  1. Carl, Let me know if you need me to help. I could order it for you and send it your way if you want me to. Don
  2. I've installed the lid covers. Yes, you have to remove the bags. Remove the locking hardware and then have fun. They are truly a PAIN to install but it works OK when you finally get all done. Be very careful because you being a man of god, there are likely some words that you will want to use that are not appropriate.
  3. Thanks folks. Just got home about an hour ago. All the tests went OK as far as I know. Tumor shows to be receding in size and they say that as long as it's getting smaller, then it is contained and not spreading also. So, the news is good for now. Back again in another 6 months. Sure does get old but I suppose it is necessary.
  4. Eileen and I just checked into our hotel in the Boston area. I have my one year checkup tomorrow to see how the cancer is doing. I'm not too worried about it, I am confident that things are going well. It was a long drive and we are tired but it was an OK trip. Weather is nice and it was a fairly relaxing drive. This was our first long trip in the 2011 Kia Sorento. Driving about 70 MPH most of the time and occasionally running close to 80 before catching myself and slowing down, it got about 27 MPG. I think that pretty decent for a AWD mid sized SUV. I'm very pleased with that. The 2004 Sorento that we traded in only got about 18 MPG under the same driving conditions.
  5. I just deleted the ad. Some people just never get around to it.
  6. I don't know what format you need but here is one. If you just want the older silver and black one, you can download a larger version of it here: http://www.venturerider.org/logo/logo.zip or here is another one in .eps format. Not sure which one it is: http://www.venturerider.org/logo/epslogo.zip
  7. OK...this is quickly turning political. I suspect it will have to be deleted in the very near future.
  8. Yep...you are certainly looking at some fork work. You gotta remember. Those springs are almost 30 years old. They have outlived their life by far. Most of the members here end up putting Progressive springs in the front. Do a search for "Progressive" and you'll find lots of into on them. Sounds like new fork seals are needed also. Here is a great article put together by Condor on installing the Progressive springs. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=505 and here is one by Fred Vogt with more pictures added by George S on replacing the seals. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=496
  9. OK...I've decided. I want this one but I want a trunk with integrated passenger backrest similar to the Venture or the Ultra Classic. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FLA-CUSTOM-ROCKET-III-CORBIN-CONVERSION-AWESOME-L-K-/360260245322?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item53e12f174a
  10. There is a small independent motorcycle repair and accessory store about 2 miles from my house. I noticed last week that they have a sign out front that says "We now have a Dyno". If anybody is interested, I'll see if they will offer us any deals for dyno runs during my Maintenance Day.
  11. Congrats...you have every right to be proud of what he has accomplished and thanks for sharing your joy with us. Now my philosophy is a bit different when it comes to exercise and working out: NO PAIN...NO PAIN
  12. Good luck Annie. I hope all goes well. You've been through enough already.
  13. Yep...that is a true friend. Now I've done it too but for me, it was a financial decision. After maintenance day a couple of years ago, Sleeperhawk's bike stopped running. We traced it down to a bad relay. This was on a Sunday so there were no Yamaha shops open and I doubt that the local shop would have had the relay anyway. So I loaned him the relay off my bike to get him home. Like I said, it was a financial decision. Either loan him the part or FEED him until it arrived.
  14. Not much help from here. I think the only one I might have is from Texas just before moving to Ohio so it would only be about 10 years old.
  15. OOPs...just thought of another one. I said Harley Ultra and that would probably still be the strongest contender but I would also look at the Triumph Rocket III Touring. Sure wish they would finish dressing it out with a fairing and etc. though.
  16. Sounds like you ran across an idiot salesman.
  17. I'm really sorry to here of this accident. Skydoc is always there for us when we need his help...sometimes before we even KNOW that we need his help. Was really looking forward to seeing him at Maintenance Day. I hope he can at least ride in the car by then and you can both come. I promise to have a nice lawn lounger for him so that he can just sit back and relax.
  18. Well I love the cruiser styling so for me it would probably be a Harley Ultra.
  19. Whatever it is, it's probably actually a metric size.

    Seat

There are several places that sell seats for the Venture. Corbin, Travelcade, Russell, Mustang (recently announced) are some of the more common ones. You will find folks that love and hate all of them. I have the Corbin and love it.
  21. I wish I was in the area, would be happy to help out. It can be hard to find that sort of problem.
  22. WOW....good to hear from you Lowell. So you are a free man now.....Lord help us all.
  23. The Mic-Mutes works fine with the Buddy Rich cable. You just toggle on the mic before you start your call so that they can hear you.
  24. Thanks. Haven't seen the package yet but I'm sure it will be here soon. Thank you VERY much.
  25. I don't remember the internal memory but it lets you use a SD Card. I have an 8 GB card in mine. For some reason, Garmin limits you to 1000 songs but that is a lot.
