Hubby and I were considering riding up to visit his parents in Young Harris. Called them to let them know when we'd ride up. His Dad said not to take the bike, the roads are washing out and in places icing up. Also mentioned there's sleet warnings daily. It seems odd weather for NE GA this time of year and I was wondering have any of you heard the same? I should mention if we took the bike we'd take the back roads up to Helen then Hiawassee, no going through Atlanta for us on the bike. We were going to make this our practice trip run before committing to Vogel since we are new to this.

My wife and I were walking along Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco today and spotted this RSV parked wiht another bike. Just wondering if it belongs to anyone on the board. It was loaded for travelling. Dennis

If you look inside of mine there are like little triangles facing forward and a bunch of them. Not sure of the purpose but I am wondering if I remove them somehow will I get a better tone. They really do not sound much different them the OEM's.....

Ok, I put on different exhaust, Barons Double Nasty pipes, put on the K&N filters, had the dealer rejet and repin the carbs (said it had to be done). Have any of you done this and what did it do to your mpg? Just wondering if anybody else has done this or not. My mpg has dropped from 44 to around 32 I'm thinking. Guess I'm just wondering if something could be wrong or if this is just the price I pay for putting on different exaust? Thanks for the feedback.

I'm sure there will be a lot of opinions on this, but I was wondering how you all do this while traveling. What I'm talking about is your GPS, helmets, jackets, cups, etc. When you stop, do you take all, some or none of this stuff with you? Does it matter if it's a 15 minute ice cream stop verses a 1.5 hour dinner? Also, do you keep your trunk and bags locked at all times? I've kind of bounced back and forth depending on the area of town I'm in but was wondering what others do while travelling.... Thanks for your help! Mike

after 3000 miles on my 01 rsv instead of getting use to it the chirping is driving me nuts. it's taking the fun out of riding. there is no way I could take a long trip with that noise. I've read about changing to the I basket just wondering what the success rate was before i spend the money. if the chirping doesn't go the bike will. thanks

May not be the right place for this ?, but I have found a (what they say is an) 1984 venture royale in the junk yard that is complete and they said they would let it go for $1200.00 I am OK with this price but the yard said that it needed a new stator.. found one on ebay for $139.00. here is the thing i am wondering about though, it has front and back floor boards with heel toe shifter as well as highway floor boards. did they offer the floor boards for the driver as an after market product for the first jen? I know that this was available for the passenger but have never seen this for the driver. the bike has 45000miles on it comes with all the keys and here is another thing that I am wondering, the top storage container lock assembly is the one that is actuated by 2 buttons http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqQOKpcE3JTCJC14BNzuuFkmqQ~~_14.JPG like this one? my 84 doesnt have this lock assembly (I insert the key unlock and lift), was this an option on the 84? Could this be an 85 with a good transmission? please help I wanna get this bike, so all I have left is to clear it with the financial advisor. Thanks in advance mike

Looking to install a auxilary fuel tank and was wondering if we can install fuel line directly to existing line from tank or do we have to install another peckcock then add lines to that? I know that the rsv's are not fuel injected but with the fuel pump set up i'm wondering if it's the same.

Just out of curiosity, How often do you need to air up your shocks. Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Never. Mine seem to leak down in about 2 weeks or less, I was wondering if leaking is normal or should I have it checked. Bike is still under warranty.

i have an escapade trailer with the old style 1157 bulbs in in it , is there an easy way to convert these to leds? i have found flat led plates at the local auto supply but wondering whats needs to be done to swap over thanks for the help steve

Can someone explain to me in layman's terms what the relationship is between these three and other pertinent output info? I.e., what is more relevant, Hp, torque, compression ratio, bore and stroke, displacement? Or(/and) does this relate to driving style and area (e.g. Florida Flat or Colorado curvy) thanks Oh, I'm wondering 'cause I was surfing the web and found what turns out to be a 1200, 65 Hp engine with I think it said 71ft/lbs (R1200CLC) and since I haul a sidecar and would like to continue doing so, is this something I should not consider or is it a possibility

Here in Wisconsin all the snow was almost gone and then this happened starting last night thru today 14.6" of Snow. I hate it , I hate it. Was thinking of getting the bike out being all the snow was gone and it did rain one day to get the salt off the roads but not anymore. Sad to say but just wondering were Spring is and if anyone can find it Please send it our way. Thanks have a great day Need PLEASE ASAP

Hello. New to the forum. I've been looking at several 80's touring bikes to purchase. I went and looked at a 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale yesterday, was wondering if there is anything I should be looking for or maybe staying away from. The bike I looked at has been sitting since August (small mom and pop dealer). When first started it was poping/backfiring on the right side exhaust. When warmed up it went away (I think it could be attributed to bad gas). It looks like the air suspension system is partially disabled, the compressor and valve unit assembly was in the rear trunk. Bike has 66000 miles on it. Radio works. Engine looks dry and doesn't smoke. It also has a utopia backrest upholstered to match the seat. I was wondering how parts availability is? Like, if I need to put a top end on it in the future can I still get piston rings and gasket set? They want $2499 for the bike and it looks complete. Any help would be appreciated. -
i just picked up my second feeler guage and they jump from .10mm to .12mm to 15,3 whers 11 13 and 14. i picked these up from auto zone. was wondering if anyone had luck getting more complete sets and auto parts stores locally:fingers-crossed-emo -

Since I got my 2nd Gen I've been following this topic pretty closely (something about having to replace a $700 part get's my attention). I haven't seen this discussed, but I was wondering if there is any common denominator with the shocks that have failed. Like is it mainly guys that run the max air pressure, minimum air pressure, mostly two up, greater weight load on the bike, etc, etc, etc. It seems odd to me that some go and others don't and if there's something I can do to help keep me in the "don't" category I'd like to do it. Anyway...just random wondering.
