Hello my friends another question about tourpack mounting, I am wanting to maintain the quick release system, I do not want to butcher up my oem passenger backrest. So what alternatives are there? I will be mounting a Roadking tour pack, if I can figure this out. Today my son purchased an new 06 Tour Deluxe with 0 miles! His first motorcycle. Thanks to all who offered him good advice after he posted here yesterday. I thought it was a good deal but you all confirmed it. I'm excited for him and know he will love the bike. The only problem being he lives in Texas and I'm in Iowa so we won't be able to ride together very often.

Well it took some work but I got it all together before riding season... My Tour Deluxe Now has the Venture Tour Pac and Pillow top seats.... Will post pic later

Does anyone have or know of a Batwing fairing for for a 2007 Tour Deluxe. Looking for one with radio and speakers.

I am looking for a pair of Tour Classic Studded Yamaha Sadddlebags for my newly acquired 97 RS. Would prefer tan leather since it sports tan corbin saddle and pillion and tank panel as used on the Palomino edition. Any condition, water stained are OK. If I can find a beat up set of black used ones, I will have them recovered in tan leather at a shop here. Tan ones pictured here below. I haven't been over here in a while and I'm not sure if any of these guys were members but we had a tragic event last week with members of the UK Venture club who were over in Italy riding with what was the European Venture club that evolved into the Motorcycle Touring Club of Europe, MTCE. I've started the mod to my 06 RSTD, in about 1 week it should be completed.. I have all the parts needed to install the Venture tour pak and seats to transform it into a Tour DeVenture..... Next week this time I will be in Memphis, Tn. hopefully having lunch with a very large group of Ventureriders then off to St. Jude to give them some money and take a tour of the facility. Hope to see a lot of bikes and members there. Be careful. Planning a tour through South Western Ontario next week. I'll be somewhere between Windsor, Brantford, Orangeville and The Bruce. My focus is to rally small meat markets\butchers together in trying to change the way our provincial government is handling the inspection system. I suppose it could be seen as a holiday and I kind of like that idea, but I will be focused on this issue, as change is drastically needed in order to save businesses such as ours. Trouble is, most guys feel that they are all alone and have to deal with the government on a one to one basis, so I plan to change that thought somewhat,, maybe even start a new association. So if you know of a small meat market or butcher, let me know, I'll try to pay them a visit.

Back from the circle tour around Lake Superior, What a great ride. Sunny and warm days the whole trip, except for Superior Wisconsin which we were told NEVER gets warm. And to those crazy Canadians, is 90km/hr just a mild suggestion as to what speed to drive? At 90 EVERYONE from Grandma on her way to bingo to the double loaded semi driver will run you over. So we made good time through Canada. If you are ever near the Keweenaw Peninsula you must drive M-26 from Eagle River to Copper Harbor, there's no better road in Michigan bar none. Now some of you may of heard of this, we went in a little restaurant and they had a Ruben sandwich, BUT instead of using corned beef, they used fresh caught Lake Superior White Fish. Sounded strange was VERY good. 83 VR ran great. Mileage from 36mpg (keeping in front of Canadians) to 48mpg just tooling around. If you have never done the circle tour it's worth doing. Saw quite a few 1st gens but only 2 2nd gens. Need the 1st gen speed to keep from being run over. lol.

Will a Venture seat fit a Tour Deluxe without much modification? My wife likes the venture seat better than the stock 2005 Tour Deluxe. Thanks:fiddle:

Here are a few pics of the detachable bracket i'm manufacturing & selling. This bracket has Rosette thumbscrews which make the on/off process quick & easy. There are six (6) one inch slotted holes to make the bracket fairly universal, although you may need to drill your own holes if your tour pak can't make these holes work. Can be purchased in black powder coat to match the bikes framework, unfinished (either one $199.00 + shipping) chrome plated ($325.00 + shipping). the Rosette thumbscrews will screw directly into the existing threaded (chrome capped) hole on either side of fender bracket. http://i42.tinypic.com/1hcpk0.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/5n55pu.jpg

Does anyone know where I can get the inside dimensions for the RSV bags? I'd like to figure out what size carry bag I might be able to take with me when I fly up to get my '01 tomorrow. I can always just carry a few things in a paper gift bag if need be, but if I knew the inner dimensions I could take something that will fit right in. I've got a few different choices here from lunch coolers (I know these would fit) to a KLR650 tail bag (17x11x6 I think). I was told a 16.5x14 laptop case will fit in the tour pack, so I'll have my laptop bag there with room for a few more items. I don't have the height available in the tour pack though, so if the tour pack dimensions are known that would be nice to. -
Hi to all. I currently ride a Honda ST1300. It's a great bike, but I am having trouble getting used to the riding position (even with the risers). Before the ST I had ridden cruisers for years (39 year riding experience). I am considering moving back to the cruiser world, but want to keep the V-4 for smoothness. I am just interested in hearing from the Tour Deluxe crowd on what you consider the strengths and weaknesses of the bike.

I finally gave in to temptation and bought a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe/14000 miles. I was wondering if anybody had any advise or items of interests about this bike I should know about. I thought I got a good deal having paid $8000 for this classy machine.

Finally got the prototype detachable tour pak bracket back from the water jet shop (thought it was going to be laser cut). i'm attaching some pics. keep in mind that this material is only .060 thick and the final product will be .125 (i.e. 1/8"). there are several changes to be made, one is more radiusing on several areas, another is removing some additional material from the sides, and possibly utilizing gussets if necessary. you will notice that the front of the bracket uses the stock front mount for the stock backrest, you will also notice the back of the bracket uses additional docking hardware with locking mechanisms. the tour pak in the pic is one i purchased for approx. $110.00 (plus shipping), it is ABS plastic and actually has lines on the top of pak which mimics the gas tank lines. we will be repainting the tour pak (getting rid of that silly yellow dot on the top of tour pak) and will also be painting the bracket to match the bike. feedback would be appreciated, thanks. and keep Freebird in your prayers and pay your subscription today (additional donation would be awesome)!! http://i42.tinypic.com/359flnm.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/x391dg.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/fn5j43.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/2iqho42.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/aamg.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/zss36x.jpg -
I want to buy the Venture or the tour Deluxe, and can't decide. I like the venture, but wish it had the tour deluxe seat and seat height, as it is lower. Also, I like the trunk on the venture, but wish it were sort of quick release so I could take it off for a sportier look when I didn't need it. Any thoughts from the people that have these bikes?
