  1. The Venture IS listed as NOT being compatable. But from what have seen here, as long as you have the Carbon One adapter (whcih I do) both jacks will work. Am I correct in this? I would like to maybe order either the J&S or the Pitbull.
  2. Powerwasher. Same thing happened around here about 8 years ago. Crotch rocket went through the side of a van. I would say fault falls on both parties. 1. Hang up the damn phone and drive. 2. Slow it the hell down. If she did see him, she probably thought she had enough room and misjudged his distance, which is easy to do when someone is going like a bat outta hell. Poeple now days pay more attention to that stupid phone and texting than they do driving. I know, my wife is getting bad. As soon as she gets a text.....she has to answer it. Some day....I am gonna smash her phone.......
  3. That would result in her skirt being ripped right off correct? I don't see the problem!!
  4. I ordered 1" Long Horn Offsets off of Ebay last Thursday. I expect them to be in tomorrow. I also bought 1" clamps for the brace.
  5. Well, I finished up the gauge and tach install..............AND EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! The guages were no problem. The tach was a differant animal. Not hard, just differant. Dug050 led me onto the path of righteousnous. Thank you sir! I made up the adapter with a resistor and diode at each coil and she reads about 900 rpm at idle, 2000 rpm with the choke pulled out on warm up. I hooked up to the front two coils. one was easy to get to, the other, not so much but I just took my time, thought things through and everything worked out. I may be making some faceplates with gauges and bringing them to maintainence day. Anyone interested? If I do, I will only be able to make up about 4 depending on the work flow at work and machine availability. Just pm me and we will go from there. I am going to contact the anodizer for color options. Mine are blue. See the attached pic. Now to make some carb covers.................
  6. dug050, Once I read the post, it pretty much made sence. I am going to do this on saturday. I will post my results. Thanks to all who responded. Much appreciated.
  7. Thanx Dug......I read the post, printed off the sketch and will do this this weekend. I will let you know what happens. Randy
  8. Ok, my gauges (Equus) all work. Finished the install, changed the oil and cranked her up. Oil pressure came right up, water temp took a few and finally came up to about 180 degrees. Volts, no problem. The tach is not working. The light works but the needle does nothing. So here's the poop. I need some suggestions. The Tach is a Nitrous 2". I wired it as follows: White: Night lamp...tapped into the driving lights. Orange: Wired to the positive battery terminal. Black: Chassis ground. Green: To the negetavie lead on the coil. I am pretty sure it's the negative. According to the repair manual, it's the gray/orange (top terminal). My terminals are as follows. Red is the lower and white is the upper. So I connected it to the white terminal. Red: Is supposed to go to the ignition switch accessory position. I just tapped into the lights again since they come on when the key is turned to the accessory position. This may have been my down fall. I am not sure where to tap into the ignition at. I am not sure if it makes a differance or not. The tach does have a 4-6-8 cylinder switch. I tried all of these positions. Tech support was nooooooo help. Any ideas? I am bummed and pissed. I put alot of work into the tach housing. It really looks sweet, but it would look sweeter if the tach worked! Randy
  9. I have the lights, volt meter and oil pressure hooked up. Feet got cold so I called it a day. Hopefully by Teusday I can fire it up to see if everything works.
  10. I have the Equus gauges. Not hooked up yet. I would "assume" it would take longer for a bike to come up to operating temp than a car motor. Cooling fins on the cylinders, aluminum block and all. As far as the oil, crack the fitting loose at the gauge and bleed the line. It probably is just air locked. Check out my install pics under the heading My guage and tack install. I am hookingmine up this weekend! Randy
  11. Well here are my gauges and tach. I designed both pieces with Cimatron E8.5 software and programmed the cnc for the cutter paths. Had them anodized, they did not come out as dark as I wanted, but I think they still look pretty trick. I am using Equus triple gauges and a Nitrous brand tach. Not hooked up yet, that's this weekends project, along with my Utopia backrest. Once this is done I am going to do the crashbar supports and add highway pegs. It's been pretty warm this past week in Michigan, so I gotta get this this back together and road ready.
  12. Don't have a pic of my wifes helmet. She went down last October. She went down at 50 mph. Her bike, 07 Honda Shadow Spirit went into the ditch and barrel rolled. I have fixed the bike. The wife.....concussion, broken big toe on left foot and a torn ACL in her left knee. Her helmet and leather jacket and leather gloves saved her skin. Everyone....please ride safe!!
  13. Bought a pair of water bottle holders off ebay for $50 for the pair.. I kept one and gave my brother in-law the other one. I just got it installed today. Removed all of the original snaps, some cutting and trimming and installed the new snaps. Easy reach and it does not clutter up the handle bars being on the saddle bag guard. Now if the snow would just melt....................
  14. I went to the one in Lansing Michigan about 3 weeks ago. It was advertised as "HUGE" with metric bikes, choppers and a whole lotta accessories. It was 95% used Harley crap, no metrics, no choppers and very little new accessories.
  15. I was unemployed for 7 1/2 months after 27 years of steady work in the tool & die/mold trades. The shop that I am working at now is the three D's of the trade. Dark, Dirty and Depressing. The ONLY reason they survived AND made a profit last year is because they are minority owned. Owned by the Indians (dot not how) and get preferential treatment from the auto companies. Especially GM. I worked for 5 weeks in Arizona during that time off from Feb-March of last year. I fell in love with the area. If I loose this job....the house goes up for sale for what I can get out of it and I will be gone. It is really rough up here and the shops that are left are really low balling the wages. I make 45% less now than what I did at my last job......45% less. That's a tough pill to swallow.
  16. Well, I live in Michigan and we had 10 inches dumped on us. I worked in Arizona last winter and fell in love with the weather. If I could just get my wife to leave this state!!! But then again, why leave a state with 15% unemployement?
  17. I swear it was not me !!!
  18. When my two boys were young we raced onraod electric 1/10th scale. We went all over Michigan and Ohio. I continued to race until about 2 years ago. It just got way too expensive. It got to be more about winning than fun. Plus with tires at $40 a set, battery packs at $120 entry fees, gas to and from the tracks, motor of the week........I just had to stop. I have a new hobby now.....a 2007 RSV!!
  19. 2007 Royal Star Venture with Harley Ultra Classics with drilled out baffles. Sounds real nice.
  20. Not sure if I will be selling these or not. There is alot of work in this and I am not sure if I want to commit to it or not.
  21. I made a guage plate at work. Designed it at home using Cimatron E8.5 design software. Programmed it at work using WorkNc 17. I matched the contour of the dash and also the recess that was below the tape deck door. Came out pretty nice. I am going to polish it and probably have it anodized dark blue to match the Galaxy Blue of the bike. I am also adding a tach to the right handle bar. I have it designed, just waiting for a machine to open up to cut the housing and clamp. I will post pics as the project progresses.
