    I road up to SteveD's house on Saturday and met him and Earl & John for the first time. Was a pleasure to meet them, Earl put in my new diaphragms and repaired my slides, needle mod & synchronized carbs. ( an I helped) Steve looked over my bike with a fine tuned flashlight, now I know my frame was welded and in good shape, He showed me my slides were not moving right 2 not at all. (glad I bought the diaphragms in the group buy) The roads were wet so I didn't roll on the throttle to much but the bike is running a lot smother, my mirrors don't shake as much and starts easier. I hope to go for a ride soon to test the improvements. I have to go to Beaufort County SC to work with the Sheriff's Office for 3 days so it will be a few days.     Gail on her 1100 Virago and I no my 83 std. went on a charity ride for Richmond county Hospice. A 55 mile ride through the country some up and down and twisties, we ended up at the Rockingham Speedway. We got to do 4 laps around the Little Rock, a 1/4 mile oval track that was a rush!!! that was worth the $10.00 per bike. One rider on his Harley had to push it and went off the track, broke his windshield turn signal and some road rash but OK lucky for him the track was surrounded by sand. Then we went to a restaurant for hot dogs with all the fixens and of course ice cream:cry:, was a great day yes it was. Gail had fun to but only did 2 laps around the track.

    Where do I go to donate to St Jude's? Will $10.00 do + shipping where to send shipping? (need left side) I was in Easley two weeks ago trying to get in touch with the chief of police. I was working with Laurens Chief and the Chief in central and Clinton. I work for a nonprofit organization we work with Law enforcement agencies on Drug and Safety programs for there kids and community.

    You are right I was lucky the turn signal is an easy fix compared to a leg or something else.

    I was going to a meeting with a sheriff in Avery county NC, and I was on 70 going to the mountains when some one lost some stuff off there truck. I thought I missed all three piece's but #3 took a bounce and hit my bike. I think it was a piece of metal it hit my left rear turn signal caught the corner an chipped the chrome an took the amber lens completely off. If any buddy has one they can part with let me know, I will check Ebay also. The trip to the mountains would have been perfect I will be working with the sheriff the ride was great except for the piece taking out my turn signal out. Thanks, Dale

    As ddoggma said this is a good one and free also avast Antivirus is free and is very good dose a boot scan of your puter gets every thing out before start up.

    My son works for a welding company and has access to #4 cable and connectors, they make there own welding cables. Can some one tell me the length one post has 33" another 36" is this cable length or cable length and connectors. I want to get them made before I take mine off. Thanks, Dale

    Got her don no clunking noise no odd sounds, so I may have got her all back together right. Thanks to Squeeze, mbrood, GeorgeS couldn't have done with your help. Will see if I fixed the oil leek at the stater wires tried. Called Avon aka Cooper Tire and they had me take the tire to Lumberton Yamaha had them call Cooper Tire confirmed the cracks. They are sending me a new tire no coast and Lumberton Yamaha will put it on for $15.00.

    What is the best way to remove the gasket from the left engine and rear case

    I got the flywheel off, the bolts to the clutch are tight I inspected the clutch on the flywheel and don't See any cracks should I just replace the #2 gear springs caps an dowels.

    Any suggestions on getting the flywheel bolt lose man that thing is tight

    Do you have to drain the oil first before you take the cover off?

    Went and checked my Avon and sure enough cracks. Called Avon aka cooper tire and they said to take it to dealer and have them call them. Date 4307

    Yesterday my starter made a loud clunk "bang" noise when i push the start button but not all the time any suggestions what ma be the cause. Is this something I can fix or is a new starter in my future. 83std. Also the spring for the oil filter dose it go on the housing side or the frame side I dropped it when I took it off and not sure where to put it the parts pic looks like it goes to the housing side.
