    I don't use any of them. I had a request to add the feature and it didn't require too much programming on my end so I added it. Have no idea what advantage it offers.

    OK folks..I know very little about this as I don't use an Iphone, Blackberry, etc. I had a request to add this feature so decided to give it a try. If you use one of the phones that support this app, you are welcome to test it out. I noticed on their website that they do have a beta app out now for the Blackberry also. Tapatalk is a mobile forum app for iPhone / Android and soon to be on Blackberry and Nokia. Tapatalk supports vBulletin (3.x and 4.x) and phpBB forums and forum owner can activate this service for free. Tapatalk supports all the usual forum functions plus full screen image viewing, image upload, caching (less reload), private messaging, all these features are accessible in just a few simple taps.     Folks...I'm in Cannon Falls, MN this week at our semi-annual sales meeting. LONG days this time. Then they took my laptop for the past two days to do some upgrades with the software so I've been unable to even get online until tonight since early Wednesday morning. Sorry if I have missed any questions here or via email. I'm working through about 1500 emails right now but if you have emailed me and I don't answer within the next day or two, please try again. Headed back home tomorrow night and am READY.

    There's at least some truth to that. My nephew wanted a bike a couple of years ago. Tried to buy a VTX 1300 Honda and Honda Credit denied him. His credit really was bad. He then went to the Harley dealership. He ended up buying a used Harley that cost more than the new VTX that he was looking at. Was approved through Harley credit with no problem. I know a year or so ago though that Harley Credit had to refinance a LOT of their debt and did so at a MUCH higher rate. Warren Buffet ended up financing about 300 or so million dollars of it at around 15% or so interest.     I did for a very short time. Absolutely hated it. Also the fit was terrible. There was about a 1" gap between the front of the seat and the gas tank. Some people have had good things to say about them but I can't.

    I don't think that's correct. I know of several '83 models that had the frame problem. I thought it was corrected AFTER the '83 models.

    It would probably be possible with some custom programming but it's a lot of work and has to be done every time there is a software upgrade. It's just much easier for people to add the info to the custom title area. Much easier on ME anyway.

    As most of you know by now, Bob Edwards departed this world yesterday, Friday April 30th, 2010. Many of you also know that Bob was a co-founder of the Venturers Motorcycle Club along with my self in 1997. Here is a short excerpt from the Venturers history page. "In early 1997 Bob Edwards purchased a 1983 Yamaha Venture touring motorcycle. Living in the small state of Rhode Island with few sources of information, he resorted to the World Wide Web, looking for any references about this rig. Soon he found a discussion board with many Venture owners who were feeling rejected because of Yamaha's discontinuance of the marque. Bob decided to start a webpage in hopes of meeting others in the same predicament. The "Yamaha Venture Webpage" was born in the winter of 1997. Later in 1997 Don Nelson of Texas (at the time), in a unrelated effort, started a discussion forum based on the Yamaha Venture Royale he had just purchased. The two websites continued to grow independently throughout 1997 into early 1998." It was shortly after that when Bob and I combined our efforts to create what is now the Venturers Motorcycle Club. Obviously there came a time when I decided to go my own way to create the VentureRiders club and to be honest, there were some periods during that time when Bob and I did not always see eye to eye on various issues. I am so very thankful that any bad feelings between the two of us were put to rest long ago and he and I did share a number of emails over the past few months about the dreaded disease of cancer that we were both fighting with. Unfortunately, his was much worse than mine. It would not be hard to come up with a LOT of great things to say about Bob but I will try to keep it short. The biggest thing is that he had a huge heart, a sincere love for riding and genuine feelings for the many that he counted as friends and a fierce loyalty to the club that he helped found. I feel that my life was enriched by knowing Bob. I am glad that I was able to meet him face to face and ride with him at least one time and I will never forget the warm person that I learned him to be. Some of the emails of support that he sent to me in regards to my own cancer when he himself was fighting a much harder battle with his own...I will cherish his kind words and he will not be forgotten. Godspeed our friend....we will someday ride together again......

    Really sorry to hear it. Bob fought a long and hard battle though and I am thankful that his pain has finally stopped. Annette and all the family will be in our prayers.

    Sounds like a good deal. You know that we don't care what you ride, just ride it and enjoy it.

    That wouldn't be too much trouble. I would like to hear more feedback on it though. What kind of mods are we talking about and etc.?

    I don't know of any way they could be. They are a series of metal bafflers, no packing material that I am aware of and now way to get to it if there was.

    I don't understand your explanation at all. The spread is the same whichever way they are mounted. You just have more at the top and I have more at the bottom. Same spread either way.

    Yea, if it does indeed have anything like a "bump switch", it is news to me. I've never heard of it. I have had mine turn off when hitting bad bumps and etc. but just assumed that it was the brake pedal bumping the switch or something.

    That is REAL close to the truth. I'm actually in South Bend, IN this week. Will be in Cannon Falls, MN next week for a sales meeting. Then when I get home from that, I have to go back to Boston for another 6 month checkup. Then after that....heck I don't even know yet.

    Folks, I'm getting emails every day asking if it is possible to join or renew memberships by credit or debit card for those without PayPal accounts. Please note, you do NOT need a PayPal account in order to pay with a credit/debit card or an e-check. If you do not want to use PayPal but DO want to use your credit or debit card, you can simply click on "settings" at the upper right corner of the page, scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that link. You will then see a page that says "VentureRider Support" with a drop down box on the right side. Click on the arrow on that drop down box and select the only option, 1 year - $12.00. The click the button that says "Order". That will open a new page. Click the button that says "Order Using PayPal". There will be a link on that page to pay using a credit or debit card without a PayPal account. In that case, they are just the credit card processor. That will open another page. From that page, you can login and pay with your PayPal account OR you can select the option that says "Don't have a PayPal Account"? Click "Continue" beside that option and you will get a page where you can use your credit or debit card or e-check without a PayPal account. In this case, I am simply using PayPal as my credit card processor. In the attached image, I have circled the part that I am talking about. Thanks, Don

    LOL...now THAT is a good point. Seriously though, I really am sorry to hear that she will have to go through more surgery. Please let her know that we are all thinking of her.
