  1. Boy that stinks to high heaven.. Sure wouldnt loan anyone one of my vehicles if I lived out there.
  2. I used my neighbor - sure enough there he was,,, only difference was the ape on his license had brushed his teeth so I know it had to be fake..
  3. Steve,, hopefully they make something that we can use to get up and go to work for us.. Then all we have to do is collect the check, recharge "Yamabotics" batteries and ride till the cows come home... 'Puc
  4. Brotha,,,, aint THAT the TRUTH!!!!!!! Bout the time that tach touches 4800 and the hyperdrive is engaged, that great big old heavy full dressed scoot turns those poles on the side of the road into a blur - then when you stop and your riding buddy on the 103inch V-twin or 1100 Virago walks over and asked what on earth you did to that old bike and can you do it to his... Yea baby,,,,,,,, WHAT A BIKE.... I still say (kinda like the KX500) that the early Ventures were THE most misunderstood - under marketed - under sold bikes of all time - FREAKIN AWESOME (minus the 2nd gear and stator problems of course)!!! Hey Grandpa,, mind if I ask what kind of dollar it cost to have yours repaired?? Did you have it done completely or did you do some of the work yourself?? 'Puc
  5. WAY TO GO LOWELL!! I am a quitter too, 3 packs a days.. I was an avid swimmer before I started smoking and after 12 years of cigs I couldnt swim underwater more then 20 feet holding my breath.. I just got soooooo freaking mad at the things I tossed them in the trash and never looked back.. That was 28 years ago - cigs were 40 cents a pack here... Personally I had to let it go till I KNEW the smokes were slaying me to get mad enough to quit.. I really enjoyed smoking BUT would NEVER go back!! If I had it to do over I would do as mentioned on here all ready.. I would keep track of every dollar I saved by quitting and I would do something really special with it like buy a new scoot or muscle car or something... Then hang one of those personalized plates on it like "I1IQUIT" (I just made that up - thats a good one.. Read "I won I quit"... Anyway,, hang in there brother - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! 'Puc
  6. That is fabulous Blackjack!! I also just got in from a little over 400 miles today.. It was sooooooooooooooo beautiful out!! We are at just under 20 degrees and almost 4 inches of fresh white gold.. The fields, trails and roadways were glistening like diamonds when I shut the snowmobile off about 45 minutes ago.. What a way to start another wonderful year of riding... Wishing everyone a GREAT 08!! 'Puc
  7. Hey Squid,, I dont know what age of a Mobile Home your dealing with but I had very simular problems with our old one/ cabin... I ended up rewiring the bathroom circuits because I couldnt find the open in the ground.. My understanding of those GFI's are that they trip as soon as a very small amperage (milliamp) is sent to ground - if you have no means to ground you have no GFI.. Anyway,, If you end up rewiring PLEASE remember to completely disconnect the old circuitry from the system.. An electrician did exactly what I am talking about for a fellow business owner/friend a few weeks ago and failed to do so,, the result was the still connected wiring went to ground, caused arcing and a fire ensued with total loss of the building - thankfully no one was inside when it went... 8. Steve,, WHAT A DOLL!!!!!! You have my envy and TOTAL applause!! Please tell your daughter we are praying for her quick recovery from delivery and to sieze every minute of every day with that tiny sweetheart!! What a FANTASTIC time of life you get to be in.. Lord Bless (I know,, he already has..).. Give this to that little one for me Second thought better not it would probably scare her... Just a soft kiss on the forehead will do... 'Puc
  9. Ummmm,, dont worry about it guys,, when the U of M leaves to come back up North they will take the cold air with home with them,, along with that wonderful Bowl win they yanked away from the Gators today haahahahah... Even with Hart playing with them and giving the Gators the ball a couple times they stillllll couldnt defeat the MIGHTY Wolverines.. I guess riding in the cold air of Michigan really does make ya nasty and mean.... I had a blast today,,, I have relatives in Orlando hahahahaha... 'Puc
  10. Indeed,,, that is one of the best Christmas greetings I have read this year!! hahahahaha ummmm,, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too Lewis... 'Puc
  11. Kit: I do a TON of bike stuff scavaging for my bike building and grabbed a set of Hondaline passing lights for 10 bucks a few years back.. I mounted them on my 1st Gen - they are awesome lights!! Only problem is I think to buy something like them now is way pricey too but my underpowered Venture stator seems to handle them ok.. Also,, I recently helped my Nephew install (ok,, I installed them and he watched hahaha) a new set of pass lamps w/blinks on his Stratoliner "S" that were wayyyyy awesome lights - something about the "prisim action" of the light really did make a difference in output,, I will have to ask what brand those were!! Seems that setup was in the $450 range (crazy if you ask me).. Anyway, here is a shot of my Hondaline lights on my 1st Gen.. Aint this stuff fun!! No better way to start the new year eay bro!! 'Puc
  12. Since I broke my back in 03 I have been on a variety of stuff at a variety of dosages.. Ken is correct!! Pay very special attention to your pills and know them well and ask lots of questions when something changes.. I have had both dosages and actual pill swaps many times and deal only with a name brand pharmacy (Walgreens).. The worst one was a mistake in my Pain Patch - gave me 100 MG per hour or opium based perscript instead of 50 - this stuff is deadly!! Gotta watch your OWN backside just like Ken mentioned - NO ONE else really cares about you like you do,, hmmmmmmmmmmm,, kinda like riding a bike aint it.... 'Puc
  13. Born and raised in West Michigan here right on the Lake Michigan shoreling.. Indeed,, that powder cleanses the air like nothing else known to man - I love to get on my dirtbike (with screws in tires) or snowmobile and hit the woods - stop out in the middle of no where and just breath... It is heavenly.... Of course,, I also LOVE the relentless heat and air of the Utah/Arizona/New Mexico (cant say California cause you guys have a helmet law like we do and a helmet is an oven over 110 degrees) -- with no humidity or smog that air is very simular in cleaness - just pure air,, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ride for hours none stop..... 'Puc
  14. I run heated grips on all my bikes and its the only way to go.. What is being missed here is you all are using the wrong type of heated grip.. The ones I have used for years of Ice racing and snow riding are the heated tape type, the element is inside of a adhesive back tape that wraps around the bar and your original grip goes over it.. On the aluminum bar you have to make a couple wraps with elecrical tape to keep the aluminum from heat sinking the heat, throttle side is no problem - just leave a small amount of wire free so it doesnt pull with you twist.. The kit comes with resistor for hi/lo and on/off switch and all wiring.. It draws about 30watts and is applicable to all occasions.. I have even used them on my KDX harescramble bikes and these have total 25watt output - they work great!!! I have woods riden many times with no gloves in the dead of winter with them!!! Also, nice thing about these are they are ALWAYS on your scoot and your hands will NEVER be cold again!! If you want more info just pm me or ask on here, always willing to help!!! 'Puc
  15. LOL hahaha Me too but most of them are old newbie wanna bees and aint gonna bees if you get my drift.. These youngsters nowadays are nothing short of amazing (some of them - the others get sorted out of our sport pretty quick) - I mean,, back freaking flips on a bike - comeon..... Wayyyyy underestimated and totally underpaid as far as true atheletes go..
  16. Oh wait,,now I see,, he is from down under - the ones still being ruled by the UK.. He isnt even from the USA,, you know,, the place where our forefathers kicked that bunch the heck out of here..... Its the Land Of Oz routine,, you know,, like on Dorthey and Totto,, pay no attention to the guy behind the curtain bro!!!!
  17. Jim,,,Not exactly sure if this fellow slept thru 9-11 but I didnt.. Have a daughter that lives in Manhatten (up on 69th so she was a few blocks away when we were declared war on).. Regardless of what the media is telling people over here - there are LOTS of us who know you guys are making a huge difference in bringing Democracy to that God aweful situation and keeping another 9-11 away from our shores!!!!!!!! THANKS again!! 'Puc
  18. Hello Jim!! THanks for dropping a note to us here and a MERRY CHRISTMAS from Michigan to all you folks fighting for our freedom!! First,, here is short poem that I wrote for all you guys and girls over there.. Not the best but totally from my heart to yours!! Although I love my friends on here, my heart goes out to those not near. Across the sea our soldiers fight, so we can sleep in peace at night. They are protecting our way of life, so we can live in little strife. We take our freedom for granted a lot, and they are over there giving all they've got. I don't forget my brothers abroad, I am proud to cry this fact out load. Lord keep them safe throughout the year, and bring them all home to families dear. And Santa if your listening, out trying to get Rudolfs nose glistening. When you fly over those hills of sand, drop all my gifts on that foreign land!!! And now a short but true story.. Traveling to Sturgis this past year my riding bud and I stopped for dinner at a resturant in Murdo SD - riding over 16 hours that day brought us there at 9:58 pm and they were closing at 10. The waitress didnt want to serve us but I talked her into it.. 5 minutes later a guy walked by with a shirt on that said "HD - I got mine in Iraq"... He sat down behind my buddie and I told my friend there was no way he would get served.. He didnt.. As he walked past out table I inquired about his shirt.. He started telling us that he had just gotten home from 19 months in Iraq. He had ordered his new Harley while overseas and his family and towns people (he was from Pennsylvania) had met him at his base drop off and convoyed home to a hero's welcome.. His mom asked what he wanted to do shortly after a TV editorial was filmed about his homecoming.. He said I am gonna climb on my bike and get some lone time.. About this time the waitress came with my dinner... I told her to give it to him and I would pay for it.. He looked at me and said I cant eat your dinner bro.. I said I would throw it out before I would eat in front of my brother who had just gotten home from war fighting for my country.. He finally settled into eating and I enjoyed his conversation IMMENSLY!! I then invited him to ride with us,, told him my riding partner had only a few hours on his bike and that I was a bit crazy old school type that still practiced real biking habits like sleeping under the stars in the desert.. He laughed and said "SOUNDS LIKE A RIOT"!! That night we slept in an old Ghost town out in the prairie that I knew of - it was about 2 am before we pulled in.. We rode MANY miles of pavement - did Sturgis together, did Sturgeon Canyon and then went two-tracks all the way up into Wyoming to Devils Tower!! MILES of two-tracks and back sand roads and him fully loaded on his brand new Harley Heritage, my buddy on his Yam Virago and me on my fully packed 1st Gen!! We had a BLAST!! I recently recieved an email from him that told how much he relished our friendship - that he would never forget me and that I was considered one of his best friends in life.. Dont get much better then that... I tell you all this to let you and all of your buddies over there in that Hell know that YOU are loved and prayed for on a regular basis and that you all really are missed!!! PLEASE, NEVER let a day go by without remembering that!! Also know that the story I just told could be and would be anyone of you guys (and girls).. Gonna give you a pic of the three of us out in Indian country.. Please view it as if its you and know that YOU are appreciated!! THANKS for everything and Merry Christmas!!! Cowpuc
  19. I gotta go with Predock on this one... Personally,,, newbie riders on big streetbikes riding in groups scare me wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more then a skilled rider on the back wheel... If a biker is doing 70 on the rear wheel for miles on end,, or going stop light to stop light and dropping the front end perfectly and in total control,, he is my kind of guy.. If a guy is pulling out of an intersection on his freshly polished scoot wearing gorgeous biker clothing and stalling every few feet and then I stop to help him and tell him to try a lower gear and he says STUPID BIKE,,, whatda mean different gear?? THAT is the one I stay away from!!! I have been asked by several relatives to help them get streetbikes.. My policy is that if I am involved you will ride with me on the woods for one year before we start looking at streetbikes.. Part of their "training" constists of controling your bike on one wheel, also low speed trials riding (if you cant crawl your bike at an idle speed while standing on your pegs fully loaded saddlebags and all and then come to a complete stop before stepping off your pegs you really are not able to control a bike).. I have two nephews that both took me up on the deal and they are both VERY good street riders,, DO NOT touch a drop of booze and extremely well versed at defensive driving,, including being able to raise the front wheel at anytime to jump a curb if necessary... Yea,, total control wheelieing is definitly a wonderful tool for the box and if you see it and dont realise it,, you are seeing many long hours of practice and a very skilled rider... If they werent they would have dropped their bike within a few feet......... Not that accidents still dont happen.. Bikes are the ONLY vehicle that this stuff applies to though,, any drunken fool can climb on a snowmobile, trike motorcycle, car, boat or what ever,, pull the trigger and kill people.. Little more difficult on a bike,,, in order to show off you have to have obtained a certain level of skill or ummmm you fall........ As usual,, different perspective but mine.... 'Puc
  20. But,, please dont forget about the wonderful land of opportunity here in the USA.. For instance,,, last year I took a total of 45 days off and paid myself for it.. I am self employed, rode most of those 45 days, visited a number of bike dealerships and shows in the process, not only made over 16 grand during that time (Sturgis, Daytona, 4 Bike Blessings and then a couple dealer expo's) but had a BLAST of time. Our country is VERY condusive to doing your own thing and VERY encouraging on tax deductions and the like to help you make it,,,,, if your sincere... Personally,, I LOVE the opportunity here and wouldnt live anywhere else cause there is no where else that has it this good... Just thought I would cast my vote... 'Puc

  22. I just got back from South Carolina and test drove one of the new Harleys while I was down yonder... While out testing it out I saw myself in the window of a large store and thought I was pretty cool but I didnt wave at myself cause I knew better... Nice bike though..... 'Puc
  23. Years ago my sisters boyfriend went with me to pick up my brand new XS650 Yam.. When we got home I let him take it down the street and back to "taste" being on two wheels... She married the guy shortly after that and they have 5 children.. A few years ago he stopped by the shop with his youngests moped in the back of his truck and asked if I would take a look at it - he said the Honda shop told him the motor was ruined and it would cost over 1200 bucks to fix... I benched, motor was locked,, dug a little more and found out it was hydroed.. He stared blindly at me as I took his sons moped and tipped it up side down and proceeded to pump the oil out of the crankcase with the electric starter... THen watched in disbelief as I turned it back over and filled the case thru the plug hole with raw gas and turned it back over and dumped the gas out of it.. His disbelief went away shortly thereafter as I was pulling out of my driveway on his sons moped running like the day it was brand new... To my astonishment his reply when I returned was,,,,,,,,,, "something occured to me about you when you came back into your driveway on my sons Moped a moment ago" - I said whats that?? He said "you had that same look on your face riding his moped that you had on your face the day we went and got you new Yamaha up in Scotville - sheer delight.." Yep,, life is good when a man is being what he is suppose to be... 'Puc
  24. HERE HERE --- ditto that for me Jeff and a Merry Christmas to all!! 'Puc
  25. I have been in that same situation a number of times and I just take a comparable output charger (read on the back of the transformer pack) and wire it to the contacts on my stand - works great!! You can also charge off a 12v car battery (just the battery alone - NOT the car as that is 14.5 V) as long as your pack is 12v or more by doing the same thing.. Just always make sure your going neg to neg, pos to pos!! If you dont know how to check and make sure just ask.. 'Puc
