I agree folks. If I had wanted to spend $700.00 there are a LOT of nice ones to look at. The problem is, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Heck, Eileen truly had to talk me into buying the one that I did.

I'm not sure when the sale ends. They told me that yesterday was the last day but I see it is still on the website so I'm not sure now.

You aren't necessarily high. Sounds like yours is about the same height as mine. The step up to the roller drawers was another $100.00 though so it would have been $389.00 or so. If yours is in very good condition, I think it is worth what you are asking. If you had been closer to me, I would have been interested.

If you kiss a woman on the lips....don't you HAVE to marry her? If not, I've been HOODWINKED a couple of times.

I ended up buying a Craftsman yesterday. I have been wanting one for a long time. I know that the Craftsman boxes aren't "professional" duty but I think for my use at the house that it will hold up OK. They had a good sale going on. I got this one at 50% off. Got the bottom roller, intermediate and the top box for $289.89. Of course they were out of stock so I had to order it. Should be here in 7-9 days. MAYBE after all these years I can finally get some of my tools organized. I don't know how long the sale continues. Here is the one that I ordered. I did store pickup because I didn't want to pay the $65.00 for home delivery and there is a Sears store about 10 miles from here. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_009C0530000B?adCell=W1

Well...just my opinion...I say let him slide. Easily close enough and it captured the essence of the challenge.

I have the Zumo 550 hardwired to my bike but I never leave it on the bike. I just remove it from the cradle when I'm not using it. So I don't know if it would drain the battery or not.

Brad, I'm not sure what you are saying. If you have the Mic Mutes installed, then you Do have to use it to talk on the intercom. That is what it's for. You just toggle the mics on and off with a quick press and release of the push to talk buttons. When you are done talking, another quick press and release turns them off again. That means they are not "live" all the time so you don't get all the noise. When using the CB, you just hold the push to talk button in as you normally would.

Yep...right about here: http://www.mic-mutes.com/ Now if you are coming to Maintenance Day, just let Bill know (he owns Mic-Mutes). He will be there and can bring it with him.

Yea...I've noticed that too. Seems that ever since I passed that 50 year mark, I've become brittle and pretty much falling apart.

OK folks. The time is getting near. If you haven't signed up on the calendar yet, please do so. At this time, it shows 159 Yes and 46 maybe. It will really help me to know how much food to order if I could narrow that down just a bit. If you signed YES and your plans have changed, please go back and remove your name. If you signed MAYBE but now know for sure, please remove your MAYBE if you are not going to attend and remove it and add YES if you are. Thanks Much. Here is the link to the calendar page. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=153&day=2010-6-19&c=1

Sure...pretty much the same thing.

No, I'm not looking at anything. I think I'll still be riding my '99 RSV for a LONG time.

I just learned from the manufacturer that USA orders should go through their USA distributor: http://www.calsportbike.com/gpx

I have no idea what kind of tractor you have. I assume the VAC is a Case? Do you know what is wrong with the starter? Here is a repair kit but I'm not sure if it would work on your starter or not. http://cgi.ebay.com/Case-Tractor-VAC-Gas-Starter-Repair-Kit-MZ4114-/230405711470?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35a540266e

Take a look at this test. Anyway, mine will be installed soon and then I can give a better report on it. The one for our bikes does not have the ATRE though. http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/healtech-gear-indicator/healtech-gipro.htm

The question has been asked a few times if there was a gear indicator available for the Royal Star Venture and the Royal Star. I have been in contact with the same company that makes the Speedohealer and they do have one that will work on our bikes. I have been 100% pleased with the Speedohealer so decided to add the gear indicator also. This is a simple plug and play device that indicates what gear you are in. I just ordered one and will give a full report on it after I receive and install it but if this is something you have been interested in, you can find the information here. They told me that we should purchase from their USA Distributor: http://www.calsportbike.com/gpx but the manufacturers website is: http://www.healtech-electronics.com/ From the info they sent to me: The GIpro X-type will work great. Part number: "GIPRO-X-color + GPX-Y01" Where 'color' is either Red or Blue Price is $132.99

Installed Leveling Links - Wow - a new bike
Freebird replied to Godlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The dimensions in the write-up are correct. Lay them beside the stock links and they will look almost the same. I don't remember now but there is only a fraction difference in the stock and the raising links. Diamond R I think uses the same dimension. This item was originally developed by Rick Butler and after he saw how great they worked, he gave the idea and measurements to Diamond R. They are great folks to deal with if you don't end up making your own. As for what you saw in a bike shop? I have no idea what they would be or how they would measure. I've never seen another company making them. Are you SURE that they were to RAISE the rear? Baron's makes a kit but it lowers the rear. -
LOL...now that was good.

I have seen that article on the V4 Harley before but don't see anything about them selling the design to Yamaha. I think the Yamaha is their own design. There have been a number of V4 engines over the years. The Venture and Yamaha are not the only ones.- 44 replies
