  1. I also have tow service from my insurance provider. I once had to have them tow my motorhome 85 miles off of loveland pass in Colorado. My motorhome? A converted 1975 Greyhond bus. I wont be without towing service!!!

If anyone wants to go back to a first gen, call me. 503-812-1440
  3. You mentioned Jiffy peanut butter but showed Skippy. Would it be any different? How about Nutella? Chunky? Apply with bread? Peanut allergies?
  4. My wife named my 1988 vr. I don't use the name very much, theres usually too many people around. Some folks don't like to hear @#$%^&*() in public.
  5. Retirement is probably the best job I have ever held.
  6. What are you doing wasting water on laundry? California is in the middle of a drought you know. Of course having lived in the fools gold state most of my life, I do not remember a year when they were not in a drought. Just an excuse to raise the price of water.
  7. Excellent questions! Does anyone have any answers?
  8. That is how we determine how to get into places. Since we drive an old converted Greyhound bus with the 1st gen on the rear bumper and towing a Grand Cherokee there are some turns we are told to make that are simply impossible. It also gives us an idea of what we are looking for. Fun pasttime as well.
  9. what he said. Above me. However, if you enjoy cleaning do it muff IN.
  10. As a navy vet, you have my respect. I got out in 64 and was even spit on once, been called baby killer and worse. It is my own opinion that every 18 year old should serve 2 years for their country. Military, park service, i don't care which one. Ladies, you should serve as well. Just my small vent.
  11. Whatever you do, do not buy the first rig you see and do not sell everything you own and take off to see if you will like the life style. Rent several types of rv's first to see which type really serves your needs. Then when you decide what you want, decide how big you want to go. Then add 2 or 3 feet to the biggest rig you think you need. I have not met any rv owner who didn't go bigger within a very short period of time. We went from a 28 foot class a to a 40 foot class a and have no regrets. We also carry the VR on an electric lift and tow our Jeep. Well, thats my 2 cents.
  12. I was up at 4:30 am to go to work. Cup of coffee in one hand, cigarette in the other. Why am i working to earn the money to buy cigarettes just to watch them burn up? I put it out and have not had one since. Now i walk by someone who is a heavy smoker and cannot believe how bad they stink. Suppose I did too. That was in 1984.
  13. Since we have been given two options for winterizing, Arizona or Florida, we only have to examine one thing. Arizona has no overabundance of bugs. Every obnoxious bug ever discovered was discovered in Florida. I rest my case.
  14. Mud makes me think of the day I got my Honda cb160 brand new. In the day there was a motorcycle hill just off hwy 39 in La Mirada in Southern California. All the bad bikers would do hill climbs and it was a lot of fun. I in my wisdom went way back in the hills to try my stuff. I found a few guys jumping the berm on the side of the dirt road and I figured I could do that. Not wanting to interfere with their fun, I went down the road a ways where the berm was a little higher. I went off the road a little ways and turned around to start my roll. Going about 20 to 25 mph I hit the berm and went airborne. Alas, I had neglected to check the other side of the berm.As I got my air time all I could see was water. It was only about 2 inches deep but the mud under it was like fine grease. My brand new cb 160 went every which way. No injuries, no damage. When i got it out I rode straight home. That was the last of my hill climbs.
