Does anyone know where I can find a T bar handle to put on the trunk of my trike? I've seen them on others, but can't remember who had them or where I can purchase one or two. I want to change out the lock on the trunk and would like to install a T Bar handle instead of just a lock. Any help would be appreciated! thanks Don

Wife and I wanted to add a trunk / tour pack for longer trips, to our Tour Deluxe. I bought a trunk bracket from a wrecked late model Venture. First thing I found was that the posts for the latch for the detachable passenger back rest are in the location where two mounting bolts need to be for the Venture bracket. So, I drilled them out from the back, then tapped holes for bolts. The weld from the pins left me with enough metal to get about 4 threads in each hole. I mounted the bracket...then.... I had purchased an aftermarket Harley tour pack as it had the largest capacity of any of the trunks I saw on the internet. It arrived, very nice with passenger back rest. Now my problem. The bottom of the tour pack is formed to fit a different bracket. It isn't just flat. Of course, these inverse ribs don't align with the Venture bracket. Has anyone dealt with this issue?

I like to know what type of aheasive is best to use to put a new Venture Emblem on the Red Reflector of the rear trunk (91 VR)?

Finding an original Venture Line trunk rack for my 1990 has been a fruitless endeavor. I like the look and quality of the Yamaha rack for the Second Gens., it is readily available and quality seems excellent (unlike the JCWhitney stuff). Has anyone out there in Ventureland ever installed the Yamaha Venture trunk rack intended for the newest Ventures on a First Generation, 1986-1993? If so, pictures would be great.

1989 VR 27,000 miles I just bought it and one of the twist hooks holding the little leather bag to the rear travel bag (trunk) is broken. I've got a replacement part. The screws go into the trunk, where the parts diagram shows there to be a "special nut". Pretty special alright because it is covered with metal frame inside the trunk that the hinges are mounted to as well as other pieces. I don't want to (probably won't) disassemble all that. Has anyone tried to unscrew this piece and get it back together? How did you manage the special nut? Is the nut spot welded to the frame or what? Thanks. Even though I just joined and this is my first post I've been trolling here a while. It's great. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10552988/IMG_0693.JPG

OK.. with the Hannigan conversion you loose the helmet locks that were mounted under the top trunk. What's everyone doing with their helmets when your fully loaded down? I had to replace my helmet from the accident last year and the new version is slightly higher on the top and will no longer fit in the top trunk either. I looked at a couple of other lock mounting systems but curious what everyone has found to work for them. pa_don

Have an 85 VR. I just restored the trunk, is/was there some kind of strap or cable that keeps the lid from flopping all the way over onto passengers seat? I was thinking of attaching some kind of cable but thought I would ask here first in hopes to get some creative ideas on how others have done.

Hello Everyone: Following in the foots steps of a few other RSTD owners. I recently finished installing a Harley Tour Pack on my 2005 RSTD. I had it painted to match the raven black color of our bike. I wired up the tail, running and brake lights last night. I was pleased with my first DMY trunk however we really wanted something a little bigger. I bolted the Harley Trunk directly to my Wompus rack and my wife was satisfied with the height. I have pictures but have not had good luck up loading them to the website the past few weeks. I have tried resizing them, but no luck yet. We are looking forward to the Cody Rally!!!

(trunk..typo) Went out to wire up the trailer pigtail and do some antena work this morning, and when I removed the trunk to get at the CB I found that the left front bracket was busted off completely. The break was rusted up pretty good so it probably happened before I bought it. Anyway... Anyone have a rack left over from a trike conversion or from a trunk mod?? I can get by for the time being with just the 3 attachment points, but it would be nice to replace the whole rack. BTW its ugly rusted too, or I'd take it down to the muffler shop and have it rewelded....

Ok been hearing about how all the second genners moved their trunks back to give their passenger a little more room. I was tols that it was already det up just had to move it. Ive been looking for a way to do this on a 1st gen. Looked at moving the trunk itself but dont have the skills to remake the mounts . Then considered moving the trunk rack mount back but it seems that isnt possible as it sets at an angle just behing the back light. Is there anyone out there who has already done this mod to a 1st gen and if so how did you do it? Any help would be appreciated David

The light bar on the trunk has a burned out turn signal and only one tail/running light that works. Last night I removed the three screws inside the trunk but the bar did not budge. If I recall correctly this light bar does require heating to release the glue to separate the lens from the base but before I break something, should the light bar come off the trunk easily with the screws removed or is it necessary to pop the lens off first?

Hi I recently bought a new trunk and it came without lock or fittings. I was checking Pinwall on Ebay but cannot figure out what pieces i need to buy in order to finish my trunk. I was wondering if anyone had some pic's of the inside of their trunk that they could share? It would help me visualise what I need to buy. The previous owner had a complete set of Givi luggage installed and I would like to replace those. I hope someone can help me regards Eddie in sunnybutbroke Ireland

I'm in the process of fabricating a detachable trunk rack for the Royal Star Tour Deluxes, 2005 up. This system will mount on the existing RSTD side rails which accomodate the existing detachable sissy bar system. It will consist of a flat rack, approximately 8x10, horizontal bars, no uprights above the rack. This will enable one to switch between using the stock detach system with a rack that attaches to the uprights on the sissy bar, allowing a soft luggage system, or switching to the trunk rack system, which would accomodate virtually any aftermarket trunks. This would allow for full detachability of both units. In addition, I am considering construction of multiple units, if the demand exists. I know I am simply fed up with having a detachable system that does not meet my specific needs. Feedback from fellow forum members is solicited. To be specific, If I build it, is their enough demand out there to make more than one. Any thoughts???

Decided it was time to make it so we could charge cell phones in the trunk. Starting thinking of the best way to make that work and came across this. http://goo.gl/McHpJ seemed like the perfect arrangement and cheap so if I broke one it wasn't the end of the world. cut the entire swivel plug off of it and ran a harness back into the trunk. Ran it right off the battery with a fuse and relay switching it on and off with the bike. A little velcro to hold it in place and we are golden!

Went out riding yesterday and on the way home ran slap into a major downpour:depressed: (***note to self: stop and don rain gear :doh:before you hit wall of water:rain2:) Anyway, stuff in the trunk and bags got wet, I know there is a "gasket" running through the lid, can these still be had and if so where? If not, what are the alternatives? Thanks

Coming home from MD weekend the left side of the trunk latch wouldn't open when we stopped to eat. I was able to force it open but then it wouldn't latch. When we arrived home the right latch wouldn't open. Again I had to force it. When I pulled the latch assembly off the trunk I found that the lock mechanism is held in by 2 screws, one was loose. Turns out there is a spring on each side that is continually trying to lock the latch, the lock cylinder pulls a mechanism against the springs to unlock. With the loose screw the pieces misalign causing the trunk to be locked even with the lock cylinder in the unlock position. Fortunately I was able to reassemble it and it now works fine. Just a tip that you might want to check those screws are snug. Apparently they can work loose in 20 years.....

My '91 VR came with an aftermarket light bar on the trunk. It has amber turn signals on the corners, "tail lights", just inboard, and the center section is a brake light. One of the turn signals burned out, and I thought I could get to the lamps by removing 3 screws from inside the trunk... Yeah, right. As it turns out, the turn signal lens, (and I'm assuming the red lens for the brake and tail lamps) just "pop" out. Apparetly the previous owner used RTV to keep the turn signal lens in place. Question is, does anyone know who made this light bar? I'd like to find more info about how it is mounted and how lamps are changed. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

on which uni trunk on E-Bay would be the stronger one of the two between the DMY or the VIP trunk. I just don't have the the extra cash to get RSV or the Harley tour trunk. So if anyone out there has exp. with either one I would like your input. Thanks Joe,

The trunk box on my 2010 suddenly will not open more than about 4 inches. It seems like i is getting hung up on the support rod. Any ideas?

Ok, another question from a potential new member. This one is about a trunk rack for my 2007 RSV. I would like to get one for an upcoming trip, but since times are rough and money is an issue, which one would you recommend? I'm also a tad nervous about the installation, as drilling into my trunk lid sounds like something that I could screw up in a hurry. Your thoughts?

I have a 1998 Royal Star Tour Classic that i would like to mount hard saddle bags on. I am wondering if my current mounts and supports will be fine to mount say tour deluxe or venture bags on. I currently have soft leather bags but like i said would like to go to hard bags and possibly a trunk, again maybe a venture trunk. Just curious if anyone has attempted this and what modifications if any were required. any info would be great!

Greetings. Have been looking for a Venture trunk for my 1998 Royal Star Tour Classic. Can be found at PinWall Cycles but these clever guys tear them apart and sell them piece by piece $#/$#%#$%%$%####,,,,,So I have started buying things from different sellers on eBay and so far I have bought the Trunk frame and the backrest pillow. If anybody out there in VentureWorld knows of any part for the Venture trunk or a complete trunk that is available then please contact me. Desperately need a trunk so I can make Greta (the boss) comfortable on our trip in the States the coming June. Friendly regards from Iceland (Norway at the moment) Jonas

I saw a 60 something year old lady come into the park today on a Victory Vision trike. I think I like it better than the two wheel version. I didn't get a picture of it but here's a link to a picture of one. I don't recall seeing a trunk on hers but maybe it's removable. Or it could have been there and I just didn't notice. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2011models/2011-Victory-VisionTrikea.jpg
