  1. Ok guys my intercom system on 92 1300 seem to have stopped working. cords plugged in can hear it very low, the volume will not come up and when i turn off the intercom its like it has no affect can still hear small amount of volume through the helmet. I just put two new JM lower cables on and still no sound and you can not even talk through the system at all.
  2. My MP3 player just does not have enough volume, I was thinking about building an amp to boost the volume or buying a pre-made one and putting it inline in the fairing. Has anyone else done anything similar?
  3. OK, I love my Zumo 550 but I just can not hear it. What am I doing wrong. I have it attached inside the faring just like the article explained. I have the volume on the Zumo set at 100% and I have the AUX volume set at 30 and I can bearly hear it at 50 MPH. As you all know I do not have loud pipes. It is no better wheather I use the Head phones or speakers. Do I have a bad unit or did my wife buy a $600 gift :mo money:that-- in my opinion--sucks--
  4. So I got this trailer now to pull behind the scoot. It has those little 8" wheels ... can anyone tell me how much air I should maintain in them?? (I'm talkin air PRESSURE ... not volume LOL)
  5. Hey guys, got a problem I hope y'all can help me with. I've got a set of J&M headsets in Nolen helmets. I am quite pleased with them so far, however today when riding I noted I was getting engine noise (static) through the headset. It wasn't "terrible" but was darn annoying. Anyway, while i was stopped I went to adjust the intercom volume. when I hooked my headset back up I immediately encounted an Unbelievable LOUD SHRIEK!!!! The volume of this was NOT affected by the volume control (at least that i could figure out. I disconnected/reconnect a couple times with NO luck in making it go away. I was running late for home so I disconnected and highballed back to the house. Anyway, does anybody have any ideas/suggestion concerning resolving these issues? I'd really appreciate it! THANKS!!!
  6. It seems my volume knob quit working. The speakers beep when I change FM stations. No display when rotating the volume control. This is true for radio, cassette and aux. All other displays work and I can cycle through every selection. There is sound when CB is on but I cannot control it with the colume knob. SP is selected not HS. Just wondering if anyone else has had this propblem before I begin tearing things apart. Semper Fi Mark
  7. Any help appreciated the radio on my 08 RSV locks up randomly - can't change stations or enen shut it off for that matter. Only thing that will do anything is the volume dial. Until I pull into the dealers lot and park then works normal! Frustrating! Ken!
  8. A tribute to our military from the group Kiss. This was filmed in Iraq at a USO tour at a US Marine Base. Not what you think of Kiss doing! Just turn up your volume and enjoy! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MtdIO23MKM]YouTube- Gene Simmons Military Tribute[/ame]
  9. I am looking for a simple way to transfer the pillion passenger audio controls remotely to my sidecar (PTT for CB, Volume and Headset connection). Any suggestions welcome Thanks Pete:puzzled:
  10. I really want to hear Santana/Dave Clark Five/ Conway/Ten Years on my ipod/ear buds heading down the highway doin what a Royal Star does best. I wear a half helment with no front shield so the wind tends to drown out the high and lows. Any suggestion to get that music inside my head. Are there rheostats etc to increase ear bud volume. Ipod volume setting on these Sony ear buds ($85) is a joke when on the road. Thanks Max
  11. When I first got my 2009 Venture home...I noticed that when playing the music through the SPEAKERS...that the volume was speed controlled. In other words...at various speeds the volume would "auto" increase on it's own. I specifically remember that at 50mph the volume would go up quite a bit. That no longer happens. And I know about a month ago that the control center (black box on the left handlebar)...kinda FROZE UP and it took awhile for it unfreeze. So I don't know when it happened OR if there is a SETTING for that...has anyone experienced this or know about if it is a setting related thing in the audio controller. Thanks, Wally
  12. Hi folks! I recently (one year ago) added driving lamps to my 85 VR and I have had issues with the driving lamps taking alot of power to run. So much in fact, that when I'm running at approx 3500 - 4000 rpm the charging system can hold it fine but if I drop into city driving speeds, the draw becomes troublesome. After some city driving with the lamps on, my radio will drop in volume in relation to my turn signal. Blink on, lower volume, blink off, higher volume. (kind of funny now that I'm typing this). I have the positive running direct to the battery and my question is "Is there a better way to do this so the draw isn't quite so high?" The lamps 2 x 35w halogen. Stator is new in 2006. Any suggestions will be happily considered. Thomas
  13. I'm having a dickens of a time getting audio thru my headsets. When I play XM radio thru the speakers they will draw police attention because it can be loud. As soon as I switch to the headsets the volume drops to less than half. When using the headsets with the CB on and the XM on, I have to have the XM volume so loud it almost causes ringing in my ears just so that I get a faint CB reception. I know there is an answer - I just can't seem to find it. HELP !! btw - I have a Garmin 450
  14. So now that I have Ed-sets and have put some foam behind the helmet speakers,,, the music is awesome,,,, I actually listen to some of my tunes on my GPS. Seems everything good brings along something else to deal with. It's either I'm going deaf or Marca hears too well,,,, I think it's the later,,,,, either way, when I turn on the music she says it's a way too loud and so when I get it where she's happy, I can hardly hear it. So what I need now is a volume control that will fit the 5 pin cord that 83's to 85's come with. Is there such a thing?
  15. Has anyone else had a problem with radio interferance. Sitting in my driveway and the radio went nuts, noticed that the neighbour was using his table saw, when he turned it off the radio was OK..then went he turned it back on the inferance returned....even when the radio volume was turned off...is this normal John
  16. Big problem, last week my radio and cb quit working. To be more specific my speakers and headset will play a radio station but at a volume one can barely hear(must turn bike off). 1. All Controls work on handle bar control(just not loud enough) Must be on 30 to barely hear. 2. Audio fuses check out good. 3. Cleaned and dielectric greased ALL connections under fairing including radio ground and the red, yellow, white and blue booted connections. 4. Took controler apart and dielectric greased connection and bypassed volume control knob with no change in volume Question... Where in the heck is the amplifier on this bike? I have yet to find one.
  17. It seems as if my radio comes and goes when listening threw the headsets also when it is working the volume has to be turned up more than without headsets. I think there is two settings for IC volume and Radio volume. I also noticed the CB was recieving or doing something because the RX would light up by the headset symbol. Any ideas as to what is going on or is there a certain way to set things up??? Thanks
  18. I have just installed the Buddy Rich cable and before I put the faring back together I have a question. The MP3 player works and sounds just great through my helmet headphones with the volune on the bike audio system set fairly low arounf 6 or so but when I answer a phone call I had to turn the volume up all the way to 30 in order to hear the call. I have the volume set to 100% on the Garmin and the volume on my Motorolla razor phone up al the way. Any one have any ideas why I cant hear the phone call without turning the volume up all the way on the bike?
  19. My 01 RSV volume control on the rear speakers do not work. Any ideas as to what the problem may be. Thanks Jinx56:doh:
  20. The his in my helmet is really starting to bother me. I've noticed it since day one on the bike, if I have my helmet plugged in I get hiss. I like to be plugged in so I can switch to helmet speakers at freeway speeds to hear the stereo. At lower speeds I leave it on speakers. I have the intercom volume at 0, and it doesn't matter if I have the radio going to speakers or helmet there is a hiss. My wife says she hears it too, but she has a physical volume control back there and will just turn it to 0 and it goes away. (If I want to talk to her I tap her on the leg and she turns her volume back up.) But the only way I can get rid of mine is to unplug. Has anyone figured out how to solve this? One thought I have is to find an actual volume control that will plug in between the helmet and the bike, but as of yet I have not found one.
  21. The audio system on my 99 just doesn't seem to have enough power through the headsets. I have some of the mid-range (pricewise) J & M headsets, and with the IC at it's highest setting we sometimes struggle to hear each other. In addition, the radio volume seems weak also. At full volume it is still none too loud. I am running Road King pipes, so the exhaust volume isn't the problem. It does seem that the CB has plenty of volume....it'll blow my ears out. Just seems like the audio system doesn't have enough output power. Is this typical of the RSV's? Oh....I forgot to add that when I am playing MP3's through my GPS's player function I can get plenty of volume. Of course, the GPS has a volume control for the output so I can crank it up. One more thing......does the IC on the RSV really NOT have a VOX control? I can't find it if it does.... That seems incredible that an IC system would not include a VOX adjustment. Thanks, Joe
  22. Several folks knew that I was buying the Motocom Riderlink intercom system and I promised a review after I had the chance to test it. All in all I would have to say that I am pleased with the system, even at highway speeds it works pretty well as it allows conversation between the driver and passenger with little effort. The product comes well packaged and has enough extra connections to allow a MP3 player, cell phone, GPS, and CB to be hooked up to the unit. The built in FM radio has some drawbacks, actually to be honest it's pretty much useless. Sound quality and reception are very poor. The biggest problem that I have run into is the adhesive that holds the Velcro to the helmet and to the mike boom will not work with many helmets. I and my spouse wear Fulmer helmets and the plastic located right behind the padding is very slick. I ended up using "Liquid Nails" to hold the small patch of Velcro to the inside of the helmet. The only additional thing I believe the manufacture could do is either boost the volume between the driver and passenger or add a volume control. In heavy traffic it was a little hard to hear the passenger but it was still acceptable. In stop and go traffic (common in the Seattle area) I open the helmet visor all the way for air and added volume would have been nice. If your looking for an inexpensive intercom system I would recommend this product, but shop around! Prices ranged from 149.00 to 225.00. At last check 6/13/09, CB world out of Oregon had 4 units remaining.
  23. Well....my radio seems to not keep the volume all the time. I understand when the noise around the bike gets louder the radio increases in volume. Seems like sometimes it does not keep the volume when I am out by myself. Any thoughts????
  24. I can't seem to get the volume on the I-pod adjusted to be able to hear over the Zummo 550. Any solutions available? Thank you.
  25. Hey guys I am looking for a volume knob for my radio on my first Gen. not the tone (outer) but the volume (on/off) knob. Does anyone know where I can fid one or does anyone have one they would like to part with? I was going to post this in the classifieds but figured more people would see it here. Thanks in advance, Paul
