  1. Now that I've finally learned to attach pic's I thought I'd show you my other hobby. Her name is Grace and she's a 6 year old Belgian draft horse. I'm a big guy 6' 4" and 250 lbs so I never would have felt comfortable riding a smaller horse. She goes out for training in april and I can't wait to get her back. Horseback on sat. motorcycle on sunday. woohoo!
  2. OK here's the agenda so far. We are leaving on the 27th around noon give or take. We are meeting up with Dingy in Madison Ohio sometime late afternon to exchange a couple of parts and some convewrsation/refreshments at exit 169 (or was it 167?) I think. We want to make it to at least Cincinatti that day. ATTN: Yama Mama, maybe meet up with you and Ron for a bit?? Sunday we plan on getting to Murray Ky. by early evening at the Best Western Hotel near the airport. Drop off Sexi Monday morning and are available for free time with any members in the area. This includes Monty, B2Dad and Mom plus a few other members close by I think. Want to see Monte's new scoot!! I'm leaving it up to Monte to work out the details, late dinner on Sunday is also an option. We check out of the Best Western Tuesday morning and are on our way to Nashville for 2 days. Staying at a Hampton for two nites, can't remember which one but will supply the info later. Anybody in the area there?? Lets meet up!! Thursday night back to the same Best Western, and pick up Sexi Friday after the surgery. Can't wait!!! Head back Friday evening, destination??? Travel the rest of the way home Saturday just in time for Easter Sunday and family over for dinner. Want to see the Corvette Museum and assembly plant in Bowling Green some time during the week as well if possible, but not a "have to do" event. We can always do it some other time in a couple of years. Input??
  3. Got my chrome all on, added another light and had her all shinned up for Sunday. But Sunday did not live up to its name and it was wet and cold. But today the sun came out and even tho I had to putt 4 miles of dirt road to get to pavement- cuz theres a bad bad mudhole my usual 1/2 mile to the pavement, I was able to get some wind in my face. First ride of the year and she felt good, bike felt strong and im excited for summer!
  4. Now I know what it feels like to live in the north, this weather in the midatlantic is driving me crazy. The bike hasn't been out of the garage since before Christmas. It took me 5 hours with the tractor to dig out the driveway on Sunday and now where getting more. The wind is going to get high and blow it around as well. Where starting to blame the darn Groundhog.
  5. At least the Northern section. I took this from another forum. Looks legit to me. Could be an interesting weekend if they are correct. You are receiving this message because my forecast team feels it is imperative for you to be aware that another round of high impact winter weather is slated to occur from Friday into Sunday across the I-95 corridor. This event is likely to equal or exceed that of the December 19, 2009 storm and may resemble the March 18-22, 1958 storm in terms of duration and snowfall. In that event, areas of Baltimore County received 4 feet of snow. What you will read below will not be released publicly until Tuesday or perhaps Wednesday, and may contain some changes, but we are confident of our investigation thus far. Our pre-public statement: The Foot's Forecast team in Baltimore, MD expects an historic snow event to occur during the weekend of February 5-6-7. Snow is likely to begin Friday and extend into Sunday. Amounts across the eastern Mid-Atlantic may approach 24" by Saturday evening. Areas of elevation will see enhanced snowfall that may approach or exceed 30". Several computer models already project nearly 2.0 inches of liquid equivalent for this storm, which at a basic 12:1 snow to water ratio would easily produce 2 feet or more. This would shut down most roads and interstates and result in states of emergency from Virginia northward to Massachusetts for several days. Meteorologists at the federal level http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/discussions/pmdepd.html> have been releasing statements on this potential since Sunday afternoon, the text of which can be found at HPC, NOAA's Hydrometeorological Prediction Center. Our information does not constitute an official statement nor do we claim to represent the National Weather Service. However, the NOAA agencies which serve the NWS have already made clear their belief this will be a high impact event for the I-95 corridor http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/threats/threats.gif>. We believe that educators, administrators and county officials need to be closely monitoring this potential as it will have a high impact on the school system for a long period of time following the storm. For additional details, visit http://www.footsforecast.org for further information.
  6. The gravel roads out to the pavement are almost melted clear, just another couple of sunny days:sun1:and I'll be able to get the bike out to the pavement for a ride... But look what's coming: ... Winter storm possible Friday through Sunday... A strong winter storm will affect much of the northern plains Friday through Sunday. This system will bring freezing fog and freezing rain to the region on Friday... and the potential for 6 or more inches of snow Saturday through Sunday. In addition to the snow... strong northwest winds may cause considerable blowing snow which could reduce visibilities. Uncertainty exists regarding the exact track of this storm and snowfall amounts... but it is likely that some parts of northeastern Wyoming and western South Dakota will be impacted. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio... internet... or your local media
  7. Just looked outside and it is pouring it down!! Nov 27 at 0910 hrs. No ride today!! Maybe Sunday??
  8. Tail of the Dragon on GMA Sunday
  9. The drawing for the bike will be done this Sunday 11/15/09 @ 8:00 PM at the end of a ride from the Aerie to Helen, Georgia and back to the Aerie. The ride has been advertised in Full Throttle Magazine, Thunder Roads of Ga. and on Bikerornot.com. The cost of the ride is $35.00 per bike which buys 1 raffle ticket plus $10.00 per rider. To date there has only been about 650 tickets sold out of 1000 maximum tickets to be sold. Someone will definetly win this bike on Sunday. If you have already bought tickets your odds are pretty good. If you want to increase your odds there still tickets to be sold before Sunday.

  11. Weather is supposed to be beautiful Sunday with temps in the low 80's so were heasding to Tampa (Brandon) for a nice Sunday ride to see mom in law. (Ok so there has to be a hitch somewhere, right? ) So if you see an absolutely drop dead beautiful 99 silver RSV with an equally stunning driver STOP HIM...he stole my bike.....
  12. Just an up-date on the thumb brake installed on the quike. Quickstep had a devil of a time getting it to bleed and get the pressure up, but finally worked. It worked really well on the ride yesterday (Sunday) and isn't taking me that long to get used to. Sure is crowded on the left handlebar though To Qickstep: thanks Possum
  13. I bought my bike new in 9/05. Never had a problem with the battery. Went to maintenance day @ Freebirds and installed a mic mute. Parked bike for a week after getting home. Bike wouldn't start because the battery was dead. Bought a new battery and it worked fine for several weeks. Rode all day one saturday and parked bike until the next saturday. Battery dead again. Called the dealer that sold me the battery and they asked me to bring it in and they would test it. The battery was so dead they couldn't get a reading so they replaced it with a new battery at no charge. Shock! The new battery worked fine. I hadn't ridden the bike in a week so sunday I started the bike and let it run a few minutes and switched if off. I could tell the battery was fine sunday because as soon as I switched on the bike you could hear the fuel pump ticking fast with full force. This morning I went to start the bike to ride to work and the battery is dead. Could I have done something when I installed the mic mute to cause this?
  14. Nice 1st gen at Ricketts Glen State Park, in Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 6, around 11 a.m. - nice two tone maroon bike with PA tags?
  15. Well folks, Eileen got home last Friday and things are starting to calm down a bit now. I tell you though, we REALLY need a couple of days for ourselves now and we are going to try to take it this weekend. I will be away from the computer for a few days so as difficult as it may be, please TRY to be good. If any of you send me an email or a PM, it will probably be Sunday night before you get a response. I apologize for that but we really need this time away now. Thanks for your understanding.
  16. Just wanted to share with you all the great ride I had on Sunday. Alan removed the back brake pad to give room for my right boot and I led a Ulysses Club ride for the first time in two year's. We went up into the hills for breakfast, and we were joined by 34 bikes!!!!!! Alan rode pillion with me (trusting guy) and after brekky we rode around the dam and back down the hills to finish down on the foreshore for coffee. MAGIC:clap2:
  17. This Sunday is Biker Sunday at our church. After church there will be a meal and some biker games. Afterwards there will be a 50 mile ride. The pastor has asked me to lead the ride. The route has been laid out. All two lane state hwy. The middle section has several 15 & 25 mph curves. We are expecting somewhere between 50 to 100 bikes. I've never road with a group before (let alone lead one). So what is a recomended speed to travel for the ride, and the curves? Thanks! for the help.
  18. seen two RSV on Sunday on I24 out side of paducah KY both were silver and both had trailers on the back any body here?
  19. Hey Cinderella and Wrongway and everyone else thinking of Lamberts on their way to the 2009 Rally- Are you still planning to meet up at Lamberts for lunch on Sunday? As you know NEWTrk and I can't be at the Hub this year thanks to our daughter making wedding plans and expecting us to be there, but thought that we could meet up with you at Lamberts on Sunday if it's still in your plans. Let us know if you are still planning of the 12:30 - 1PM timeframe and we'll see you there. BTW we also have some raffle prizes to donate and this would save us the cost of mailing them.
  20. Just to put this out there. We are leaving St. Louis area Sunday morning to get to the Hub. Takes about 5 hours according to mapquest. We do plan on going through Springfield, Mo. and stopping at Lamberts on the way for lunch (Mmmmmm Lamberts ). If anyone wants to come by the house Saturday and ride with us, or meet us along the way, let me know. See you there.

  25. Well Just got off the phone with Buddy. His Goldwing is on its way out the drive and will be officially on its way to Sherman Illinois by Sunday 3/15 and the RoadKill Racer will be headed to Oklahoma. We came to an agreement and we are trading, or course with some $$ in his pocket. Hopefully Peg will be able to keep him at home OR riding a little more. I'm both excited and sad. My 2003 has never given me any trouble beyond the usual, but he should be good to go. All the standard things have already happened and been fixed. We plan to meet in Springfield, MO on Saturday and then both head home on Sunday. Unless you guys kick me out I plan to hang around and cause more trouble :whistling:and attend as many get togethers as I can get to. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can until then here is Buddy's picture.
