  1. Well it finally happened....I "gently" laid the bike over on it's side last weekend which happened to be right up against a tree and cracked the windshield. Would anyone out there happen to have a stock windshield they are willing to part with to fit an 02 ???
  2. Good old New Orleans Louisiana......It's not just for Mardi Gras There's no better food and entertainment than in Nawlins. French Quarter, music, beautiful scenic rides all around the area, swamp and plantation tours, river boat rides, and there's always some kind of festival going on. Come during crawfish season, which is pretty much all year long, and pinch some tails. The Mississippi gulf coast is just a hop skip and jump away with Casino's if that's your fancy. Ear Plugs

I always wear ear plugs..I've been working at a chemical plant for 28 years and wearing ear plugs has become second nature. I find the best type is the soft foam plugs but the key is properly insert them for the best protection. Roll them between your fingures, insert and hold them in place until they fully expand. Protecting your hearing outweighs the funny loooks folks might give you.
  4. I just replaced mind not too long ago....search this post 2nd Gen front speakers Kidh2
  5. I live in southern Louisiana where the humidity averages about 100% and my 02 midnight lives outside since I do not have a garage. I use a good quality cover that allows moisture to escape but not penetrate from rain, etc. and so far have not had any corrosion, oil or fuel issues.
  6. Real and the biggest we can fit in the house, usually a 12 footer. My three girls all come home and go with us to pick one out and usually wear the guy at the lot out standing up about a dozen before they make up their minds. It's a family event decorating and each has their own favorite ornaments to hang. We play the same Christmas carol cassette tape the wife and I made from some childhood albums (remember them?) on our first Christmas together. The house gets lit up like Chevy Chase's house in the movie Christmas Vacation with a big Manger display in the front yard to remind everyone what Christmas is really about. Our favorite time of year!!

    BMW's

I always heard that BMW stands for Bitch, Moan & Whine
  8. Just practice and you'll get used to it. I have an 02 Midnight and it was my first fully dressed bike. We 2-up all the time and it took a little while to get used to the slow speed handling. I don't have a garage and park and cover the bike on the side of my house where there is no room to turn around. The only way to get out is to roll backwards about 30 feet down a 36" wide 30 degree sloped walkway. That really taught me how to balance the weight in a hurry.

  10. Nice ride....I bought a 1991 mint condition Chrysler Lebaron convertible (turbo) in 2000 for my daughter. It wasn't very long before I realized it was way too much car for her and replaced it with an import. New paint, rag top and upholstery....rebuilt the tranny and it's still a gem. I'm pushing 260,000 miles on the engine and as my wife puts it, driving it is the next best thing to riding a Venture....
  11. Y'all are killing me with these rate numbers. I have been insured on my 02 midnight through Progressive since I bought the bike and actually got the best rate with them paying $290 a year...Guess I'm lucky Homeowners is a killer though. It has more than tripled for most everyone in this area since the storm and now my monthly escrow for insurance exceeds my P&I mortgage payment.
  12. It's amazing what Global Warming can do.
  13. Don't know if anybody out there has used this web site but you can hook up on some pretty good rides. www.motorcycleroads.us/index.html
  14. Thanks for the help....I'll give the tap a try this weekend and let you know how it worked out.
  15. Just joined up today and already loving it !!! Can't wait to join in on the next chat party......
  16. I saw and removed the philips screws but the front grill still wouldn't come off. I am afraid to force it and possibly crack it. The only way I can see the speakers can come out is through the dash removing the grills. Could there be any type of double faced tape keeping them stuck?
  17. How do you remove the front speakers? I split the fairing and removed the four nuts holding the speakers but can't figure out how to remove them?
