  2. OK, I agree. You do not have to wear the police officers hat.
  3. If you are going North along the shore on 31. Just 3 miles North of Petoskey is 119 North and it follows the shore to Cross Village (nice riding). AT Cross Village you take C66 east to 81 North. 81 North goes to the lake and becomes Wilderness Park Dr. Go East into Mackinaw City. IF you have time go West on Wilderness Park Dr (at 81) into Wilderness State park, it's 8 miles in and 8 miles back out on same road but real nice ride. Been 2 years since I rode it but enjoyed it. Just beware when you pop out of the woods and the road turns at the sand dunes, watch out for sand on the curves. Just and Idea. Have fun.
  4. It does not say NASCAR anymore even though they run NASCAR sprints twice a year. Yes I have 3 fingers up. If it's OK I'll post the next mission. Let's just say if you except it the next mission: You, your bike standing with a Police officer.
  5. Multi-tasking while driving just has to stop. When I was doing medical transportation and driving more then 250 miles a day I saw drivers being run off the road, get hit, and some just drive off the road because someone was doing everything except driving. Just today I saw a young girl run a red light while talking on the phone and you could tell she had no idea of what she had just done. States including Michigan keep passing laws about accidents and moving violations while talking on cell phones and other distractions while driving but with the great art of plea bargaining nothing but a fine for the state and a slap on the wrist for the driver ever happens. Not saying anything will bring the victim back, but maybe jail time, large fines and loss of drivers licence will stop the same person from doing it again. Sorry just a pet pev I guess, a friends wife was killed after being hit head on while the other driver was searching for radio stations. To me doing something other then driving is no excuse for murder. It's not an accident, it's a risk they are willing to take at the expense of others. Time to shut up now.

    M&E on MI

Next three Saturday morning are booked with Daughters volleyball but interested at another time. And Mt Pleasant sounds good also.
  7. Thanks! I sent you a PM with address.
  8. Very Nice Gary. Didn't take you long to finish it and build the hitch from the day I stopped over. Very Very Nice.
  9. I take my radio antenna off so I can put my cover on the bike and have a nice place to tuck it away. Well of course this morning I forget to put it back on and for some reason did not play radio all day. I get home and go to put cover on and no antenna anywhere. So I just need the antenna itself and not the mount. So if anyone has one please PM me with a price. My zip code is 48506 for shipping...Thanks.
  10. Cat in the house and now in his normal spot sleeping next to my Daughter. Only thing I found was a cut under left eye. The trapped cats went to the animal shelter. Daughter so happy you would think she just had her first ride on a 1st Gen. LOL. Thanks again to everyone.
  11. Daughters cat home now. Put food out like everyone said and tonight looked out and her cat was eating the food. In the meantime was able to live trap 3 stray cats including the big mean one that came through the screen to get at Daughters cat. Daughter is to say the least VERY HAPPY. Monday cat goes to vet to get checked out and fixed. Thanks everyone.
  12. I'll go ahead and register on May 3rd. (pay day). But I was just trying to find where to register and pay. I can't seem to find it now?
  13. WOW. That is a big shell. Shoulder hurts just watching it.
  14. Ol Strangeman of the Satan's Barbers MC. Interesting.
  15. Thanks everyone. Put food out and had to pick Daughter up from school because she couldn't stop crying. Time will tell just hard on kids.
  16. She is a he and the only reason I haven't got him fixed yet is because he never allowed to go outside. We could leave the door open and he wouldn't go out, just set at the door looking out. School already called once to find out why Daughter so upset. Afraid to put food out then would be over run with strays.
  17. My 11 year old Daughter has been visiting her mother all week and today when I picked her up had to give her some bad news. When I came home Saturday night from riding I noticed the screen on the kitchen window was ripped apart. Went in the house and the kitchen and living room was a mess and cat fur everywhere. Looks like one of the stray cats around here came through the screen to get at my Daughters cat. We have some neighbors that get cats, have litters and turns them loose to fend for them self. Daughters cat has NEVER been out of the house except to go to the Vets. This long hair white cat has been fighting with about everything that moves around here and most of the cat fur in the house looked like it was from Daughters cat and the other was long white fur. I can't find her cat anywhere and all I can figure is her cat ended up going out the window also. Finally got my Daughter to sleep but I don't think that will last long. Never saw a kid and cat play like they did. I guess I could go on and on how much that cat meant to her, I never really liked cats much but that one was OK. So sorry no motorcycle story but just unloaded. You all know sometimes it hard to watch your children hurt so much.....Thanks
  18. 975 miles from Amarillo Texas. to Guntersville Alabama. On 2003 Goldwing.
  19. My 83 was the same way when I got it. The left rear slider would not slide. The diaphragm had come apart but had no holes. I just worked slowly pulling the slider out with my finger and then cleaned slider and inside with WD40 and worked it back and forth until it moved smoothly. Put diaphragm back together reinstalled everything and runs great. Be sure to check all your diaphragms, I was lucky and all mine had been replaced before I bought the bike. It's worth the trouble to keep these 83's running, lots of fun to ride.
  20. I was just North of Birch Run picking up my National Parks Pass when I left for Muskegon. I just went West until the road ended. Then I'd look both ways decide which way looked best and went that way until I could go west again. Ended up coming into Carson City from the North. Then went west on 57 out of Carson City to 66. Went south into Ionia then took 21 east to home. Muskegon was my goal but it was one of those rides where you just go where the road takes you. Found some great roads with some fun curves North East of Carson City along the Bad River. If I would of went all the way to Muskegon it would of been so late I would of had to burn e-way all the way back and didn't feel like e-way riding.
  21. Very nice, like the color. I'd leave it like it is without the emblems.
  22. I was on my way to Muskegon when I left for my ride today. Saw on news it was the warmest spot in the state and wanted to see what 60 degrees felt like. Been so long I forgot. Was riding all back roads and just turning whatever way the road looked best so I only made it just North east of Grand Rapids before I started back to Flint.

    83 wow

Oh yes I found the wobble at about 105 mph. But riding that fast is not a everyday thing. Was on back roads in central Michigan and just had to see what it could do. Stayed around 80 or under most of the day. Need to get a super brace for the front forks, felt the fork flex on hard cornering also.

    83 wow

Got up to 55 degrees today so took a 237 mile ride. Rode her hard and fast and still got 37.5 mpg. Took some peoples advice and did the 6500 rpm through the first 3 gears. 70 mph punch. And had her up to 125 mph before I backed off. Found some great curves 15 to 35 mph POSTED, came up to one that said 20 but should of said 10, a real eye opener that one was. Still just amazes me how at 4500 rpm you crank on the throttle and it's almost instant 6500 rpm and climbing. I swear it has an automatic passing gear. LOL. Tomorrow supposed to get to 63 degrees so I'll have to renew the grin in case it's gone by morning.:big-grin-emoticon:.
  25. I ride in this every year (3000+bikes) very well organized and I've never seen any trouble. People line the whole route watching. Was told by someone watching last year that it took 45 minutes for all the bikes to go by. I get there about 9:30am because I like to ride up front. Plus shorter lines to the food when you get to Shriner's Circus park. It's like one huge bike show after registration and line up. Just wanted to invite anyone and everyone who may want to take a good ride for a good cause. Let me know who wants to ride and we can meet for breakfast and ride together.
