  1. I'm not saying NOTHING.
  2. There have been many times here where somebody has had questions about the proper way to re-solder the class controller on the first gen or other soldering jobs. I ran across this pretty good page on how to properly re-solder connections on circuit boards. Hopefully it will help some of our members who have not done much soldering. http://www.streettech.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=68
  3. Beautiful bike. I really like it. That does you no good at all though because I got no
  4. The polychromatic visors have been available or some time and I guess they work fine. I kind of like the idea of being about to instantly make it clear or tinted though instead of depending on the light to do it.
  5. I was surprised that he wanted his name changed...but I really didn't give a HOOT.
  6. Pretty interesting. A visor that will tint on demand. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/visors/akuma-gemini-aegis-visor/ Unfortunately, only for the manufacturers brand helmet though.
  7. I'll be happy to do that. Do you know what the actual discount is?
  8. I've always planned to take them off as I really don't like the looks of it either. I've just never gotten around to it though. I've never had to remove it to get to the seat bolt though.
  9. Hey folks...I know that it's still very early but those of you who know your coming, please be sure and RSVP at the calendar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=106&day=2009-5-30&c=1
  10. Well folks...I was TRYING to keep it all a secret but I guess the cat's out of the bag now. So...here's the deal. That is the future site of the VentureRider Club Commune. Hope you'll join me there for a LONG party.
  11. Or you can have it shipped right to my house. Installation is quick and easy. UNLESS you end up with the Hitch Doc...that things a PAIN.
  12. HEY...just say the word and we'll BAN HIM. How about THAT. We just BAN him and be DONE with it.
  13. I pretty much agree with you. BUT....buy the progressive hand pump anyway. There have been many times when I've had the need to adjust and/or check the pressure in my shocks while on a trip. Unless you plan to tow your air compressor around, you will find the money for the hand pump to be well spent.
  14. I'm only cooking ONE steak. I'll try to see that everybody gets a bite though.
  15. Thanks Tom, I hadn't see that one before. I just ordered one from them. I'll let you all know what I think of it after I get it installed.
  16. Here's one for the RSV. Won't be exactly the same but probably very similar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7830
  17. Eck, Sorry if I was misunderstood. I wasn't asking the members here to turn things off. It DOES save bandwidth for site but that was not my point. It was a suggestion to Gerald for saving HIS bandwidth.
  18. I too would bet that it's a stuck float. Tapping on the bowl will often free them up but sometimes you actually end up having to pull the carb and clean it out real well. You might try some Seafoam right into the throat body and let it sit for a while then more tapping.
  19. The Venture Touring Society was certainly the original owner's group for the Venture. They are now called the Motorcycle Touring Association and are an "all brands" club. I am still a member and they are a great group. Wish their website would get more active though. http://www.mtariders.com
  20. I understand how you feel. 5 GB is a good bit, depending on what you are all doing. You may be OK. I fight that all the time here. VentureRider.org is allowed 100 GB a month data transfer. We have gone as high as 90 GB and I was starting to get worried but most of the time we are around 80 GB. I'm sure there will be a time when I have to increase it and that means more One thing you can do here is to go into your UserCP "edit options" and turn off avatars, signatures and images. That will help a good bit on this site.
  21. I agree. I wouldn't worry about it. You have a lot of warranty left and if there are any major problems. they will show up long before it runs out.
  22. I think that they were actually made by Rivco. Unfortunately, Rivco has ceased production on most of that stuff.
  23. I was talking to a truck driver last week. He drives for FedX and told me that a lot of the large trucking companies are laying drivers off. He also told me that DHL is completely giving up on the US market. The DHL part really doesn't surprise me. I've NEVER had a good experience with their service.
  24. I would like to think that they would respond but don't get your hopes up. Yamaha Canada attended our rally there and were a fantastic group of folks. Yamaha USA won't give us the time of day. I've written to them, emailed them, etc. inviting them to visit our site. I know that they have but I've never gotten a single response from Yamaha.
  25. Yes, got it thanks. I am on the road until Thursday. Will get it out on Friday.
