  1. Yep, I read that article when it first came out in CW, good writing as usual from the CW staff. Enjoy their mag very much.........looks like it was a great tour, even though 1 or 2 of the bikes did go a little over the $1000.00 limit set for the ride.

  5. Jeff, thanks for having the M&E, we really enjoyed it, we were a little tired after we got back, but it was well worth it. The Petty museum was great, and the food was fantastic.......Thanks for having it so close, I told you if you had it closer to Charlotte we would come.............So thanks again for a great time, met some new family and so some old family.............Great time as always when the VR family gets together....Posted a few pics below.

There for a moment I thought you were talking about Charlene...........LOL.............But she still puts up with me going on 34 years...............Now thats an Angel......... Happy Anniversary!!!!! 8. Daughter went to surgeon yesterday, having her gall bladder removed on Wed. Jan,2, 2008, what a way to start the year, she wont be able to pick up her new baby now for a couple of weeks, cant lift anything over 10 lbs, and hes already over that.................Thanks for the prayers...........now I hope that covers everything for a while.........cant take anymore of this kind of LUCK!!!! I hope daughter didnt make a bad move by wearing an LSU shirt to see the Dr., he graduated from Tulane Univ. used to be a big football rival for us Tigers years ago................:rotf:
  9. Charlene is going for her first epidural injection tomorrow, I am unable to take her cause I had to miss work today due to strep throat, she is looking forward to the procedure hoping she will get some results from the first injection....told her not to get her hopes too high, I had the same thing in my neck and didnt get much relief till the third treatment, and that only lasted about 8 months, had it done a second time, but they did a massive dose of all three at one time, and that seemed to help right away but again nothing long term from it, now I just drug myself and soldier on. I would hate to see her have to go through surgery, spinal surgery aint no walk in the park, my son and I have both had it....and it sucks...... Enuff about that, please keep her in your prayers tomorrow, her procedure is at 9:00 am. Thanks to everyone...... God bless and Have a Happy New Year!!!!!!!
  10. For the muffin, he can do anything to a 1st gen, and Im sure he wouldnt mine butchering a 2nd gen......:rotf:
  11. Just think, Muffinman could be planning to swap out Beers bike with one of his spare 1st gens..........you never know what the muffinman is up too................:rotf:
  12. This past year has been filled with ups and downs in our family, the biggest up being the birth of our second grandchild 3 weeks ago, but seems the downs waited till now to rear their ugly heads even higher. Charlene has finally been diagnosed with spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal that causes pinched nerves causing much pain) the doctor thinks this is more of the problem than the hip or knee, hopefully she will start treatment before the 1st of the year. Then last nite my daughter called with chest pains again and again went to the ER, this time they did a bunch of tests and find the problem to be gallstones, which means surgery sometime after the first of the year................. Hopefully the New Year will be a better year here. Lots of good things to look forward to with the coming year. Hopefully after Charlene has her treatments she will be able to get back to riding with me once again, and she should be able to enjoy our non motorcycling vacation, when we go on our cruise next summer. So here is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays..........be safe and God Bless.
  13. Very well put Jeff.............Merry Christmas!!!!!
  14. Sean Morgan of Morgan Carbtune donated the new model for a door prize at The 3rd Annual Tail of the Dragon, last August. I dont know much about the difference in the old and the new, but if you check with Skid, maybe he can tell you, since he was the lucky guy that won it. Thanks again to Sean for all their support of this great group........
  15. A 1st gen or muffinman would be buying it from you, hes trying to build up a parts inventory for all those other 1st gens he has been buying up...........once he corners the market, watch out.................:rotf::rotf:
  16. You better not chance it.................:rotf: If you do go, just make sure calls to your home phone are forwarded to your cell, that way if she calls you at home, as far as she knows, your still there................. I see it this way, if you gotta ask, dont go..........:rotf: you wouldnt enjoy it worrying about if she found out you duped her..............:rotf:
  17. When I bought my new phone from Verizon, it has GPS capability also, but for the monthly fee, which was pretty high, dont remember exactly how much, I did inquire as to being able to use it as needed and its $2.95 each time you connect to it, so in an emergency you can still use it if you need to.
  18. Hopefully after you recover you will be able to get another ride, that gives you a second chance to do the right thing and get a first gen, they are less expensive and are still a class ride and if you fall on hard times, it would be paid for and no need to part with it to pay bills........... Hope it all works out for you. Have a Merry Christmas
  19. You were only going to get tossed from the parking lot, at Vogel, at my cabin, where the party was going on, we had to be warned not once but twice about how loud we were, this is a very loud family we have here. One more warning and I think we would have all been tossed from the park, as a side note, I think the only person we were disturbing was the park ranger, since their quarters were right across the road from my cabin. Don, you did good as usual in handling this problem, if you hadnt stepped in, I think it would have turned into a lynch mob..............:rotf::rotf: Thanks again Don for "all" you do for this group, its amazing what a great group of folks we have here, Now if we could only get everybody to show up at one VR event, that would be FANTASTIC!!!! Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Ride!!!!!
  20. Have a good ride and breakfast, I am just the opposite, I ride to work every day and dont ride that much on the weekends unless our local group has a ride planned or one of them call me cause they want someone to ride with. Been riding the Venture all week for a change of pace and to keep it from getting jealous.........:rotf:. Its still the best riding bike around. Hope you and Linda have a Merry Christmas.................
  21. Thank you Bobbie.............God Bless and have a Very Merry Christmas...............
  22. One of my co-workers brought some pictures to work that someone sent to him of a gentleman who was camping up in Alaska, and was attacked while sleeping in his tent.......He survived the attack and managed to kill the bear with his gun, I wont post the pics here, they are to gruesome to look at, but if anyone is interested, send me a pm with you email addy and I will forward them on to you, but be Warned, they are pretty graphic. Not for the squemish....................:no-no-no:
  23. The first time that was posted here..........But its still scary to think about what they do and dont do.......what else are they not doing............I dont want to know.:no-no-no: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17347
  24. If I can pay you on time and get these terms....:rotf:$1000.00 down and $100.00 a month for 300 months, just draw the papers up and we can do the deal.:rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf: Love to add the shiny one to my collection.
  25. That fairing and bag set up really makes the Vstar look great, too bad the prices are out of site, over $1000.00 for the rear bag, and $1300.00 for the fairing and $1900.00 for the bags make that close to half the price of a basic Vstar............way too much money for this poor guy. But it really looks sharp. I guess I will just have to dream, if I were to buy anything it would be the bags, they look really great.
