Changing.....and CHANGING fork oil on Gen 2
djh3 replied to Semi-retired's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I changed mine this fall. I went with the 10w oil and am happy with it. I can reduce to amount of air in front shocks now as the oil increases the compression. -
I think its skydoc, and he can get you cover gaskets reasonable. Try to pm him.

My thoughts are no. It will probably make it stiffer to pull. But engagement probably is what it is. The clutch is hyd I think the engagement zone is going to be where it is. Hopefully someone else can help on this that has changed the clutch stuff can help out.

Yea they are a PIA. thank you U of Fla Gators for inventing a bug that has no enemies except vehicles. Well thats the story folks tell here. but here is the snopes low down.

Where do I go to update a phone number etc. It has a phone listed for me but no info as to what assistance I may give. I though in profile but I don't see where.

Suprisingly a dryer sheet works well with water and sop to dislodge them buggers too.

We stayed in Franklin a year ago. Good central location.

Having purchased some Snap On stuff in the past. I hate to even imagine what the list price was on that bad boy.

I'm just old school and hard headed sort of I guess. I cant see how them paper towel things keep ya dry. but maybe when my old gear goes bad I'll try some. My buddy had some, first time on the bike (heritage soft tail) his leg was getting wet. When he stopped for gas he found out why. It had laid up against a pipe and melted, so duct tape to the rescue.

I actually had 2 stebel types for awhile. Then horn on the truck died so I moved one over there. Thats when I added the black sick speed on the right side. Its a "beeper" type but it does make a good bit of noise, says like 130 DB.

clutch woes and you can all say I told you so

Marcarl, yup you know you have done a job too many times when you can get all the rite tools first trip to the box. -
Gary they are doing the same thing to you they do to us in Fla. Folks there in Moore made them pay a couple years ago when the nasty tornados hit hard there. So now they are going to get their money back by charging out the @#&% to those living there. Btw I use to live in Altus.

ONCE I changed a clutch on a Ford I had. Disc was only thing bad so thats what I changed. Month or so later the $5 throwout bearing started to squall. Thats the last time I did that job twice. -
We have 1 pair of tourmaster and 1 nelson rigg. One of them (I forget which) has a mesh inner sort of liner theng in jacket so if its warmer out dont stick to you. Here in Fla in summer its a crap shoot at best when its going to rain. You just know its going to. Whats hard to judge for me is if its a quick shower brewing you can ride thru or if its worth stopping and putting gear on.

They sort of start in different areas at different times. Say start lower part of state and hatch or whatever working way north and across state. Some years worse than others. Only natural enemy is cars and semi.

Only problem I can think of is maybe a deal if someone gets the info from here, then looks you up to do harm. It sucks but folks are out there like that. Maybe a way to anotate it and a fellow could set it all up prior to traveling.

Bluesky: thats kind of why I am looking at ones that the storage area is somewhat seperated from sleep/common area. Atleast that one the "main" bedroom is up front and secondary is rearward and could be aired out. I dont think if you didnt have something stored for a couple weeks or something like that it wouldnt be to smelly. For me I think it would only have the bike in there a day or 2.

Thanks Eddie. I will check in wirh ya.

OK I had to look it up. Bike week is March 6th ---15th We will have to see. If I can get someone to ride up with me I will go. I think the boss is going to be busy about that time of year.

Donvitto was over there somewhere. We were going to come, but the wife it turned out had a function she had to go to on Sunday. I was a little under the weather and didnt want to ride the 180 miles round trip feeling like I did. Its usually a nice calm event. Was really busy last year when we were there.

Market is still soft here in Highlands county. They say its back on the rise, but you couldnt prove it by me.

Yes Much brighter. I have mine as a spare to the HID. There are times I think I like it better than the HID.

I have run the Wagner BP1210 With that being said it is more draw on charging system. But at bottom of page it shows a HELLA that is 55w low beam and the 100w high. That might be an option for you. I get an HID off e-bay for around $40. EZ plug and play with a relay and everything. About 20 min or so to install depending on if you can get your mitts in there to change the bulb anyways.
