    I ended that prob by giving my wife the money to take the motorcycle traing course at the local college. She rides her own bike so all she can sqeeze is her tank. And her rear looks nice on the bike seat. No wander I like to ride tailgunner. David

    Keep a good eye on the limbs of the barnett. I hunt with a friend who has had 3 limbs crack in the last 2 years. The didn't break on him as he found tthem during inspection of the weapon.Barnett fixed them wright away. David Ps.. good luck out there and be safe. Wish we could hunt with a crossbow. I'm the last in my group to not get one but I can still pull and hold a 40 lbd bow so I am leagal. David

    I guess its all in opinions and alos location................ As for me I wouldnt take anything over the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although I have never been there on a bike I have seen the Rockies , Glacier Mountains and a lot of other Northern Mountain rranges I cant remember the names of. A little place caleed Nigh (spelling) Montana is beautiful. Little river that feeds directly form the thawing mountain snowpeaks. David

    haven't tried it in the bike yet, but i do run it in all of my other vehicles. It does work but I'm not sur eof 30 degree drop in temp. David

    yep it was the plastic 90 and it was already patched as a new one is around $50-$60 bucks counting o-rings. GUess i'll try to patch it again. If that dont work then I'll have to wait. The parts would have to be orderd. I do like the idea of grinding the tabs off though. My biggest worry was as I'm no mechanic, Could there have been any damage to the motor due to the 2 hours it was on it side. Talked to a friend who is a mechanic today and he said the chance of motor problems was slim to none. That made my day. David

    Just got a call tonight from the wife. I'm working out of town and my wife called me earlier and told me that a storm sent my bike over on its side. It spent about 1 -2 hours on its side till a friend could get over to the house and stand it back up. HE said the bilke cranked wright up after a quick check of the oil. No coolant as he could tell. When he cranked it up it immediately started leaking. Seems it broke the water pipe yet again. Is there anything that can be done to strenthen the highway/engine guards on a first gen.?? And for all the mechanics out there. Are there anything other than cosmetics I should look for ?? My buddy has his license and rides regular so he took it for a short ride and everything tracked well and seemed to function normally. He's out as many miles on this bike as I have so he knows how it works. Any help or ideas will be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance. David ps.I was going to send funds to the oops I dropped it club but since the wind did it I sent the $5 to the ope fund instead.

    ok folks. I am in need of the cable that hooks to the bike that the lower headset cable hooks in to. Not sure of the name of the part but as I am sitting on the bike its in front of me on the left. I had a short in the cable and when I pulled the lower headset cable out the end of the plug came with it. I tried to rewire it but not knowing which color wire goes where I was afraid to mess something up. So if anybody is parting out a first gen and know if the cable you have is compatable with my 91 vr let me know. I would rather buy my part from friends instead of a stealor..     hey Nate, Hate to hear about this. I'll keep you in my prayers. AS a member of the bigD club, believe all you have been told. At times you will fill likle you can't go on. Thats what we are for, so dont hesitate to lean hard. My first wife left me and I wanderd what I was going to do. WHy when and all the other questions. Best you can do is learn and love. those kids will need eben more of it now. In the end for me, what i thopught was the worst heartache I could have was not even near the worst. I enedede up with my solemate so all works out for the best. Lean hard and we will hold you and yours up. Hope our prayers help, David
