    BOY do i hear ya , brian! texas refines gas and diesel, for almost HALF of the U.S. market! we ship /pipeline, natural gas , all the way to the canadian border. the real "cutter", here is , they can buy fuel and natural gas cheaper then us texicans , can! don't add up, somehow! just jt

    brad. that is the female half, of an electrical connection! it isn't used by first gen riders. it was put there by yamaha, so that a special module could be plugged in at a later date. this module cuts the horse power in half, so that ex-2nd gen riders wouldn't be traumatized by the shear power and SPEED that these old bikes can develop! lol:confused24: actually, i guess we'll have to wain on squeeze!. i ain't got a clue. just jt

    i took a standard 18MM socket, and ground it down on the lower half, so that it just fits into the tapered hole. 1inch extension, just to break the plug loose. then i use a piece of vacuum hose to unscrew the plugs, and to start the new ones back in. just jt

    yea! gw. but you never went past the red line, let alone the "rev limiter"!!!! you need to get "yammer dan" to show ya the ropes! given the weight differential, a first gen, will "out perform" almost EVERY crotch rocket on the streets! of course, 2nd gens, redline a LOT sooner than an "antique". so , they are hopelessly , lost! second best ain't so bad, if ya ride a 2nd gen! lol:stirthepot::stirthepot: just jt
