  1. You have recently deleted candy from your diet, and I think that is admirable. However, if you knew how and what rum balls were made from you may just quit them as well! I once knew a women who worked in a local bakery, doing the baking. She informed me that rum balls were made by combining all the day old or older products in the store. Thrown in a big mixer and ground up until unrecognizable, then add RUM FLAVORING, roll into little round balls and bake. Presto; rum balls! I have not had one in years. One question. how much, if any, weight have you lost? Maybe I too will give up candy.
  2. If you actually do find a 2207 model , please post pictures!
  3. I too have suffered the stay at the table until your plate is clean syndrome. Mom would sit there with me just to be sure. Once she fell asleep while waiting for me to finish my plate of "goulash". ( my nemesis ) I very stealthily got up, walked to the water heater closet and deposited my entire plate of stuff on the floor under the heater. As i stood up and turned around I noticed my mothers eyes were no longer closed. I was not allowed to listen to the Green Hornet on the radio that evening. Did I just give my advancing age away? I have since learned to actually enjoy the stuff.
  4. I would post mine but can't figure out how!
  5. Just let me know where to send my check. I don't have a paypal account, don't know if i really want one. Anyway I'll take one, please.
  6. If you are ever in the area of Santa Clarita, Ca. you have to try The Rattler Steakhouse. Its packed nightly and it can't be beat.
  7. And just what is wrong with WHITE?
  8. Arizona may allow you to go without a helmet but require a seat belt, but don't talk about all that protective steel around you while driving a cage. while driving a car if you hit something or something hits you, all that "protective" steel around you is what is going to hurt you. Spoken from experience. I drove an old VW van and got hit on the left front corner. wearing a seat belt saved my life, but the door frame gave me a concussion. Maybe if I had been wearing a helmet as well? Missed my first ambulance ride. I woke up in the emergency room, but I woke up. Picture me with a helmet!
  9. How much? Or do i really want to know.
  10. My camping is done in a 40ft tin tent powered by Detroit diesel and if there is snow on the ground we aren't there. Camping is a SUMMER activity. sorry
  11. Sounds like you will have a great ride. Please do yourself a big favor and don't use the Tetons as a freeway to or from Yellowstone. Both are great parks with lots to see. As a summer worker in the Tetons I see far too many people with tunnel vision going to Yellowstone. If you are into hiking there are great trails here. If you are into food, (if?) try the dinner float trip from the Jackson Lake Lodge. Ribeye steak, rainbow trout, potatoes, baked beans, salad, corn bread, dessert and beverages. All served on the bank of the Snake River at a secluded and private picnic site, then float about 10 miles to Moose Wy, along the way you can see all kinds of wildlife A wonderful experience. Try it , you'll like it.
  12. I can buy my fish at the market!
  13. Sounds like a great trip. Slow down a bit in the tetons, its a great place to visit. I and my 88 vr will be there for the summer at Colter Bay. I work for the NPS summers only. Be sure you take the Teton Park Roadway as it is a great bike road, not real long but great twistys. Be sure to keep your eyes open, to power through a curve with a hand full of throttle only to find a large bear standing in front of you was not on my bucket list! Deer seem to ignore traffic, Elk will spook and, more times than not, jump right in your way, Bison dont pay any mind to anyone. They just do their own thing, including walking right out into traffic. The worst animal of course is the tourist!!! Days will be cool but rideable, nights will be around freezing. Some people when on vacation dont have room left in their luggage for their brains. If you are there at the right time of year you can see the great migration of Harley Davidsons going to their summer party grounds in Sturgis. So come on up, its a wonderful place to spend a few days and enjoy some sightseeing.
  14. I agree. Balconies are the only way to go. Just be careful when you open the drapes. I opened the drapes one morning only to discover we were already in port and we were so close to shore there were homes looking right at us. Bring some "pj's"
  15. We did the same cruise in November on the Norwegian Dawn. Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya are simply tourist traps. We did the Dolphin swim in Costa Maya and loved it. We were told after we returned to the ship that we were supposed to do the swim in Cozumel. Their ticket agent just saw a chance to make more money and accepted our tickets. As far as Norwegian goes, we were a little disappointed. We have cruised Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and now Norwegian. The food was not poor or bad in any way, but it was just not as good as on other lines. Less variety, shorter hours for the buffet and do you need a teaspoon, you have to ask for one. I had Swordfish that was so salty it was inedible. On board was a woman that was making her 98th cruise on Norwegian. She told us the Dawn was the only Norwegian ship with these problems, so hopefully your cruise will be much better. By the way, if you like bread pudding, it is fantastic! So is the apple pie. Rib eye steaks were very good. We did the previous cruise from Quebec City to Tampa and we lost two ports. New York and Maine, but that was because of Sandy. We pulled into Halifax instead. Mother Nature, not Norwegians fault. Enjoy your cruise and watch your weight!
  16. Any problem with drilling a small (1/4 inch) hole in the wall of that l shaped compartment? That way you would get total drainage. Just a thought.
  17. I bought mine for $1000 used and I figured it was a steal. I did have to have the cross braces narrowed to fit the engine rails on my bus. (Used Greyhound) That was another $500. Still a steal. Be aware the new cost does not include installation. Therefore $3000 would not be total cost. I was quoted $3900 for a new lift and "about" $3500 for installation. My advice, for $650 grab it. One more thing, it works great.
  18. Isn't that the 2nd gen motto????
  19. You didn't say, but is that blanket big enough to cover the bike?
  20. If my responses were in any way offensive to anyone, please accept my heartfelt apologies.
  21. I wish you luck with the new knee. My wife had both done in sep 2011. She experienced little or no pain for most of the rehab. She did fall the morning after she came home. landed on her brand new right knee.Trust me, you do not want to hear a scream like that. after i got her up and to the doctors office, he said its fine, no damage. Now that knee has more range of motion than her left knee. Scared the beejeesus out of me. she is fine now. I have trouble keeping up with her. Here's hoping your experience is even better.
  22. Pegasus1300 mentioned that he missed the feeling of leaning into turns while riding with a sidecar. Years ago there was a sidecar marketed that was designed to lean with the bike. It was almost like two bikes side by side going into turns. It was also very streamlined and good looking. I don't remember the name or manufacturer. Maybe someone out there knows what they were called or even has one sitting around.
  23. Does anyone remember a sidecar sold a few years ago (could be decades) that leaned with the bike. It was very streamlined as I recall. But the selling point was you still drove as if you were on a 2 wheeler.
  24. That goes for baseball, football, basketball, the other football, tennis and any other professional sports. Why should I pay too much money to watch a bunch of unsportsman like millionaires play a game. Sort of like watching Trump and Baynor playing bridge. Dumb
  25. I wonder what that Mustang engine would do installed in my bus. The bus weighs 33000 lbs loaded and the Jeep is about 4000 lbs. I only have 300 hp with the Detroit. I would double my horsepower. How about mileage?
