I would have gladly been there to hold his hand even though the pain would have cost me dearly. I am so sorry for your loss. Please pass on my empathy, sympathy, love, and prayers to your sister. I don't think Chris ever got over the loss. He used to talk to me a lot, and his Uncle AL helped him find a bike to buy recently. Just wish he could have come to us this time. I am a counselor and frequently work with folks who are depressed and in pain. Over the course of my career, I have lost a few patients to suicide even though I was watching for signs and checking with them on a regular basis. It can be very difficult to predict and intervene.
