  1. Headed home today folks. Had post op follow ups yesterday and the rings that they implanted in my eyes appear to be good and correctly located. Had an appointment at the Proton Therapy Center where they formed the mask that I will wear when I return for the treatments. I have some moderate pain in the eye from the surgery but not too bad and it should bet better soon. Have managed to stay off the pain pills except for one time the day of the surgery. Should be home either tonight or tomorrow, depending upon how far we feel like driving today. Will return on the 20th for the radiation treatments. All is going as well as we could have hoped. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. Don
  2. Folks, this is really not that complicated. It is a PG site. Most folks know when they are crossing the line and some seem to take pleasure in seeing how close they can get to that line. VERY few but some. Some things that get deleted are jokes that cross the line and are too sexual in nature. Discussions that turn into personal attacks between just a couple of members. If it gets to that point, take it offline please. There is nothing to prove to all the other members if you get in a spat with another member. Sometimes your post may get deleted if it is in response to another one and you "quote" it in your response. Does little good to delete a post and leave yours if that original post is quoted within it. Come on folks...we've been around for almost 5 years now, most of you KNOW where the line is.
  3. OK folks. I found that they had updated the chat software but I'm still not convinced that is the problem. They are supposed to have found an issue with the new version and and will be uploading a fix hopefully today. They said that it only affects IE though and not Firefox and I thinks some of you with Firefox were having a problem also. I use Firefox and it seems to be loading fine but I haven't tried chatting with anybody. Anyway, please give it another try later today or tonight. Don
  4. I just got right into our chat. Nobody was there so couldn't test it. Will keep trying to figure out what is wrong but no more tonight folks....sorry...I'm off to bed.
  5. Sorry about the chat problem folks. I did send a message to our chat host company this morning but have not heard back. I'm afraid it will have to wait a couple of days.......just can't get to it right now.
  6. Just got back to hotel. Surgery was OK as far as I know. Have another appointment with the doctor tomorrow so will know more then. Sorry folks, from the anesthesia and pain meds I'm a bit out of it right now. More tomorrow night hopefully.

  8. I've opened a trouble ticket with our chat hosting company. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
  9. If you are talking about the actual procedure, try this link. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258
  10. Escapade makes a great trailer. I think you did good.
  11. OK folks...I just got it to work. I don't know what has changed but here is what I did. In the menu bar of IE, click on "Tools", "Options" then the privacy tab. Click on "Sites" and add http://www.venturerider.org/forum/123flashchat.php and then "Allow". That worked for me. I'll still try to find out what might have changed that now requires this entry. Don
  12. I just tried it from here....also with IE8 and it wouldn't load. Works fine with Firefox. I've emailed the host and will hopefully have an answer soon. Getting ready to get on the road again though so won't be able to check in again until later this evening.
  13. I just tried it with my Firefox and it worked fine. I'll shoot an email to the chat host and see if they are having an issue with IE.
  14. Finally got around to doing mine yesterday. Got the emails this morning that both had been accepted. Just wanted to get them done because I don't know what the next few weeks will be like. Eileen in I left for Boston today. At a hotel in Syracuse, NY tonight and will drive on into Boston tomorrow.

I don't understand this attitude. One thing we have always done here is to try and watch each other's backs. There have been PLENTY of times when a member here wasn't aware of one law or another and they often appreciate the heads up. Sorry, I think you are being unreasonable and out of line. Just my opinion.
  16. Yes, and not only that but some lakes will allow electric motors but no gas motors. Findley State Park just down the road from me is that way. Nice lake but only electric motors are allowed.
  17. John, If you happen to have the old one with only the tabs broken, I would be interested in it. Mine somehow got cracked on the end and there is a piece missing.
  18. Now WHY are you getting so serious about this. What part of "I am offering it up in the spirit of FUN" did you not get?
  19. The rider can turn off the rear cylinder as he wishes if he or she is sitting at a stop light, in a parade, etc. The '09's have it where you roll back on the throttle to deactivate the cylinder. Also, there were changes made on the '09 Ultra that I understand drastically reduced the heat felt by the rider and passenger. A new frame design and the re-routing of the exhaust pipes. From what I've heard, it helped a LOT.
  20. Jeff, I've had no experience with them but I would be giving them a call. Though there was no phone number listed at the milwaukee site, I did find a number at the californialeatherwear site. 858-603-4897 7
  21. I'm not 100% sure but I think Baron's is the only place that sells them. If it is, then it should have a caliper relocation bracket also.
  22. Very nice. Glad you found what you wanted. Hope it brings you many miles of smiles.
  23. I think they are both beautiful bikes. Goldwing will win hands down in regards to performance and they are a beautiful bike. I just love the classic Harley look and the sound. For me, it would be the Ultra Classic but that's just because I love the style and I even like the offbeat shake of the engine.
  24. I agree...if this is going to turn into a nasty confrontation, take it elsewhere please.
