  1. If you've never split the fairing, removed the tank, etc. I would figure a couple of hours.
  2. Yes, you will get total silence with the mic mute. Same as turning the intercom down all the way. I too have experienced the same thing that you did with the clicking and the intercom turned up. I was able to get rid of it by slightly moving the wires under the left side of the gas tank but not everybody has had success with that. I have the Mic Mute now and no longer have to worry about it though.
  3. HEY...I GOT A ROOM. Not only that...but this one has a hot tub, the champagne is on ice....life is GOOD. Eileen is taking a little nap right now but when she wakes up, the champagne will be cold....I drove to the store and picked up some boiled shrimp and cocktail sauce......even got some ice cream to prove that we ARE VentureRiders.
  4. Well..I've not been online much the past couple of days. Eileen and I are still away and won't be home until Sunday night. She is sleeping in this morning so I was checking my email and saw a few donations and was very surprised. I then came across this post and understood what triggered them. I just want to say that they are MUCH appreciated. Those of you who know me well know that I do NOT do this for the money. To be honest, if I did, I would have shut it down long ago. I do this because i enjoy it and I love the family that has been created here. It does get expensive at times though and money is a bit tight at times so the donations are sincerely appreciated. I may have created this monster but it is all of YOU who have made it what it is. I feel that I am very blessed to have so many very good friends. I hope to meet many more of you in person in 2009. Thanks Much, Don
  5. The good news is that my Garmin Zumo 550 arrived today. The bad news is that it arrived about 2 hours after I left. That's life. My son called to tell me that it had arrived but Eileen and I had already left for our 4 day anniversary vacation. It gives me something to look forward to when I get home though. Except for all of that: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY VENTURERIDER FRIENDS!
  6. Or....just type the text that you want and then after you type it, highlight it and THEN click on the "link" icon and type in the URL. It will add it to the text that you had highlighted.
  7. hmmm....heck with the chat room...I'm going to Steve's house.
  8. I like it. I bought my wife a Virago 535 a few years ago. She rode it a bit but didn't like the way it felt. Had a lot of rake to the front end. It was a cool bike though. As for resizing the pics. If you make them a max of 640 x 480 and under 200,000 bytes they should work fine. Check the "Computer Help" section of the forum for some good suggestions and links.
  9. I love it. The rear fenders are a GREAT compliment to the original lines of the RSV. Very nice.
  10. LOL....that WAS funny. Apparently he does NOT appreciate the finer points of vintage audio technology.
  11. WOW....works GREAT for me. I can't afford to trade and now I don't want to.
  12. How many miles does the bike have on it? I don't know that EVERYBODY here would agree but in my opinion, the valves should be checked around 40,000. They will most likely be fine and then I don't think I would check them again until at least 100,000.
  13. Confirmed. Thanks guys. It helps a LOT.
  14. Yep, I'm here but sorry, I'm no longer making them.
  15. Very good. I also copied the original post to the "General Tech Library"
  16. Well...I typically get at least a short ride in on the 1st...sort of a annual tradition for me. I'm going to miss it this year though because Eileen and I are going out of town for a few days leaving Wednesday. Today is our 14th wedding anniversary so we are going to celebrate it somewhere.
  17. I've never seen one. I just did a search and it looks like a good solution. All the descriptions state that you can punch out the back to route your wires but NONE of the pictures actually show it with the wires coming out so I have no idea.
  18. As for the tune up, there really isn't that much to do. Change the plugs and sync the carbs is the main thing. Many dealers don't do such a great job with the carbs. Many, maybe MOST of us, do our own. You can buy a carb sync tool for about what the dealer will charge you to do it and it's a simple job.
  19. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but in my opinion, the best solution is the Carbon_One Deluxe Lift Adapter with the legs. You will need a standard motorcycle lift first though. Then just put the adapter under the bike, lift it with a motorcycle lift, install the legs and then remove the lift. IF you have room on the sides to slide the lift under it to start with.
  20. OK...here it is: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=176169#post176169
  21. Yes, I remember somebody putting that together. I'll just have to do a search now and find it.
  22. By the way...I noticed that the Honda, Kawasaki, etc. files are .csv but the Yamaha is gpx Will either format work?
  23. Thanks Dennis. That is exactly what I was looking for.
  24. OK folks...as I await the arrival of m Zumo 550, I'm already trying to learn about it. I rode with a guy one day that had all the Yamaha Dealers installed as POIs. Do any of you know where I can get that file? Are there other interesting POIs that I should know about? Thanks
  25. There have been some recent requests for the VentureRider flags. We have been out of these for some time now and it was time to make them available again. Details are in the VentureRider Merchandise forum area at: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=285603#post285603
