  1. Karl, As always if there is anything we can do let me know, all the best my friend, your in our thoughts
  2. Problem with that bike is you would start to have a lot of work to it. If someone was going to buy it and start to really ride it, the gaskets would almost certainly start to leak and so many other issues of a bike that has basically sat for 20 years. Definitelt not worth what the bids got to
  3. I am still in Charlotte at the nieces house and stopped at the local Yamaha dealership, Interstate Cycles. http://www.interstatecycle.com/ They have a MM on cosignment, with a bit over 11K on it for $8K. The bike is as near perfect as I have ever seen one and if I had the money I would buy in a second. It has saddlebag guards, a trunk rack, passing lights with visors on all turn signals and headlight. The bike is really a super nice machine and if your looking for a MM then I would highly recommend this one. Contact guy is Kevin and I mentioned to them that I would post it up on the site.
  4. Kinda personal preference, myself I dont know that I would paint a Millenium, especially #3 That being said it's personal expression and you only live once. If you can find a Midnight and buy it I would do that and sell the MM in it's original skin.
  5. Good to see you and Terry again at The Hub Tom, glad you folks made it home safe
  6. Dan, It was good to see you again at Vogel with Jeff, enjoy that new scoot
  7. Dave, The whole issue isn't of voicing ideas, it's about it going on a confrontational path. I have been helping moderate this site for going on 4 years now and have seen all kinds of "voicing of ideas" The problem is, is that folks will try and bully their ideas into a conversation, or just plainly stir the pot to get a responce. Like mentioned by Dano, if you want to talk about politics or other subjects that have emotional impact, do it face to face. Lots of things get taken out of context on an open forum. Thanks for your thoughts.
  8. That is to report a post Dave, so yes use that should you need to get ahold of us or PM us directly
  9. Curtis, Your in our thoughts, many more miles to ride my friend...it will all work out as it should.
  10. I would hate to see us have to become that heavy handed, we try very hard as moderators to let freedom of speech play out. Sometimes we just need to bump the forum in the right direction. I will say that being a moderator isn't a popularity contest, for the most part we have nothing to watch over as the membership moderates itself very well. Sometimes we just get off track a bit. I hate having to say anything, but there are times when it's necessary. As always, and as Eck has mentioned, if you see a thread heading south PM us and let us know. I can't read all the posts anymore and sometimes I miss something. I can honestly say that all of the mods and admin appreciate all the folks we have here. By and far you folks dont cause us any real headaches....Thank you
  11. Vogel is always a hit, I always tell new members to make it there if they can swing it, this year was our 3rd time
  12. On the 1300cc's I haven't heard of anyone doubling up stock springs. Some folks have doubled the 1200cc's springs as they are set up similar to the Barnett with 6 springs on the pressure plate. The PCW kit replaces the half friction disc in the back of the clutch basket with a full one and eliminates the retaining spring. The spring material the PCW is made with is a higher Rockwell and retains it's stiffness longer. On ALL of the clutch upgrades I have done on both 1st and 2nd gens I have never had to replace any of the friction discs. They have been the exact thickness as the new one that comes in the kit. Here is the link to PCW for those interested. http://pcwracing.net/
  13. Peg, You did absolutely nothing wrong, the decision to close the thread is not aimed at you, there are just too many threads that are stirring up emotions here on the site lately. My talk isn't directed at ANYONE in particular, and I would hope that your being upset will subside and you will continue to be an active poster. I wish you nothing but the best and thank you for all that you have done for the site in the past
  14. It's time for us to have another chat here. Freebird not 2 weeks ago came on and mentioned about threads going south. Today I have closed 2 threads down due to folks coming on and taking them south. There are a couple of rules here, and for the most part, the greater majority of the membership have no problems following them. Political post are never good, they always go south as all of us have strong beliefs, I do too, way heavy (on the edge of being radical) than most of you know, but I dont express them here. We hear of tragedies and that sparks emotions in us, we then say our peace, usually before we take a chance to calm down and think about the consequesnces. It's understandable, but we are grown men and women, many over 40. Some like to fuel the fires and stir the pot, this is not acceptable. THINK before you post up something that MAY be misconstrewed. I know that most start out innocently as information, but they spiral quickley out of control and create hard feelings and get dander up. I am not here to preach to any of you, I am no better than anyone else on this site, but I will come on and give some of us a jerk and let folks know that the moderators wont tolerate this. For some reason this summer seems to be one of the worst for these kinds of threads that are usually kept for winter time when many of us can't ride. PLEASE think about what you post and the reprocussions that can happen by passing on info that stirs up emotions. Lets keep this in mind when we post and we wont have to seem heavy handed by closing or deleting threads. Thank you to all the members that contribute to this site. This place is enjoyable to come to because we try very hard to keep it light and enjoyable. I can speak for myself and the moderators in saying that you folks are very easy to work with. We dont have a lot of issues with the members....so THANK YOU
  15. OK...this one is gone too....
  16. OMG! ....and to think that they were wearing Yammers gloves! the nerve of those bears
  17. Now THAT sounds like a great idea...I might have to join you Chief
  18. Both the 1st and 2nd gen will handle the 55 watt bulbs, but I always use the 35 watt to ease up on the charging system. 35 watts are hard to find but I had a website that was posted where I could buy the Hella 35 watt. I'll try to get that info when I get home as it's save on the home computer.
  19. Folks, I totally understand where y'all are coming from, but before this thread goes south, please keep it light. I too do not approve of what happened with Billy Lane, I know how I feel, but for some reason these days controversial posts seem to spin out of control very quickly. Were all big kids now and we know how the world works, as much as it ticks some of us off.
  20. Good to hear that you got it all done, I wish that I had money enough to ride all year long, good to have you back in 1 piece
  21. Get a nail in a spoke rim tire, instant flat, one in a solid rim can get you home. Spokes can be pretty, but a PITA for maintaining and reliability
  22. Glad it was something simple Gil, good to be able to spend some time with you folks
  23. Good to see you made it home, wish we had gotten there sooner. many folks I wanted to meet but didn't get the chance
  24. I have done 90 trying to outrun a storm in Ogalala Nebraska. I had no issues pulling it that fast as we were on the slab. I try to keep it around posted speeds, just being mindful that it's back there as sometimes I can't feel it.
  25. As always Dave ...But I know 1st hand that "Filly" knows how to ride, ask her about catching up with the boys at the 1st Pork in the pines after we went back to pick up Stardbog's flag
