windsheild help
Freebird replied to scooterman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
John, If you happen to have the old one with only the tabs broken, I would be interested in it. Mine somehow got cracked on the end and there is a piece missing. -
Now WHY are you getting so serious about this. What part of "I am offering it up in the spirit of FUN" did you not get?

The rider can turn off the rear cylinder as he wishes if he or she is sitting at a stop light, in a parade, etc. The '09's have it where you roll back on the throttle to deactivate the cylinder. Also, there were changes made on the '09 Ultra that I understand drastically reduced the heat felt by the rider and passenger. A new frame design and the re-routing of the exhaust pipes. From what I've heard, it helped a LOT.

Jeff, I've had no experience with them but I would be giving them a call. Though there was no phone number listed at the milwaukee site, I did find a number at the californialeatherwear site. 858-603-4897 7

I'm not 100% sure but I think Baron's is the only place that sells them. If it is, then it should have a caliper relocation bracket also.

I think they are both beautiful bikes. Goldwing will win hands down in regards to performance and they are a beautiful bike. I just love the classic Harley look and the sound. For me, it would be the Ultra Classic but that's just because I love the style and I even like the offbeat shake of the engine.

I agree...if this is going to turn into a nasty confrontation, take it elsewhere please.
-
That was my question too. I could just ride over to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, that would mean going into downtown Cleveland so I think I'll pass on that idea.

Say what you want but I got plenty of tickets when I was younger and a few lectures instead of tickets. I prefer the lecture thank you and some of them DID sink into my thick skull.

Beautiful bike Eck and one of my favorite colors. WOW...now not only do we have a Wing rider organizing our '09 VentureRider Rally but also one of our MODERATORS riding a Wing. What has the world come to.

Wide Leather Tank Panel with Pocket

I have the Hopnel bib on mine but I too removed the rubber strip. Just didn't seem that the new one would lay down nice and smooth over the top of it. -
HEY....I had a '67 Tempest also. Blue with a 326 in it. Fenton aluminum wheels.
-
What bike do you ride? On my RSV, I spliced it into the wires inside the fairing that go to the power outlet.

OK folks...please don't make this political..I just thought it was an interesting concept and since I'm 54 years old, it WORKS for me. Now I'm just offering it up in the spirit of fun. I didn't take the time to check out the numbers and all that mess. Don't know if it all adds up or not but I doubt it. This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?" I thought this was the BEST idea. I think this guy nailed it! Dear Mr. President, Patriotic retirement: There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force; pay them $1 million apiece severance with three stipulations: 1. They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed. 2. They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed. 3. They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed. All National financial problems fixed!!!

I thought a long ago about making some of the pods. Before Robert passed away, he was selling a few of them. He was having them vacuum formed and selling them complete with gauges. When I looked into it after he passed away, I learned that his wife had sold the patent to somebody but they apparently never brought them back to market. I don't know what the legal ramifications would be at this point, that was several years ago. The company that I work for does vacuum forming of logos, letters, etc. I'm sure that I could get them made if I just had a mold.

Thanks Eck....I am still reading every post right now. That will end on Saturday though. Lobo Hurfiano...I went ahead and corrected the spelling for you.

windsheild help
Freebird replied to scooterman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Here's a thread that should help. You don't have to split the fairing so you can ignore the first part....just read through it ... starting about the third picture down. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=494 -
windsheild help

There are too screws that you remove from the top of the inner part of the fairing. They are the only two that hold the chrome strip on. There are some tabs on the chrome strip that break very easily so be careful as you work it off. If you break one, don't panic, there is an easy fix posted in the tech library. Once you get the chrome strip off, you will see the screws that hold the windshield on. Very easy to do. -
Actually, I think THIS ONE is true.

Very nice. This mod gets better all the time. I may have to take a closer look at mine the next time I have things apart. -

Beautiful bike. I know that we have another member with a triked MM also. Looks pretty much the same as yours. Can't remember now who it was dang it. I'm sure you will be very happy with it though. Hope to see it in person one of these days.
