  7. 2010 we went out the last week of June come home the Saturday before the 4th of July. Traffic was great, weather was great. We had one small storm on the way out and one the night before we went home. The wind on the way home was just terrible that was the worst part of the trip. Be sure to take your time and enjoy everything you can wear a hat or use sun screen the sun will burn with out you knowing it. If you go Crazy Horse be sure to back a night for the laser show it's a great show.
  8. I bought these they seem to work ok. Have not used them in a down pour but that wide cuff on the glove keeps wind and rain from going up your sleeves. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/114-347

  14. Hi Deb We never found that place looks neat, we went south towards Hot Springs and found a little bar in Pringle good food. We found a lot of little places we had never been to when were there in a car. You don't want to find everything when your out there you need a reason to go back and find more. Glad you had a good trip to bad we didn't cross paths for a day. Craig
  15. I feel a lot better today, walk with a little limp in the morning and as the day goes on it gets better. Going up and down steps are a little tough. Put bike on lift bent back crash bars put a little chrome paint on the road rash glued some plastic pieces back together and it looks good. Thanks Craig
  16. Hi Deb we just got back Friday from the Hills hope you had a great time we did. Craig
  17. This last Friday 7-2 we were on are way home from a wonderful trip to the Black Hill. Pulled into a Flying J truck stop in Sioux Falls SD for gas. Go to turn in and down we go slid about 15 feet on its side, bike and trailer do a 180 and I laid in the middle of intersection wife step off the bike as it went down and didn't get hurt. My left knee hurt pretty bad . Come to find out a truck driver that had filled up forgot to put there cap back on and as he turned the corner to leave spilled out fuel on to the pavement and it splashed into the turning lane. No one seen who spilled the fuel. I didn't see it and when I braked and turned it was just like ice and down we went. After about an hour of talking to the manager, police and EMTs we get on bike and finish our last 250 miles. Go to hospital that night to have knee checked out find out I have a deep tear in my calf muscle and little road rash. The lesson is WATCH THE INTERSECTION AT TRUCK STOPS . Everyone be careful and have a safe summer I know I am going to pay more attention to the my turns in to fuel stops from now on.
  18. A friend Jim Long of Decorah was hit in Decorah on Monday. Jim has been riding for many years and is a skilled rider . Jim was turning on to a street and was hit by a van. The strange thing is the van had only a half block run at him and the damage and injury were great. I just found out today his injuries Fractured skull, broken neck, broken ribs, punctured lung, and a broken back. He has been put into a coma because of pain. We don't know the whole story as of today only one side of it the police are investigating it. This is the article in paper not much news. The Decorah Police Department is seeking information from anyone who witnessed an accident involving a motorcycle and van Monday at about 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of River Street and Day Spring Lane in Decorah. According to Police, James E. Long, 64, Decorah, was driving his motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle driven by Hyon Lee, 51, Decorah. Long was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance, then transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Lee was not injured. Long was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary's. An investigation is continuing. Anyone with more information regarding the accident should call Assistant Police Chief Bill Nixon at 382-3667.
  19. I think this would be a good idea. I will try to make it.
  20. Thanks for the ideas I will just have to keep after them. Also the bike is in the garage the wife is in the house and we don't have a cat at least not any more.
  21. After the cat deal I said Skid has a good idea put it in the house. After about an hour of making the door wider I got it in the kitchen. Then the wife come home she was madder than the cat, she said either the bike goes or she does. I hope she don't get to cold in the garage with that damn cat.
  22. I tried to shove the cat in that hole buy the triple trees it was not happy after the bleeding stopped I went in the house.
