  1. Apologies if this doesn't belong here. What a version of the Star Spangled Banner. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFA6hmwzir4&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Texas Tech National Anthem[/ame]
  2. I'd love to tour the New England states again but this time with the wife. But, she will not ride but a few hours a day so riding that far w/o a trailer will never happen. I don't have a trailer but if I ever want the wife along it'll be on a trailer. I can't believe this is even an issue with anyone.
  3. I am travelling to Des Moines this Friday (in cage) and will be there for a week. Anyone here have recommendations for restaurants that I must visit while there? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the update Don. Wishing you all the best I can muster.
  5. Did a couple hour ride into West Va today then rode back thru Front Royal, Va. for a Spelunker Hamburger and Caramel/Cashew Sundae.
  6. Okay. I know my antennas are backwards based on another set of posts I've read. My problem is making the switch. I do not use the CB but at times the reception on the FM is not good and I'm hoping thr switch will help. I have an 04 RSV. I can turn the bottom where everything turns but I can feel what appears to be something turning inside as well so I stopped. Any suggestions on how to do this right? It should be easy but I'm afraid of breaking something. Thanks
  7. Wow. I'll stop here to keep the thread from being shut down.
  8. Caveman, My son in law recently returned from his 2nd tour there as a Marine so we know what you're feeling. Tell him to keep the faith and we're proud of him.
  9. Just curious. Why would you want to do that? Aren't you concerned about how loud it will be? We certainly don't need to join the growing sentiments against the Harley crowd.
  10. I'm with you on the seat. But research the Airhawk cushion. I just used one on a long ride and to me it was no benefit whatsoever. A waste of money for me.

  12. There is a brand new Yamaha dealership in Manassas, Va very close to me. When I bought the last 2 bottles of Ride On they said yes as soon as I ask them to put it in the tires. It was there for something else and they didn't hesitate. They don't sell the stuff but were willing to try it.
  13. Did I see somewhere on here that Wal mart sells Ride On tire sealant? Or is there any local type store that sells them?
  14. Spotsy, I was there riding 2 up on Friday. Great day for a ride. Make sure you look at the topic Car, Truck and Bike Show in Watering Hole. In Manassas Sept 19. There might be a meet and eat at the same time.
  15. Most people looking at Harley's are doing so because their friend, uncle or whomever has one and they are buying into the Harley mentality. I'm not knocking the bike or those who ride them, at least not all the riders, I just don't understand this Harley mentality. The more I hear Harley's on the road with the ear deafening pipes the more I dislike these people. The more fat (I'm over weight too) Harley riders I see riding down the road with their guts hanging out of their too small t-shirt and a cigarette in their mouth the more I dislike Harley's. The attitude of our s**t don't stink but yours does because you ride a Yamaha is getting real old. Last time I walked into a HD dealership to see if they had something and the guy laughed when I told him what I drove was the last time I've been in a HD place. I have several friends who ride Harley's and they don't fit this mold and I know not all do. But unfortunately there are enough HD riders to create a most unfavorable impression amongst many people. That said, HD has a marketing strategy I wish I could emulate in a business. They know how to make money.
  16. I have an Apple desk top and HP laptop (Windows). Any idea which would be easier to use to do the transfer?
  17. Thanks Clive. I definitely don't want any free downloads if not legal. Just wondering what's out there. I've never been one to stay up with this stuff so don't know what's available.
  18. Okay. I've had a Garmin 2730 for a few years now and love it. It has XM which when working is nice to have. But another Garmin antenna has gone bad and I refuse to buy another one. The GPS also has a MP 3 player which I've never used. I think I'd like to put some songs on the MP 3 but have no idea how to go about doing this. I don't want to start paying a dollar a song to download and transfer. Are there really any free download sites that are legit and won't get me in a jam or is that a myth? Also, I've heard of people downloading music CD's to something like an Ipod. Can this also be done to this MP3?
  19. Sylvester. Sorry for what's happened to your son. As a father we will always want to protect our kids, no matter their age. That being said. All this anti-govt stuff may or may not be warranted but no one knows for sure in this case. There could be a very good reason why the law was set the way it is in Canada. Maybe there is a story or stories which prompted the change in law. I don't know one way or the other. But for everyone here to just jump up and down screaming it's for revenue or whatever may be acting prematurely. I don't live or work in Canada so I know nothing on the laws history but apparently no one else does either.
  20. On my last day of my New England trip I was loading the bike up at the hotel and I thought the trunk looked a little low. I didn't pay attention as I was in a hurry to get home. Once I got home and off loaded everything I saw what the problem was. Not one, but both bolts holding the trunk to the bracket next to the bags had come out. I checked and tightened pretty much everything I could find before leaving for my trip but never thought of checking these. I asked the parts guy at the Yamaha dealership if he'd ever see this before and in all his years he had not. The bolts were replaced and all is fine but better check yours.
  21. I'm done using mine as well. Used it on my long trip and it was worthless. Within 15 days into the trip most of the straps broke off. It's guaranteed. I should send it back and see if they'll refund it.
  22. Careful now. You know how everyone loves the hose pullers (no offense FF's) but not everyone likes COPS. Would hate to see a bike vandalized by the cop haters.
  23. Sweet. Glad to see it's making the rounds.
