I need some wiring help. I purchased the 1 - 253-4400 Red Ultra Light Bar w/ Turn Signals - US 15" Ultra Light Bar w/ Turn Signals - but I can't seem to get the wiring right - and I have misplaced the packaging. I know the Venture wiring is: Green - right Brown- left Blue- running Yellow - brake Black - gound The light bar has only 4 wires and not sure how to connect? I have the left and right and running working - but cant get the brake light to work? The light bar wiring is (I think?): green - right yellow- left brown running white - ground So where is the brake light? Can anyone assist? Appreciate your help. BBIRINill

I am trying to order a set of chrome exhaust clamps in Canada. There are several references to USA suppliers (see below)- but not manufacturers. Would someone have the make and model of the best clamps to use for the RK muffler mod so that I could source them in canada? With a 28% exchange rate - these parts get expensive to order from the USA. Appreciate your help! Fits all 1 3/4" exhaust headers when attaching 1 7/8" O.D. mufflers Part Number: 24032 V twin mfg and are part # 31-9920

If you need rain covers for your leather bags (like the BOSS bag I am hoping to buy for my trunk luggage rack)- check out the T-BAG company accessories. You can find a variety of rain covers for your leather bags. Birin http://www.tbags.com/products.aspx?CategoryID=11

Where is the best place to buy the clamps? Are they available from any Harley dealer? -
I am in the market to buy the Kuryakyn #7985 - which is the Longhorn Offset w/ 1” clamp - and item #4445 which is the Switchblade pegs with the male mount. I was wondering where the best pricing might be for these?

I can't find anything on JC Whitney. I think HOPNEL discontinued making those bibs?? philmartin - you are fortunate to have such a talented mother - it looks great.
-
I was looking at philmartin's illustration and the original bike he based it on- and really like the look of the rear trunk bib. Does anyone have a supplier for this leather rear bib? I would like to put one on my RSV.

Sunman Do have a web page for your BC Canada ordering point? I also need some of these lights and with the 20% exchange rate and shipping - the "other items" end up costing more that the product itself! Appreciate the info if you have it. BIRIN -
Some previous posts seemed to indicate that only "non catalytic" mufflers from older generation RK's will work on the Venture. I have the chance to buy some 2008 RK pipes and the numbers do NOT have 95 95a 98 or 98a as the last digits. Any reason why the newer RK catalytic mufflers will not work - without any modification (drilling)??? Thanks

Installing Road King mufflers

Is there a reason why the catalyst needs to be removed? Sounds like some on this list are using RK mufflers and have not tampered with the catalyst? -
Local Craigs list has a set of Screaming Eagle Mufflers & also a set of OEM Stock Pipes and Harley Davidson Road King Mufflers. Would either of these fit the Venture? I see the brackets are available - how difficult is it to do the conversion? Does anyine have any pictures of what the bracket conversion looks like? I see some extra parts are required? Are these just stock HD parts? Appreciate the guidance here

All I thought that Nelson- because its such a pretty town - would be a nice place to stay - especially if we stayed in town. Many nice shops and restaurants and places to walk at night. I have found two fairly well rated smaller motels THENEWGRANHOTEL.CA - with singles at $90 and doubles at $100 MOUNTAINHOUND.com - with room rates about $10 per night cheaper. (non of these room rates have been negotiated) The NEW Grand is the motel where the western canada motorcyle guided tours stay at. I personally like the idea of not being on the north side of the lake - or in an outlying area - but rather right down town. I am sure there will be fireworks over the lake one night and lots of arts and crafts and activities happening in downtown Nelson and right around these two motels. There are larger motels like the Best Western at around $160 per night and the PRESTIGE at $220 per night as well. The GRAND and the HOUND are really old buildings coverted into boutique motels with wooden floors and safe parking etc. They both get high service and quality comments on the web. Not sure this helps - and I hope I'm not getting ahead of the group - but I thought I would offer these possibilities. Maybe we could get a solid group rate if people could confirm? Hope this helps???

Is this going to happen? Are we on for this summer? Thought we might start planning a bit?
-
I am also looking at a half cover for travelling. Has to be water proof, light, and compact. Does this model "suit the bill" ?
-
I am mapping out a long distance trip for next summer - something I have not yet done with the 05 Midnight as yet. I have done all the bike service and added the new tires, bought some good sun glasses and............... It seems to me however - many of you have done this long distance riding thing already- so I was wondering if all you long trip experienced riders might help a newbie in this area. If there were one or two things you would do differently, or one of two things you would have taken along or adjusted or whatever - that would have made the long distance ride more enjoyable (safer, more relaxing etc) ...what would those one or two things be???

I am looking for a light and compact half cover for the 2005 Midnight that folds up compact for use on some longer trips planned for next summer. Any suggestions on some good quality water proof half covers? Thanks
