  1. Whats the deal here. Some cell providers charge for incoming calls. This was on a local tv newscast today.Nothing worse then telemarketers. http://www.wchstv.com/i/1x1spacer.gif EYEWITNESS LOCAL NEWS from Eyewitness News Online PESKY PROBLEM Cellphone Numbers Being Released http://www.wchstv.com/i/1x1spacer.gif Reported by: http://www.wchstv.com/bluemail.gif Rachel Tarr Videographer: Eyewitness News Web Producer: Jessica Reed October 1, 2008 1:36pm http://www.wchstv.com/i/1x1spacer.gif http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/eyewitness/0810/i/081001_3000_320.jpg Eyewitness News Photo http://www.wchstv.com/i/1x1spacer.gif Today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies. If you don't want to get those calls, you can call 1-888-382-1222 from your cell phone to block the calls. You can also log on to donotcall.gov, and add up to three phone numbers you want blocked. Under a new law, these new registries will never expire.
  2. ??????????????????????????????????? I'm thinking.
  3. Walmart is about $5.60 a can. The local parts store is $5.98 unless it's on sale for $4.99.
  4. Dan tells those new guys to work weekends. Pull rank, your gun or something time is wasting. I'm expecting Charlie to say any day now it's Snowing up here.
  5. Yea I remember. Thats the day I broke my speedometer cable and shattered the speedometer into pieces. Was a good ride those 1200 were singing. We done about 300+ miles that day.
  6. Fall colors are here. I was in the mountains today. Parsons,Davis, Canaan Valley, and Mt Storm WV. Grant County is changing fast. There is a massive Electric Wind Generator project building near the Mt Storm power plant. I have fond memories of the Red Baron riding through there with the Blue Beast. Those were the good ole days. Hey I need a ride soon. Today I was in a Ford.
  7. Your right thats not a good video. How could you miss 150 buzzards? What happened to that bottle of wine to?:confused24:
  8. MamaMo is working on some video. I think we should call the place buzzards view but that doesn't set well with her.
  9. Longs lines, frustration, and evening fist fights breaking out in the south east over no gasoline. Whats the problem seems to be plenty here even dropped the price .30 cents this week. Were now paying $3.68 for regular.
  10. I'll be in Mt Airy Maryland with the pickup next Saturday 9/27 buying tractor parts. Just thought you might be bidding on something up this way. Not to far from Baltimore if you need any work done over there? Any body want to meet for coffee or lunch I hope to find a cracker barrel at one of those exits maybe Fredrick Md.
  11. Bob at least they all work for a living. Thats different!
  12. Might have a cash business here. Some people would pay to see it.I could always say those are red headed eagles or something.
  13. It's just another evening at the camp. Sitting outside in the yard watching the evening sunset. Down under the road bank to my left I can hear squirrels barking and running in the fallen leaves. 75 yards to my right is a little doe nibbling on kernels of corn that have fallen from that 6 gallon bucket hanging from a tree.Gazing upwards just to the right of that western sunset the sky is filled with a strange sight. From the North,South,East, and West. It's the majestic gliding of 150 buzzards meeting in the middle and forming a hughe circling pattern. Like 747's circling OHara their on final approach for a 1/2 acre lot of white pines on top of a rock cliff overlooking the lake. From a quarter mile high down down down they spiral one by one. Each choosing his own runway. Third pine tree from the left looks good as down comes the landing gear. It's early to bed and early rise. Morning flights leave at 6 on Road Kill Patrol.
  14. Spring and Fall are my favorite times of year. Time to start some outside projects before winter. Keep an eye on the fall colors map for a few nice foliage runs next month. They have added some more wind generator projects around the mount storm area I need to check out. I got my wood stove installed at the camp. Now to cut some more wood.
  15. A friend of mine wanted to pay cash for a new vehicle. They would not give him all the rebates and cash incentives without a loan. He borrowed the money and payed it in full the first payment due.
  16. Glad you guys had a good time. Maybe we can make the next one.
  17. No credit unions here. Our states biggest employer is Walmart.
  18. Brad I think credit is just getting harder to get. I also think maybe a motorcycle loan carries a higher interest rate then a automobile. Good luck in finding a cheaper rate.
  19. The problem is not the people it's the lenders. I heard on the news a analyst talking about ninja loans. No Income,No Job, and No Assets but you still get the money. Some people will take it just because it's approved. Living with credit options is nice but living on credit is a disaster in the making.
  20. It's like a juggling act to monitor your credit score. The guy who has no debt probably has a much lower score then the guy up to his eyeballs but can manage it. Banks want to see a high score and so don't auto insurance company's etc.If you have little credit history then you may have a low score.
  21. For those of you who buy on credit a question? Yamaha factory financing rates are 7.99% for 72 months. Is this a good deal compared to say a bank? Are motorcycle financing rates higher then an automobile? I have used Yamaha before on ATV financing and found the minimum payment due is less then half the normal monthly payment on promotion.I never had to use that option but found it nice in case of temporary hard times. No money down just sign and drive. Don't forget about the catch though. If a payment is missed the default rate goes to say 27% or if the promotion is not paid in full at 72 months you can expect 18.99% for the balance.Banks may be cheaper interest but require money down or shorter terms. No I'm not buying just always looking.
  22. In todays economy if you want a job, loan, insurance, etc. It all may depend on your credit worthiness. Do you know your score? Here is an interesting comparison by state. Looks like Texas needs to sell those second gens and pay down some debt. Maybe get a first gen instead. http://www.creditreport.com/info/credit-scores/average-credit-scores.asp
  23. I sure could use a ride but it's not going to happen. I was up most of last night No sleep. I hate to miss this one but just not coming together. The scoot has already set for a month and won't see any riding time till October.
  24. The storm is moving quicker now. Less time to strengthen and still moving north. It might hit now friday evening and the eye path projections are shifting farther north every few hours.
  25. I hear it more and more today that STRESS is now the nations number 1 killer. I think most of us can say our stress levels are elevated compared to years gone by. People in my state work for some of the lowest wage averages nationwide, have farther to drive to work, and little time for exercise. It's a wonderful place to visit or retire in the country but making ends meet is tough. I'm saddened by todays research findings but facts are facts. Riding the venture is good therapy but crossing that creek creates more stress then I like. Here is part of the article. September 11, 2008 W.Va. No. 1 for stress, Cambridge study says Link found between anxiety, poor health Are West Virginians stressed to the max? By Eric Eyre Staff writer Are West Virginians stressed to the max? Apparently so, according to a study released Wednesday. West Virginia is home to the highest percentage of stressed-out people in the United States, research from the University of Cambridge suggests. West Virginians are more anxious, impulsive and stressed than residents of any other state - even New York, which ranked third - according to the study. "I've only driven through West Virginia, but it did surprise me that West Virginia was No. 1," said Dr. Jason Rentfrow, the study's author and a social and political science lecturer at Cambridge in England. "It didn't surprise me that the mid-Atlantic states were high. It may be that neuroticism is high in some states for different reasons." The reasons for West Virginia's high score: Researchers found a connection between stress and poor health. In West Virginia, people exercise less. Heart disease and cancer rates are sky-high. Life spans are shorter than just about anywhere else. West Virginians also were less likely to go out and spend time with friends. Entertainment and the arts don't flourish in stressed-out states, according to the study. "Obviously, it's not as simple as saying that a person is guaranteed to be more anxious if they come from West Virginia ... but we did find pretty clear signs that there are meaningful differences in the personalities of people living in different areas of the U.S.," Rentfrow said. Rentfrow and fellow researchers used the results of more than 500,000 surveys to create a "personality map" of the U.S., showing different types of people are more likely to live in different parts of the country. I'll be camping again this weekend. NO PHONES
