  1. Just to make it fair we'll pull 2 of your plug wires.
  2. Sorry to that! You are up and walking and thats a good thing.
  3. Pics didnt attach to last post for some reason
  4. We spent the 1st night in Gould City, then rode the south route to Porcupine Mtns to see Lake in the Clouds then on to Copper Harbor where we spent the 2nd night. Next day took us through Marquette and back to Gould City where we stayed Sun. night. A friend owns the bar in town and let us stay in his hunting cabin in the woods. 1550 miles of pure riding fun last weekend. We did get into Wisconsin for about 15 miles.
  5. I guess you wouldn't know... you being a Honda rider !
  6. Brace ???????????? What brace.... I haven't seen no brace. Got a link?
  7. Nope, couldn't have been you. We never got up that way and didn't get on I-75 till about 10:30 Monday morning. I was traveling with 3 Harley's, so you may have heard us though
  8. Probably not if you just crossed over into the US. We were in Wisconsin on Sat. afternoon. I'm back down state now.
  9. Also got this one at the same park.
  10. Just got back from a 4 day ride in the U.P. saw 4 different 2nd Gen's while there. Could it have been anyone from VRO ? A dark Grey RSV, a Black and 2 others, one was pulling a trailer. Would have been on Sat. , Sun & today.
  11. Wouldn't ya know it, I just went almost 700 miles into the Upper Peninsula before I found a slide, then 800 miles home just to find that someone beat me to it! :bang head: We did have a great ride though. On to the next target.
  12. Yep Stadium is a few $$ cheaper How did you get the original bolts out?
  13. Another question... is there any difference between the ignition switch for a 1999 and 2001 other than a $18 difference in price ? Cheap Cycle Parts lists the '99 switch(4XY-82501-00-00) at $158.68 and the 2001(4XY-82501-01-00) at $175.36
  14. Well, my ignition switch is showing signs that it's getting ready to fail. I wired a bypass tonight, don't want to get left stranded in the middle of nowhere this weekend, headed to Copper Harbor, Mi. I have been reading the tech section for ideas on how to go about fixing the switch. How many have tried disassembling and repairing the switch ? This thread details fixing the switch. What I'd like to know is if others have had success doing this repair?
  15. My 01 has the whine but only in a very narrow rpm band, it was louder till I started running Rotella full synthetic diesel oil. Now I only hear it at the top of 2nd & 3rd gear while on the throttle. I have nothing on the knock.
  16. I run all three of those apps plus Comodo Firewall. Firewall runs always. MWB I run twice weekly and spybot is always running resident. AVG works good on my system. I have Avast on the other computer and I'm getting to like it more & more.
  17. I guess a leg bone is better than scratched paint & chrome Hoping ya heal fast.
  18. When we were out there we made a wrong turn at Madison and had to do the whole South loop to get to West Yellowstone where we had hotel reservations. That wrong turn caused us to ride thru the dark and a rain / snow storm, mind you this was in late August. As you know riding in Yellowstone after dark can be hazardous, The Bison blend into the darkness and you don't see them till you're right on top of them
  19. Here's a pic of mine in the location Sylvester suggested.
  20. Hope you're not going to the casino tonight !
  21. I've had Venom X on my ride for a year and 8000 miles and they still look almost as good as the day I got it, no flat spot yet. (No cracking) I ran E 3's on my Honda 1100 and found them to be nosier than the Venom X hard for me to compare the handling since they were on different bikes.
  22. Since you are going to Thermopolis go east out of town and ride thru Wind River Canyon, it WILL be one of the best rides you take while you are out there. It is a beautiful ride and only about 15 miles long. The canyon starts about 5 miles out of town. If you can, ride it twice, once in the morning and then again in late afternoon or early evening. As the sun changes it looks different. Keep an eye out for Deer while in Thermopolis, they wander the streets in broad daylight, they have no fear of humans or cars.
  23. The last groundhog I saw while riding, got thumped with both tires. The little sucker jumped up and ran away!
  24. It was a great ride, 9116 miles in 23 days. I talked to Chuck the other day, he doesn't have any totals on the amount raised yet but they expect to do really well for their chosen charities. All those miles and they only had a few hours of rain! Thanks for helping.
