Hey frankd, I took a wing out for a test drive on Wed after getting a little ticked off by a Yamaha dealer. I was on the wing for about 30 minutes and here is what I noticed. 1) the wing is a much different seating position then the RSV, I'm only 5'6'' so I did not have any issues with my knees being to far foward. I do like the cruising position of the RSV, but a set of highway peg on the wing will make a big difference. 2) I could really feel to road thru the handle bars on the wing, it seemed like a little more of a ridged ride then the RSV. 3) POWER! oooh my god, the power of that 1800 was incredible. I loved how quick and smoooooth it was. 4) instrument panel. It was nice seeing a full set a gages. 5) No CB, the wing does not come standard with a CB like the RSV 6) the 1800 is said to be good for 300,00 mile. The RSV ? 7) the reverse on the wing is kinda cool and I sure I cound get some use out of it. I'm looking to by right now and can get a new wing for around 17,000. and a new RSV for 15,000 or so. I'm pretty much a mess trying to make my choice. One minute I want the wing and the next minute I want the RSV. Ooooh, what to do, what to do.

A few years age I remember coming across a website the sold alot of RSV chrome. I remember there was a MMRSV all chromed out. Just about everything that could be chomed was chromed, even rotor covers. Has anyone seen this, and what is the web site?

Which seat do most RSV owner find to be the most comfortable. The Midnight seat w/studs or the stock pillow top. A local dealer has a Midnight with the Pillow Top.

I am currently looking for a new 07 Blue/Raven. Of course with winter around the corner there's no rush. I would like to get some input on what the best month is to buy to get the best deal. Personal I would think October, end of motorcycle season, and before sled season.

Kit, I feel ypur pain, I recently had a bad experience with a stealer while trying to buy a new RSV. I also due all my own work on my bike, but one question I have to ask how does this effect warranty. On my last RSV I did the first service my self, but never had a warranty issue.

Has anyone ever done a study, or did the math on what the odds are of getting a new RSV with the whine. I had an 05 midnight that did not have it.

I was in Honda East two weeks ago the had one of each. Went back last week both were gone. They have three more coming in two Midnights and one 08. No blue/raven the color I'm looking for. Do you know what the dealers name is in Jackson?

Yesterday after several emails and phone calls I struck a verbal deal with a dealer in Coldwater MI for an 07 RSV blue/raven for $13,679 plus a doc fee of $160 and tax or course. Now this was contingent to financing which was no problem. I have a fraud alert system on my credit so that no can look at it without my permission. After getting approved I called the dealer several hours later to see where things were at. The salesman had NO idea and said he was waiting on a fax from the fraud system that on my credit. So that was yesterday. Now move foward to today. At about 10:00 I called the salesman to again to see where things were. Guess what, he again had no idea and said he was still waiting for a fax. Well I had to go watch my daughter soccer game which was over at 15:00. I called him back just to hear him say he was waiting for the fax. At this point as you can guess I'm getting a little steamed. I asked him what kind of fax are you waiting for and what can I do to help. He say's I'm waiting for a fax to see if I was approved. I explained to him I was approved yesterday and that he shound have know this. He tells me he would get with the F&I guy and call be right back, which he did to tell me I was approved (no kidding). He then wants my credit card number to hold the bike. Before I would give him the number I of course wanted to know what the terms were that the F&I guy had come up with, well he had no idea. I had to leave to go to work and told him I would call back when I got to work to see what the terms were. I called him back at 17:45 to hear him say he did not know the terms but I could speak with the F&I guy to get them. So the F&I guy got on the phone to tell me he was able to get me a $212mo payment. Well ok that about what I was looking for. Now for the terms. 96 month at 9.99% ya right like I'm going to do this. I'm like "you got to be kidding me". I explained to him according to my math and my credit score of almost 800 I should be able to do 72 mo at 7.99 with a payment of just under $200 with my down payment several grand. So he re does the math at 72 7.99% and comes up with around $250 mo. I then ask him how much $$ he was trying to finance, thinking he foget about my down payment. $15,461 was his number. Why so much you ask when the sale price was $13,679. Heres why $425 frt fee, and $372 set up and a few other charges. And thats not the clincher the bike a several 1000 mile on it the the salesman forgot to tell me about. Needless to say I killed the deal on the spot. I thinks I'll go test ride a goldwing next week.

Over the last two weeks (since the 08 line up came out) I have emailed a half dozen or so dealer in my region, northwest ohio, southern Michigan, northeast Indiana, about an out the door price on an 07 blue/raven. These were dealers that have ran ads on the net and in auto traders listing the 07. Only one dealer responded! and this was a dealer that sold two 07s in the last week. What is going on? I also thought salespersons worked on commission. Can anyone explain to me why a dealer would not jump at the chance to make a sale? I bet Honda would. There now I feel better.

Honda East on Maumee Ohio had two 07 last week, one midnight and one blue/raven. Went back on saturday to see if I could strike a deal. Both were gone! They said thay had three more coming in two 07 midnight and one 08 cherry/raven

Well what do you know, slow sale. It was just a matter of time. HD can't put out a line of bike that cost $16,000 to $22,000 that have trans , engine noise, and heat problem and ignore the problems. I consider buying a Ultra. Thats while I sold my 05 RSV midnight. Now that I became aware of the issues theres no way I would put out that kind of money and get less of a bike then the RSV. HD needs to wake up and take care of thier customer base.

I remember when I was 15 years old, which was a few year ago:rotf: I tassaled corn in the summer time. I remember the farmers that I worked for mowing the corn down. When I asked why, they told me that the goverment paid them to cut it so that a surplus would not be created.

for last three year I got a raise of 2.5%. or did I? With the raise came a raise in insurance, and higher taxes. So, on paper it looks like I got a raise but I actually take home less money.

I've been working alot for the last few months trying to save up for a new RSV and not have much time to hang out with the boss. Well today before I went to work I went with her to our local Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. One item we needed was a gallon of milk. I went to the cooler where the milk was and could not believe it, I actually said out loud " Oh my god, $5.14 for a gallon of milk, you've got to be kiding me" What in the world is going on? Is there a new special breed of cow producing this high dollar milk. Last time I checked the same old cows producing the same old milk that was $2.00 a gallon the last time I went shopping. If the are any dairy people on the forum please inlighten me.

OK, I cut my shield down when I had my 05. I cut it at the bottom so that the factory edge would still be at the top. lay masking tape (two layers) down on both side, then draw a line on the tape 4 '' or where ever you want it from the bottom, make your cut with a fine tooth jig saw blade, after you finish your cut move the piece up that you cut off and trace the hole location and redrill the holes. It simple as that! It takes only about 20 minutes
