General question, I know, but can anyone give me a ball park idea of what it would cost to have an RSV painted? I would probably do something straight forward, like the Black or Silver that Yamaha currently uses. Maybe red, but again, nothing fancy. Thanks for any insight.

I've got a few nicks in my paint... does anyone know where to get touchup paint for the 99 RSV?

Greetings, I was at the local dealer couple days ago , The owner of the place has a 2000 mm RSV that he will sell me for 8500.00. What I was wondering is that a good price for it? And if so he said he had not started it for about a year. He told me they would clean the carbs and put in a new batt. It is his own personal bike. He was in a car accident so he was not able to ride anymore. Buy the way it just has 1000 mls. on it. What other things should i BOLO for? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. bossman.

Does anyone have any idea what a good "out the door" price should be for an '08 RSV? I've tried calling a few dealers and they ALL say "shop around, tell me your best price, and we'll beat it". Well..... if NOBODY will tell me a price untill I'm satnding in front of them with a big sack of money.... how do I shop around??!! Sorry for rambling, just a little frustrated... any thoughts would be helpful....thanks

Hello all, this is my first attempt at a post. Been reading and observing for two or three months now and would like to say thanks for all the information members share on this sight. I've read the harley r/k mufflers will fit rsv, I have a neighbor that has a set of harley electra glide mufflers for sale cheap. Will these fit a 07 rsv? Thanks Scott from Il

Finally had a chance to see what this baby will do. Saturday Mama & I joined two other couples (scream'n eagle types) for a decent ride. We took the back way, up 285 to Pine Junction (was within a block of "Clearview") then south through Deckers & on to Woodland Park which was the first destination site of the season. (The Dust-off Run) They had a "Poker Run, a band, beeeer, 'dogs & door prizes. (It was a fund raiser for a local charity) The weather was perfect (high 70's). That stretch of road was a perfect test area for the RSV. It has curves, winds, straights, narrows, wides, ups & downs. It was about an eighty mile ride each way through the Colorado Mountains. It's the same route we used to take on our way to Cripple Creek for the MIA/POW rally. Mama loved her new "throne". She was very comfortable. I thought the RSV handled very smooth. Our HS's worked well & the much discussed gear whine was not all that annoying. The SET's were not an issue. They either didn't keep up or couldn't keep up. I did things on the RSV that would of ground the floorboards off my old VTX. All in all, I am very satisfied with my new ride. I think I'll keep it a while. It's Official, The riding season has begun! DNB

Here are some pics of an RSV muffler that I opened up. If you look closely at the rear section you will see tha drilling holes in the rear cone does nothing if you don't also drill the second plate. I can post more pics if anyone wants a specific view. AL

I've been thinking about getting a louder horn for the RSV. I'm looking at the Stebel SNH-02 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stebel-Nautilus-Compact-Motorcycle-Air-Horn-Chrome_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ34284QQihZ014QQitemZ330219056234QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Has anyone put this on their RSV, and if so, how easy/hard is this to do? Cheers,

Have any of you heard of, or have tried this oil filter? I couldn't find an application chart, but I'm sure they have the spin-on one for the RSV, as it's very common to Japanese motorcycles. www.motorcycle.com/products/kp-engineerings-reusable-oil-filter-71983.html

Is this something new in the industry ? I went to 2 different Yamaha dealerships to hopefully test drive an RSV, and they had absolutely none in the showroom, however, there were 2 being held at their warehouse. Last new bike I bought (1999) the dealer handed me a set of keys and said "have fun". I actually bought the bike after the test drive. I don't think I'd buy a bike unless I could test drive it first, maybe I'm a minority in that aspect. Maybe I never will get my RSV. Oh well, that's my rant for the day. Ya'll have a nice day and ride safe. -Dean-

Well this morning at 10:00, 38 degrees f. Road my buddies V*1100 Custom into our local dealer to see about trading (he's got a broken arm). Hopped on that thing and it felt like I was on a mini bike with my knees up around my chin . It has a Mustang seat that really pushed me forward, No shield either. Froze my face off before I got the 6 miles to the Dealer. Made me sooooooooooooo glad I have a venture with all the protection. Did kind of like the light feel, but wasn't all that much better than the RSV. Well he ended up making a deal on a new Black 07 V* 1300 Tourer. Seems like it will be a nice bike. Thank goodness I didn't have to ride the old one home. He should have his cast off when its time to pick it up as he's getting some extras installed too.

I just posted my 2000 Yamaha RSV MM again after someone had some interest in from this forum but I never heard back from him again so I decided to put it up for sale again. I really need to get rid of it because I don't ride it enough to justify keeping it. If anyone knows of anyone that is looking for one point them in the direction of the classified section. Thanks

Well I guess I have some thinking to do. Especially this year we have had so many accidents and lost so many that my will to ride has been kind ot shot right now. Ive rode once in the last 10 weeks and the last time was a month ago. Ive already started clearing the garage. The 1007 Honda shadow 1100 ACE that I customized will be on Ebay starting tomorrow and honestly im really thinking of putting the RSV up and selling it. Jebbles has spoken a few times of wanting to find a 1960s Mustang to restore or just get one ready to ride. Really been on my mind. Besides Ive been filling the time that I used to ride with fishing and playing with my 21" Mako. How can you get enthuiastic about riding if all you see are friends getting hurt. Now with GaryN and Leslie we have another seriously hurt and One gone to be with the Father. Makes me wonder how long before its me. With all the unlicensed Illegals and people who are in so much of hurry they just dont care how long before its mu turn? I live in an area that once was a small farm area and now every weekend we get the Cityiots (N Y City idiots) come out here to practice driving and I alone have had may close calls this summer alone. Im no really sure what to do yet but Ill let you know. Any interest in the RSV?

I have a few sets of the (Discontinued) Royal Star Chrome Rotor Covers that I'm going to put up for sale and I don't know what they're worth. I was wondering what VRs that have them paid for them... And what Caliper Covers did you use with these.. From what I understand is the RS Caliper covers won't work on the RSV. Thanks Maineac

Hello from NW Indiana. (20 miles from Chgo) and thanx for the warm welcome. 86er suggested that I place this request in the watering hole and that someone(s) may be able to help me in my quest. I have been looking for a well-maintained (preferably low mileage) specimen of the 2000 Millenium RSV. (pearl white w/ tan seats). I currently ride a 1985 Honda GoldWing Aspencade w/ 62K miles. It is a great ride but its time for an upgrade and I love the look of the MM. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this Venture family. Jerry
