Well I added myself to the VR pam, and I noticed there are only 4 Alabama members who are on this map.. It sure would be nice if everyone in Alabama would take the time to go in and add thier name so we know where the best place would be to have a good M&E

Dang Freebird... You amaze me......I forgot all about that map...thanks!

I remember when I was in Ft. Collins, and my butt was soaked... Wild Hair gave me a great idea... He said stop at the "dollar" store and pick up a $1 or $2 bath tub floor carpet. you know the one you place on the floor so when you get out you dont slip and slide.. He said fold it in half, and put bungy cord in the fold and tie it to your bike on the front of your seat. On the rear end of the seat where the two pieces of carpet over lap, you align two corners and poke a small hole in them and use two more small bungy cords (one on each side of the seat) and tie them down to the rear of the bike. I rode 13.5 hours one day and 14 hours the next day to get back home and my butt never got wet again..I still have that piece of carpet too....Thanks Wild Hair!!!

I do not think it would harm the windshield. The GPS unit does not weigh that much to cause an abundance of strain on the windshield... However, I would be more concerned with sunlight (magnified heat) transmitting through the windshield to the glue that holds the GPS units backing plate to the windshield. I would think the glue would become weak ("gooey") and give way causing the unit to easily fall off onto the gas tank or the highway... If you drilled a couple small holes through the windshield and through the GPS mounting plate and bolted the backing plate to the windshield, then I would say you would be better off strength wise if you decide that is where you want to mount it.

Beautiful pics.. I really enjoyed them. Made me wish I was there with you guys. Someday, sometime, one day, hopefully in the very near future, I too will have pics to show of a trip I take.

Everytime I arrange a Meet & Eat, I too go through the same pain staking effort. It is a PIT-butt...trying to figure out where (or how close) someone lives to where the M&E will be held. I usually open two VR.Org pages at the same time... one to search the members list and the other I use to send a member an inviation through email.. Once I find someone who is close to where the M&E will be held, I transfer over to the other VR page, and send that person an invite in a p-email..then I go back to the first page and search to find another member who lives close to where the M&E will be held... This is so time consuming and those who dont know what goes on behind the screen will never understand how much of a PIT-butt it is.. I have asked several times for members to please add thier home city to thier profile. Just think...if you added your city, you just might be invited to attend a M&E some day where you could meet up with some other VR members... dang, now who woulda thought..

Sure do wish one of you guys would take some photos and write up a good clean understandable tech article... Heck, I'll even throw your name out there for a VR award.....I mean come on now.. Yamerhamer..., If you know when you are going to do yours, maybe I can come down your way and watch, help, and even take some photos and I will do the tech article.. (just wonder though if I can throw out my own name for that VR award.. )

I would think with the roof being entirely glass on some of those enclosed 3 wheelers and no roll bar around the drivers that it most likely would be a law that you have to wear one.. good question there Skid... I surely wold not want to wear one if I was in an enclosed object like that..

Speaking of the "naughty" list Hey BradT...... SO..........what did you get NAUGHTY for Christmas..??? or are you still in the dog pound...on her naughty list.......
-
Sounds like my wife and I are like Squidley and Lonna, in that we do not buy each other birthday, anniversary or Christmas gifts..ever.. We buy for the grand kids only... not even our kids get anything.. just the grand kids.. Once the grand kids hit 18, that is it for them too...we just tell them to come on over and eat all you want... but dont think your getting anything else..
-
Also sounds like Santa wont be stopping for BradT since he has been so Nas "T" Brad, You better step back, take a deep breath, and smile.. its gonna be a LONG winter:thumbsup2:
