly ran in to get something (she does do that quickly sometimes LOL). Now this is a small strip-mall area with parking adjacent to the street and a "drive-thru" space that is fairly wide. Along the curb in front of the stores is clearly painted (in several places) "NO PARKING". The primary reason is that if someone parks there, it is difficult to get your vehicle out of the designated parking spots. All the spots were filled and sure enough, someone parks their car at the curbside. We are on the scoot so I pulled up behind that vehicle, close to the curb and sat there with engine running waiting for Nina. About then someone is trying to back out of a stall and of all the vehicles he could be driving... a late 70's, early 80's Caddy (big long sukkah) and he could't get out due to the car at the curb. So I get off the bike and go into the various stores trying to find the owner of the car at the curb. Out comes this little old lady about 99 years old (she owns the car at the curb)... she just stands there and doesn't know what to do. Finally, Nina gets her to realize she has to get in her car and move it... so she inches forward a bit and the guy in the caddy gets his car out and leaves. Now remember, I am still on the bike at the curb but, I am angled a bit so I couldn't back up much .... and the old lady starts backing up... because she wanted to get her car into that spot. I'm BLASTING my Stebel, Nina and a couple others are trying to get her to stop going in reverse...and she's about to ram me ... and I had no escape route. Finally she stops backing up and by that time, another parking spot a bit further on came open and she went into it. She told Nina that she didn't see me (of course). Man-oh-man ... I was sweating there for a few minutes...bracing myself for the impact (even though she wasn't going very fast) ....

I'd suggest that he looked to the left first, didn't see you, then looked to the right and saw nothing and started moving out .... but chances are he'd have had to look again to the left, considering that he was making a left, and would have seen you .... BUT ... maybe not... it's all speculation and better to have the BADBOYZ BLARIN.

Depends on temperatures in your area. I wouldn't at this time here in Vancouver as it's still too warm (geeesh... did I actually say that? LOL) ... IMHO

Priority cable?? .... Dunno what that means Jack... I've been working with Dell products for many years and their cables don't appear any different than any other "clone" PC. Is this some kinda special Video card / monitor that came with the PC? I looked up the Dell XPS400 online and it doesn't appear out of the ordinary. Is it using a DVI cable maybe? One thing I did read is... (The bad: No HDTV capabilities; wired mouse and keyboard; no dual graphics card upgrade path.)

Do a search on the net for driver software for the monitor ... maybe even on Dell's site as the video card is probably one of theirs. Check this site... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5076897#N152

Considering where we live in relation to you, I guess you could say we are "UP there" .... and yes, we do like you... so be careful out there (and that applies to everyone here)! Glad you only lost some "Living cr@p " on that one!

Wrap some emery paper around a long drillbit and "hone" them out. Make sure you wrap the emery in the right direction LOL (don't ask how I know that) Also, when putting the hub pins back in, insert, pull out, rotate one, insert again, etc etc until you find the "spot" where they slide in the easiest. There's a writeup about this in here somewhere...

Goose... I was razzing you in my other post but just FYI, your explanations of things such as the above are, by far, the most thorough and easiest to understand of any. Thanks!!

If you're in 5th and applying power and at 50mph, you're lugging the engine ... get it into 4th or even 3rd. These engines are designed to run at higher rpm's ... that is where the power band is. Heck, you can get to 100mph in 3rd on these things (so some say... not me tho ... ) -

That's too low of a speed to be in 5th ... you should be in at least 4th or even 3rd. -
There is a writeup somewhere for changing the links. I tried changing the front tire to a narrow one ... (130) and it helps for the low speed stuff but it's not so good at speed so I put the levelling links on and went back to stock front tire .... this, in my opinion, is the BEST way to go to cure/improve low speed handling as well as marked improvement in handling in the twisties. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60704 If you do a search for "levelling links" you will find lots of info, including where to get them and/or make them yourself.

Mine are light tan-colored .... (I wonder what the shelf life is? )

The factory "cig lighter" plug is on the inside of the fairing, on the left. It has a rubber plug to keep it dust and water tight. Kneel down on the left side of the bike and look at that area... you will see it.
