I've got a set of sockets that work on my half inch drive rachet. I find that they are much better on those tight bolts than the typical allen wrenches.

I like mine too. I've had it for probably 4 years and have tuned MANY carbs with it. Take it apart and clean it from time to time and I think it will continue to give you many years of reliable service.

I've got no problem with what you are saying and in fact, we have helped a number of people here and have donated lot's to St. Judes. I HOPE this is different though. I'm honestly not asking for charity but only for those who find value is what is being provided here help support it. Just like you would subscribe to a magazine, satellite radio, cable TV, anything that brings you joy and information. I didn't build this for that reason but now have been pushed into taking that route with it. I hope that makes some sense.

I have no problem with ZFactors comments. Heck...they pretty much mirror how I feel about it myself. My dream was that this site always be 100% free. I agree with much of what he said and will be looking at ways to offer a free trial membership that will automatically expire at the end of the trial period. Shouldn't be much of a problem to implement. My plan right now is to make the changes to the forum in 30 days. That should give everybody who wishes to join time to do so. Over the next few days and couple of weeks, I will be considering various options.

I just checked your profile and it doesn't show that you have an avatar uploaded or selected. Posting from your cell phone shouldn't make any difference, the info is pulled from your profile. Did you create a new profile? If so, what was your old username that did have an avatar, I could merge them.

Good to be back but unfortunately, it's only for about a week. Back to Boston next weekend to start the radiation treatments on Monday. I found that the chat service had updated the software and our chat server was moved to another server. So...all my code to link it to our members database and etc. was no longer correct. Would have been nice to know that BEFORE they moved it. Anyway, I think I've about got it all sorted out now. Still a couple little bugs that I'm working on but it appears to be working again. I'm finding it very irritating to work on the coding with one eye. My right eye has a patch right now due to the surgery. I remove the patch once in the morning and once in the evening to put drops and a salve in it. Really looks UGLY right now. Plus, it gets full of crap and I have to carefully pry it open to put the drops and salve in. Not a pretty site.

OK...forum home page seems to be displaying who is in chat correctly now. Still working on the options menu within the chat. Don't know what is going on with that.

Seems to be OK with IE and Firefox. Only thing I'm not sure about is the status "who is chatting" at the bottom of the forum home page. Not sure it's working. Will watch and figure it out if not.

OK folks...I got home around 10:30 last night and then couldn't sleep. So...I decided to work on the chat room and I THINK it is working now. Please give it a try when you get a chance and let me know.

It's real simple for me folks. I'm not going to waste my time sending a PM or email to a person who has posted something that had to be removed. Our rules here are too simple and it's just not that difficult to comply. Anybody who has been around any length of time surely knows what is and what is not acceptable. For those few who feel that they need to constantly push the envelope, I am not going to waste time trying to explain it to them. There have been some exceptions. I've had to remove a few threads that should have been just fine until somebody had to twist it around into a political statement. Sometimes it was a joke, just a comment, whatever. Within a few posts it turned into something that it should not have. In those few cases, I have send a PM to the person who started the thread to let them know that it was deleted but not really because of their original post. I've seen MANY times where somebody even STARTED their thread with something like "OK...I know this is political but I've just got to ............" There is no excuse for that. You know you are starting something but you decided to do it anyway. There have been a number of jokes lately that were obviously across the line. Black Owl deleted about three of them just before posting this thread and I appreciate him doing so. Sorry folks, but we are NOT going to waste our time sending you a message if your post gets deleted. None of you are stupid. If your posts gets deleted then you are surely smart enough to remember what you had posted and know to not push it that far again. That's about all I have to say about this. There should be no debate about it.

Headed home today folks. Had post op follow ups yesterday and the rings that they implanted in my eyes appear to be good and correctly located. Had an appointment at the Proton Therapy Center where they formed the mask that I will wear when I return for the treatments. I have some moderate pain in the eye from the surgery but not too bad and it should bet better soon. Have managed to stay off the pain pills except for one time the day of the surgery. Should be home either tonight or tomorrow, depending upon how far we feel like driving today. Will return on the 20th for the radiation treatments. All is going as well as we could have hoped. Folks, this is really not that complicated. It is a PG site. Most folks know when they are crossing the line and some seem to take pleasure in seeing how close they can get to that line. VERY few but some. Some things that get deleted are jokes that cross the line and are too sexual in nature. Discussions that turn into personal attacks between just a couple of members. If it gets to that point, take it offline please. There is nothing to prove to all the other members if you get in a spat with another member. Sometimes your post may get deleted if it is in response to another one and you "quote" it in your response. Does little good to delete a post and leave yours if that original post is quoted within it. Come on folks...we've been around for almost 5 years now, most of you KNOW where the line is.

OK folks. I found that they had updated the chat software but I'm still not convinced that is the problem. They are supposed to have found an issue with the new version and and will be uploading a fix hopefully today. They said that it only affects IE though and not Firefox and I thinks some of you with Firefox were having a problem also. I use Firefox and it seems to be loading fine but I haven't tried chatting with anybody. Anyway, please give it another try later today or tonight. Don

I just got right into our chat. Nobody was there so couldn't test it. Will keep trying to figure out what is wrong but no more tonight folks....sorry...I'm off to bed.

Sorry about the chat problem folks. I did send a message to our chat host company this morning but have not heard back. I'm afraid it will have to wait a couple of days.......just can't get to it right now.

Just got back to hotel. Surgery was OK as far as I know. Have another appointment with the doctor tomorrow so will know more then. Sorry folks, from the anesthesia and pain meds I'm a bit out of it right now. More tomorrow night hopefully.
