  4. At least an SEC team won the trophy and not one of those OTHER conferences that think they know how to play football. LOL. I know that will fire someone up LOL. I wish it would fire my team up (Clay Hounds from Athens, Ga.) . They were supposed to have been in the big game in the beginning of the year but Florida and Alabama got in the way. Let’s see who goes the highest in the draft now!!! Aint it fun!!!!
  5. Does anyone have a left engine cover(shifter side) in good shape they want to sell? I could sure use one. Please let me know. THANKS!!
  6. Thanks!!! The cover that I broke is the left main cover that has the shift lever comming out of it. I will check on E-Bay to see if I can find one . Anybody want to sell one? 7. Well I broke it!!! I changed out friction plates on the clutch on the '87 Venture and lined up the double notches on the clutch boss and put every thing back together the way it came off and after riding it everything was smooth untill it came time to find neutral and it jumped to 2nd. I kept trying to find neutrol untill the housing that holds the shift shaft broke. I have two questions. What would cause the scoot to have a hard to find neutrol after the clutch change and where can I find a new/used housing. I have brought the scoot with me (back of truck) along with the family to SW Florida to do some riding this week and am bummed. Any ideas? Please help with some feedback. Thanks a bunch you guys!!!!
  8. Just replaced clutch disks and clutch lever is tight and will not squeeze. I may have squeezed it while the disks where off and no pressure plate or retainer screws where in place. What do I do? What would have this thing hemmed up to where clutch will no work? I am stumped!!! Would someone please spread some great clutch knowledge my way? You guys are great!!Thanks!!!!!!
  9. Does anyone know how tight (Ft pounds) to get the 6 bolts that hold the diaphram pressure plate on a 87 VR??? I need to put it back together and just found out the correct torque is not listed in the operators manuel. Thanks!!!!
  10. If I were looking for a refurbished GPS for the bike what is the best, easyest to read, water resistant, user friendly, biggest screen for quick viewing, best software, out there? It seams like every few months the price comes down and they get better. Do most people use all the extras that come with the higher priced ones? What is the web sight that has them for sale? Many Thanks for any help.
  11. Congrats to the new couple!! Is that moonshine in those mason jars behind the wedding cake???:rotf:
  12. OK. Be careful with that starting fluid. Bad things will happen to your valves using that stuff. If you look under the cover where you put your fuel in you will see your fuse bank there. Look at all of them to see if a fuse is blown. If blown replace with correct amp fuse and try it. If that blows the fuel pump is probably blown and needs replaceing . Of course check for any short on wire first. If you go to the main forum page and scroll down to tech. library find the tab for 1st. gen. manual and there you will find all the stuff there is on the scoot. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Oh yea ,get some sea foam in there asap. Scott
  13. My fleet of trucks in my company is all GM's. I love 'em, I got to have 'em, and feel good when I buy American. I need the big Dura Max diesels to haul the loads around the farm and to get on the road with but I would be lost if I had to go get a cab over or some other foreign truck in the future. What a waist.
  14. Payment on its way today!! thanks!!
  15. Yea just in time for Cristmas, can't wait to see them. Thanks Condor for all that you have done!

Thats how you make do with what ya got.
  17. This sounds like brake oil on the pads from bleeding. Change those pads and be carefull not to get oil on the new pads. You can connect a small hose to the bleeder screw to direct oil away from pads. Good luck!!!
  18. A little paint and some Sea- Foam she ought a fire right up!
  19. Anybody knows where I can get a bike cover for my 87 VR? I have it cleaned up and don’t want any dust to get on it. I plan to ride some when the temp is above 60. We will see. Thanks
  20. Nice job! I will take one. Keep me posted.
  21. No, I mangled the screw trying to loosen the screw not knowing the threads on the right side were left handed. So I plan to go from the #10 x 1.25 to a 7/16 bolt sae right hand thread and put a 3/4 x 7/16 stainless socket cap screw in place. This should work. Thanks for all the help! Everyone is very helpful here. I wish I could say the same about the local dealer, they wont even look at a bike that is over 10 years old but I love the challenges this bike gives me when problems arise and I know I can ask a question here and have it very accurately answered. Great Job!!!!
  22. I am still looking. I may decide to drill and retap to standard thread and get away from this left hand thread stuff. Thanks for all the help!!!!
  23. Does anyone know where I can find a left and a right threaded #10 , 1.25 thread , about 3/4" long stainless allen cap screw? These go where the mirrors would fit on the flange of an 87' VR at each reservoir on the handle bars. They hold down covers and other controls on the handlebars. Mine are stripped out. Thanks for the help!!
