  1. Couldn't have said it any better! Thanks!
  2. Dennis, I don't have them (yet) but have heard great things from others about Mic-O-Pegs. Pricey, but supposedly more comfy than any other type of pegs. And they aren't a problem in the twisties either. Have you checked them out? Http:http://Www.ridingiswonderful.com Joe
  3. Dennis, If you change your user name, might I suggest you use Earl Leofric? Shouldn't take you too long to figure that one out!! :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  4. He didn't actually swap the gears, he had a vmax rear machined so that he could use it on his Royal Star. I have msg'd him and gave him a link to this thread. Maybe he'll chime in here.... Joe
  5. That was Pegscraper. I ended up trading a stock rear end to him for the modified one (long story) and ran it on my 99.....which I then sold last year to a guy from Chicago. Don't think he ever joined here. Anyway, Lynn (Pegscraper) can give you more info on what is required, but it does work. Joe
  6. Please send me some of that stuff you been smokin!!!!
  7. I have 2 of these http://www.cyclemaxohio.com/inc/sdetail/76/198 that I will sell for $10 each, plus shipping. Excellent condition, just don't use them. Let me know if you are interested.
  8. Glad you like it Dennis!! I can almost guarantee that when (if) the temps hit 90 degrees, you'll be too warm behind that shield. And that is when you'll start wishing you had the hand wings so you can direct the airblast in toward you. Really saves your bacon when the sweltering starts. Joe
  9. At the price of fuel now, he better have more than SS if'n he's gonna ride very far!!!
  10. A lot of people just buy one of the bigger ones at WalMart in the automotive section and then cut it down to the size they prefer. Probably a lot less $$ in the long run.
  11. The only cheap thing on a Goldwing is its owner. (You can substitute Venture for Goldwing if you prefer!)
  12. Awesome, mate!!! Hope you have found your answer. Oh....and please keep all that vegemite as far away from me as possible! If I want to eat something that tastes that bad, I'll just go dig around in the landfill.
  13. The 98 does have the improved tranny (Valk version). Virtually unbreakable from what I have read.
  14. Oh, something I forgot to say..... If it is CANDY APPLE RED it is worth the extra!!!! They are the fastest!!
  15. I'm not aware that any GL1500 was fuel injected. AFAIK fuel injection began with the 2001 GL1800. You can find 2002 GL's with about 20,000 miles for less than $10,000 so I'd say that a 1998 GL1500 is overpriced at $8000..... That being said, there definitely is something to be said for knowing a bike's history. If you know how it was maintained and that gives you a certain comfort level, then the premium price may be worth it. I'd sure check on that fuel injection claim. My bet is that if you remove the shelter you'll see 2 carbs down there. Good luck!
  16. Dennis, Another windshield that gets pretty good reviews (but $$) is the Windbender. I don't have personal experience but you might want to check them out.... http://www.firecreekacc.com/windbender.htm Joe
  17. I've never tried to adjust mine....don't know why I would. I have it set at the full down position and it is still much higher than I could ever see over. Raising it up would do me no good. My guess is that it would be hard to move....but probably not impossible. It is a bit thicker than the Honda shield, so when you release the clamps it will still have some extra friction on it. Maybe someone else here who has one will have the definitive answer. It sure is nice to not have to worry about scratching it while cleaning. Plus you can use rainx on it, and the bugs clear off really easily. Joe
  18. I have the F4 + 4, Dennis, and it's the best I ever owned. Also have the Baker uppers, lowers, and hand wings. They really make a difference in buffeting as well as allowing you to block more air when it's cold, and direct air inward when it is hot. Well worth the expense.
  19. Dennis.... A few things that made all the difference in the world for me: *** Highway pegs let me get my feet out from under me *** Handlebar risers. Moved up and back to accomodate my short arms *** Go to WalMart and get the $20 gel cushion in the automotive dept. Wow, biggest difference of all. So good that I got one for Donna too. Two of my riding buddies also bought 2 each. Try it. Joe
  20. I'm a winger, he's a winger We're all wingers..... Wouldn't you like to be a Winger too??
  21. Ah, but Bill....wouldn't you agree that this bike is even faster????
  22. Wow, Bill. That is Gorgeous!!
  23. It's yours. I'll try to get it shipped out either tomorrow morning or Monday at the latest. Just pm your shipping address to me. Joe
  24. Anybody want a MKI clutch? I have one laying in my garage, yours for the shipping cost. First reply to this post gets it. It should fit in the USPS $10.50 flat rate box. Joe
