ok just one more suggestion....my carry waepon when I had the ccw liscence was a ruger dc95 in 9mm. A little on the larger size with a 3.9 inch barrel but I still have it and with practice it is a tack driver at short yardage. ANd the wife loves the feel of this weapon. When I sold all of my carry weapons this is the one she asked me to keep. Just a suggestion. Like I said its a little large but with the wright shoulder rig or waist holster it worked great. David

hey folks sorry it took so long. WE finally got home and after a fet Knap( Fat man knappin). I put some pics on the photobucket. Not sure what happened as a few of them copied twice but oh well. We had a great time and as always the hospitality of the sleeperhawks was priceless. From the very first time they met us we were treated as they knew us from birth. Thank you George and Bobbie. Gary, Earl thanks thats the answer I was trying to find..Ill take the one I have back and see what I can come up with..........jsut haveing a hard time finding one and everybody says the K&N is a good filter Ive just never been satisfied with them..........had a few K&N airfilter come apart so Im gun shy and the cost in my opinion is a little steep. David

Carl and Outcast maybey discontinued is the wrong word.....advance auto does not carry them in the store and whenI tried to order on from them they told me they couldnt get them anymore and then tried to sell me the K&N............Ill try another advance tommorow . Tahnks guys.....Ive got the ch6003 in hand and was wandering if it would work till I can get a few orderd to have in the shed. David

OK everybody, Im getting ready to change the oil on my 91 vr. I found a web page that does oil filter cross reference(http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterXRef.html). It states that my bike should use the ch6002. And that is what I have been using since I bought the bike 3 yrs ago. Now for my problem. The ch6002 is no longer available and all that can be found to order from yamah dealor or auto stores is the K&N replacement at almost $15. Im cheap and woould love to find a better option. I looked at the specs on the canister filters and the ch6002 and the ch6003 are almost identical in dementions. Will the ch6003 filter work as they are readily available and cost less than $5? Nay sugestions will be apreciated. I seem to remeber a post that said these 2 filters were intercahngable but want to make sure before I take it apart and try. Tahnks in advance. David

Ok folks Im coming to better minds than myself for this. I just used seafoam in my wifes 01 explorer in the crankcase. Ran it a while to get the oil up to ooperating temerater and then drained it while it was still hot. No problems and all seems to be fine. WHile I was waiting for things to drain I reread the side of the sea faom can. It says you can add it to the crannkcase at 1 1/2 onces to quart of oil and leave it in for prolonged cleanig. Is this adverse to the engine or will I be ok to do this. The explorer has almost 150,000 miles on her and still going strong so I dont want to mess things up but would love to have the peace of mind that Im doing all I can to keep it clean on the inside of the motor at least. Any other ideas will be apreciated also. As soon as we get themoney we will also have it uned up completely as its on the original wires and plugs. David

the wife and I are goping riding today so now Ill have to pick a new destination. We had planned on heading up a historical/scenic highway here 2 towns over(gibsonville) to see the local historical site and gets pics in front of the civil war general( I think hes a general) mounted on horse back in bronze. May still go as we pass 3 old metal water towers between here and there. David

hey MArk, hope to see you at asheville this year. Im going to try to make it but not sure(having carpals tunnell surgery on both hands in may and june). Glad to hear you got a tire as I now how it is mines been down since sept last year for clutch and need of a new tire. Got muffinman to fix clutch whenI finally put the money tigether and my beautiful wife surprised me at the first of the week by saving here run-on money and getting me a rear tire on last fri. So need less to say we went for a ride last night. David

my main hobby outside of riding and making my wife smile is hunting. It gives me a chance to be alone and calm down from the rat race. ANd as the wife and I only eat about 2 deer a year it also gives me a chance to help others in need. David
