  1. There's also a good article in the tech library. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=508
  2. Found some at J&P but I sure can't tell what comes in a set or how many. Not very well described at all. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=9A68C00D-CBFC-4B2A-AC55-A785945B47E6
  3. Wish I could have been there. Anything that involves eating Mexican food works for me. Thanks for the pictures. Very nice.
  4. I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for. Do you mean the chrome plugs that snap into the end of allen screws?
  5. I've never seen any. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen them for anything except sport bikes. Don't know if anything would interchange or not.
  6. Yes, I think it is possible that it will run OK but I do think that you should notice the excess heat. I wouldn't worry about the Bubs. The only thing done in this case that would concern me is the re-jetting of the carbs. Re-jetting is not an exact science and often takes come experimenting and testing to get exactly right. I personally don't think that re-jetting is at all necessary when changing mufflers or air filters on these bikes and many of us here have done both with no problems with the factory jets.
  7. If the temp sensor and everything is working properly and if the fan is coming on when it should then it sure sounds like you are running VERY lean and causing the engine to overheat. If that is the case, then you really need to get it corrected ASAP.
  8. hmmm....that truly surprises me. I never had my rev limiter kick in at that speed and have actually downshifted at close to that speed and that was before I installed the Dyna3000, no way will the rev limiter get me now.
  9. You can find them on CD on Ebay or you can get the same thing here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1828
  10. Haven't notice but I'll bet it's still painted over. That will make it fun...sort of like a scavenger hunt.
  11. I've had mine close to 115 MPH. That is true speed, I have a speedohealer that corrects the speedometer error. That was also in 4th gear. These bikes will actually run faster in 4th than in 5th. At least when they are stock. I have since added a VMAX rear end so it may do it in 5th now.

  13. OK folks...I guess I'll upgrade the software here early next week. I will be going to PA on Monday and after I get checked into the hotel on Monday night, I will probably do it then. That is assuming that I get a good Internet connection at the hotel. This is a fairly major upgrade and will require that I shut down the forum for long enough to get the main scripts installed. If everything goes right, the site shouldn't be down for more than 15 minutes. I PROMISE to do a very good backup before starting. Once I have the major scripts installed, I can turn the forum back on and it will be functional but some of my customizations here will be missing until I get them all working again. There are a lot of changes in the programming and I am afraid that many of my customizations will not work without some major modifications to them. I really won't know what will work and what don't until I get started. So, you have been warned. I promise to keep the downtime as short as possible. Though I don't suspect any major problems with getting it installed and operational again, I expect a couple or more very late nights before I get things the way they are again.

  15. Man...it's been so long ago that I really don't remember. I THINK they were 3/4".
  16. Well that should be not EASILY changeable. I did change the one in my Ipod. Don't know if there is a similar method for the IPhone or not.
  17. Well folks...I have a sad admission to make. My bike has yet to be out of the garage this year. I'm usually gone all week and when I get home, I try to get the spring stuff around here done. Yard work, repairs, etc. I've had a couple of beautiful days when I wanted to ride and then decided to work on the yard or do some other work around the house thinking I would ride the next day. Then the next day it always ends up raining and then I'm on the road again. Got in around 2:00 this morning after battling flight delays and etc. all day and now it's raining here. I sure hope to ride again one of these days.
  18. Won't be tonight though. Right now I'm stuck at the airport in Chicago. Flight has been delayed 4 times so far. I HOPE to get home sometime tonight but won't be doing any upgrading. Probaby do it warly next week.
  19. I can't really tell you a good place to buy the Harley lights. I bought mine so long ago that I don't even remember where I got them but I think I paid about $140.00 for them. Since then it seems that they have been in the $160.00 range. They do show up on Ebay from time to time so I would recommend that you do a search there. Installation is very simple. We can easily guide you through it if you want to do it yourself. Only takes a few minutes.
  20. I just changed it to give you those options. It MAY affect the server to the point that I have to undo the change but we'll give it a try. The possibility is that if too many people use the higher numbers, it could increase page load times and therefore the load on the server.
  21. I think you'll find chrome or black plastic at Home Depot in the Misc. Hardware drawers in the bolt and fastener area. Just the push/snap in type. For the permanent ones on the trailer, just use a bit of clear silicon around the hole before snapping them in and they should seal the holes just fine.
  22. I've never given it a lot of thought in regards to right or wrong. It's always just been a preference for me. I like riding the centerline. My wife HATES me riding the center line. I think that riding the line or the far right is OK but riding the middle of the lane has always been the most dangerous and not recommended. That is likely to be the slickest part of the road due to auto oil leaks and etc.
  23. As I was headed back to my hotel today, I noticed a Midnight RSV sitting at the local Yamaha dealer just a few buildings down from my hotel. I stopped and me the owner. Very nice guy and he rides a 2003 Midnight. I gave him the information about our site and hope that he joins us soon. His wife rides also.

OK...scroll down on this page and you'll see what you are looking for I think. I don't know WHY I had such a hard time finding this again. I probably spent over two hours searching here and on the Internet in general. I think I'll add it to our links page this time. http://www.badgemaker2.com/web_store/web_store.cgi?page=mc_plates.html&category=yes&cart_id=
