  1. See I couldnt do the film thing. Id getcaught up in traffic or cut off and there would be alot of beeeeep. lol
  2. Hmm Ice Cream probably has to be the Jackson Dairy in Jackson Mi. An unuaual mom n pop was in Franklin NC. On the side of this gas station was a little French restraunt. You would never know its there and had nice atmosphere inside, but not to ritizy ditzy fancy.
  3. Yea I was in simular situation. I atleast did get a severance, but it rare in this state. This "right to work state" is a joke. I have got into my old resumes and had to re-write the thing because there are absolutly no jobs in this state that I was doing. Sucks at my age to have to restart all over. Probably your in simular boat.
  4. OH man the suction cup thing just scares the heck outta me. I had mine in the truck last week to go up to ST Pete for an appointment. I turned a corner and "clunk" it let go and was sliding on the dash back and forth.
  5. Depends on where its leaking as to weather or not it can be fixed. Tubes can be fixed. Problem with these and newer car radiators are the tanks are "clamped" in and they are plastic. So if for some reason they wiggle around or something to dislodge the tank from the core, they are done.
  6. Yea I think its still way way louder than the OEM beeper.
  7. SilverT, hey the faring on that 750 looks like the Pacifica I had on my GS1100.
  8. Everything for the last say 10 years or so has been "lean tuned". Some for MPG more so to meet the EPA specs. Lean it out it runs hotter and supposedly burns the fuel more and also n the way out. Add some fuel and it cools off but emissions go up. On the CAT on the HD, I saw a you tube video a fellow did on his street glide I think it was. He used his multi meter and rode it like 15 min and checked them at head pipes. Then he gutted the cat and did same ride and checked them. It was something like over 200 deg cooler I think. I know the header wrap stuff works. but do I want that ugly looking cra on my 30K bike? Even with more chrome trying to cover it? The big twin Kawasakis Voyagers fight the same kind of problem and they are water cooled.
  9. Barry more advance notice I might have been able to shadow with you. 2 years back I made it from Bluefield WV to home in 12.5 hours something like 752 miles. Not any speed record I'm sure. but I had to ride thru charlotte at like 9am, Jacksonville around 3pm heavy construction and Orlando at 6 pm. So efficient traffic flow was not rolling well in some of those places. I can see where super slab routing and away from big cities is essential. Good luck and ride safe friend.
  10. Don I think I can relate to your woes. My wife is the staff member and as such coordinates 4 very large events with multiple volunteers. They have a problem and think she should drop whatever to work on their problem. But times that by 4 and 10-15 min here and there and the day is gone man. If I boo boo and put something in the wrong place a note "hey dummy thats not where it goes, move it or loose it" would work for me. If you took the 15 min to move and relist etc when would you have time to completely rebuild, reorganize and fine tune this neat little place we have. I think you did fine.
  11. The bad thing is your stuck. The radiators only fit one machine, so sort of a special made kind of thing and a very small market. Far as I know it would be to much fabricating to maybe find something "close" and make it work. Also the like 05 thru 09 Tour Deluxe use the same radiator, so might be worth a look see. You never know they might be a tick cheaper.
  12. I use a long handle phillips screwdriver to loosen the band clamp. Then I think its 10mm socket and you will need a wiggler to get to one of them I think its the top. but they come out easy enough without pulling the lowers. Those are a PIA.
  13. Yup my one stebil is mounted there. Sorry I dont really remember how then dagum rivet goobers come out. I think you actually turn them a little like 3 turns or so like a screw then you may have to "lift" the center screw part up to unlock it and then pop the whole gizmo out.
  14. Yea use the like I have there. That cable is about 5 bucks. much better than the 20 or so they want.
  15. I will run my RK pipes around town and shorter trips. When we get ready for the 400+ mile days the oem pipes go back on. I did have some 2 strokes with expansion chambers.
  16. Don the only time I have used USB is on the PC to maily upload routes I have made. I know it will charge off there, but as far as actually run off the Mini usb (plug that goes into the unit) and a USB plugged into a charger port on bike I do not know. I know when I plug it into the PC it asks if importing data I think. Sort of like what mode you want it to operate in. I just got a cord with the cig type plug and went from there. I would almost just cut it off and hard wire it in if I didn't think there was some kind of voltage reducer or something in that end that plugs into the cig port.
  17. If it was me and I thought I wanted to go the east coast route. I think about as far south as I would go is where Brakpad is. Actually Melbourne is more what I what I had in mind. Its a bit less expensive up that way.

    Had enough!

Funny you should say something. I have been looking for about 6 months or so. Just ain't a whole lot here where I am. At least nothing that wants to pay anything.
  19. Yea mine too. but the traffic thing is about useless IMOP. It halfazz works in and around Tampa Bay area depending on where you are, Orlando it is like its 20 min behind actual traffic conditions. Mine is plugged into the lighter socket. Here is a sample.

    Had enough!

I am about an hour an half south off US 27 from where you are. Small town called Sebring. Some good deals around, depends on what your looking for and price range. Almost dead middle of state, less thanb2 hours either way and your @ either the atlantic east coast or gulf of mexico west coast.
  21. Don does your cable have a large rectangle black piece on the cable like 8 or so inches fron the end? Thats the reciever for the traffic deal. Not always a useful bit of info as not all areas support it. If you decide to go wwith a different cable let me know as I ordered one for mine as the clips on the side plug thing broke and its a pain to disconnect. So I bought the mini usb cable and it works great. Now I just leave that cable on the bike. I think I gave a few bucks for it not the 20 or so garmin wants.
  22. I was going to say play the "dish will do this whats your offer" I just had to do that. Onlu saved me like 10 or 12 buck but it helped.
  23. Heck I dunno where I got hooked. I remember the story of my brother riding his Triumph 175 or something from McDill AFB in Tampa Fl to Detroit Mi bac around 56 or 58. I just thought that would be so cool. Then came Bronson was popular on TV then and I just loved that idea. Around 73 or whatever when the 750 hondas came out my other "normal" brother bough one. I would ride with him whenever I could. I rode for hodaka dealer for awhile ace 100. My first bike I owned was an RD 350 yamaha. Looked sort of like this one.
  24. Bob Myers had some pretty slick mount bar things he was making at one time for mounting gadgets.
  25. Yea I got a boat load of big 200 like 280 290+
