  2. I didn't know where to post this... Desperately needing the right rear (#3) carb for a 96-97 Royal Star, part #4NK-14903-00-00. Might be interested in a complete set of 4 carbs, also. In the process of trying to remove the float pin, I broke the pin tower off. Please, someone, help me out! Thanks! I'm not interested in 32mm carbs, just the stock 28mm set up. According to the parts fiche, the following will interchange. 1996 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AH 1996 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AHC 1996 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATH 1996 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATHC 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13AH 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13AHC 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13ATH 1996 ROYAL STAR XVZ13ATH_ATHC ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ13ATHC 1996 XVZ13THC 1997 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AJ 1997 ROYAL STAR - XVZ1300AJC 1997 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATJ 1997 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC - XVZ1300ATJC 1997 XVZ13AJ 1997 XVZ13AJC 1997 XVZ13ATJ 1997 XVZ13ATJC
  3. As many of you already know I started making an auxiliary harness for the 2nd Gen Royal Star Ventures a few months ago. These plug in between the connectors under the seat that connect the main harness to the fender harness and allow you to easily make connections to the taillight, brake light and turn signal circuits for adding more lights or attaching to a trailer harness. I am happy to announce that with the help of some folks here and also over on Delphi that I can now expand the offering to include 1996 to 2001 original Royal Stars, 2005 and up Tour Deluxe, V-Stars and Road Stars. I was finally able to obtain the second style connector used by Yamaha. You can see a photo of the basic RS Venture harness in the Second Gen Parts Classified section. I am sorry to say that I still have not found the connectors for the GEN I Ventures and Venture Royales, but I am still looking. Thanks again to all that have purchased harnesses already and for all of the positive feed back I have received on them. Please do ride safe.
  4. Hello, i'm looking at a 98 Royal Star Tour Classic tomorrow. it has 30K on it, and every accessory i'm looking for already on it(driving lights, driver & passanger floorboards, saddle bags, lindby crash bar with additional highway pegs, and aftermarket exhaust) i'm looking for some input on what you think of Royal Star (obviously it's going to be slightly biased if you're a member of this forum) but what are the pros and cons in your opinion? right now i have a Hyosung GV250. it's miniscule compared to the RS, but i need something bigger because i con't ride for more than 30 minutes witout severe a bachache. i feel in love with this bike as soon as i asaw it (and i looked at a LOT of bikes)the only thing i'm uneasy about is the fact that's it a 98. any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Hi, i am interested in a Royal star 96, is not in optimal condition but is cheap. I like challenges but would like to know what are the know problems i can find out so i can look for them. Ive seen that the 99 and up are a little higher (better ground clearence) than the older one, is it possible to rise the older version? i am a little concern about clearance. I live in a high mountain country. Is possible to adapt the air suspension form the newer models... i like that too. Can someone tell me what is the normal MPG that this bike does? how long will a tank last. I usually do large trips and with harleys and they have a 200 miles tank... I appreciate any help given to make my mind about this bike. I also have the chance for a Road Star, but like this one better (less vibration). Thanks!!
  6. Hello everyone this is my first time to post. A big thanks to Freebird for your help. I just purchased a 1993 Yamaha Venture Royal and the turn signals are not working. They are not getting power to them and all the fuses are good. Can anyone help. Thanks
  7. Does anyone know if you can somehow adapt one of the new Royal Star seats to a Royal Star Venture?
  8. I have a 1997 royal star deluxe, i took it to shop and was told it needed Cam Chain Tensioners, 2 weeks no repair yet..I am wanting to know how to do this, Does anyone have the how to info on replacing Cam Chain Tensioners. Needing bike before next weekend and not looking good....PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks
  9. I have a question, regarding Yamaha's use of part numbers. Is Yamaha consistent with their numbering system, for identical parts, across models and years? If the same part was used in a Venture, VMax and/or Royal Star, during several model years, would the part numbers be the same?
  10. Here's the intro and I'm sure I'll post often. I ride a 1998 Royal Star "TBM" (Thee Blaque Mistress) that just cracked 10K a few weeks ago. Best bike I've owned out of 6. Google Searched for a Royal Star Forum and this was one of the top ones. Popped on, registered and found the answer to the 3 questions I had in minutes... Mainly how to remove the tank to replace the air filter. So...plunked down my $12 and became a supporter. Thanks for the informative site and see ya around. Keith
  11. Looking for something to replace my old 1200 Goldwing with for every day all weather use.(I ride full time year round) I like my RSV and may get a second for "Beater" use but I've seen a few Royal Stars for pretty good prices. How well does the Royal Star with factory windshield and lowers protect rider from cold and wet? Looks like there is very little protection for the hands and legs. Maybe just looks?
  12. Can anyone tell me if the GEN I (MKI or MKII) use the same electrical conectors and pin out as the GEN II Royal Star Ventures do where the main harness connector to the rear light harness under the seat? I have started making a jumper harness for the GEN II Royal Star Venture and was asked if the harness will fit a GEN I MK II, but I have no clue and do not know any one in the area that has a GEN I of any type that could be used to check it out. Wiring diagram and pin out is attached, photos can be seen in the GEN II classifieds in my ad. Thanks for any info.
  13. Anyone ever heard of a royal star super tour? Some guy is advertising one on craigs listhttp://elmira.craigslist.org/mcy/2852599000.html says its a 1400cc collectors edition. sound like a scam to me.
  14. I'm back and looking to buy a Royal Star Venture. I've owned an 83, 86, and 89 Venture Royale. I was not able to flat foot these bikes but never had an issue until I had to have major back surgery (thank you Ms. drunk driver ). I sold my 89 after I almost dropped it when my foot slipped at a red light and the back pain it caused was almost too much to handle. I'm ready now to get back on one but not unless I can flat foot it. Yesterday I tried out a Royal Star Venture, Newer Goldwing, Kawasaki, and a Harley (all touring bikes). The only one I could comfortable flatfoot was the Harley and of course it was the most expensive. I really have my heart set on a Royal Star Venture. Is there a safe, logical way to lower these bikes that won't ruin the handling? Is there an aftermarket comfortable seat that may help? Thanks for any advice.
  15. 96 royal star has 4 mufflers. will a 2 muffler system from 97 and newer fit my 96 royal star classic tourer? biker47

  17. In Ohio, vehicle registration renewals are the same as your birthday. Mine will be coming up the first of March so I just went online and renewed them all. I think that registrations in Ohio are fairly reasonable compared to some states. I'm just curious what it costs all of you. I just renewed registrations for: 2011 Kia Sorento 2004 Chrysler Crossfire 1999 Royal Star Venture 2000 Royal Star Venture 20somthing Bushtec Trailer Total cost was $160.35 That included my option to add $1.00 to each one as a voluntary contribution to the Ohio vision program. How does this compare to what you pay in other states? The motorcycles were actually 28.87 each, the trailer was 20.87.
  18. Hi All, Can anyone tell me if the rear rear fender struts are compatible between the Royal and Road Stars? They look almost identical. I have stripped the sissy bar and rear seat off my new(to me) Royal Star Standard and dont have the crescent shaped fender struts and I need to replace them. If anyone has any lying around they would be prepared to part with please let me know. Any help appreciated.
  19. Hey guys, I've got a 96 royal star and I'm trying to find a replacement windshield. None of the vendors I talk to can identify it so, I'm hoping one of you might be able to help. This is the best pic of the bracket i have right now. I'll try and snap some better pics later. Thanks!!! http://i1020.photobucket.com/albums/af321/burgurboy/IMG_20111207_194425.jpg
  20. On the "Farewell / good by" thread, I read your post and looked up and noticed the title has got to be all wrong. Insteaad of this> It should read > VentureRider.org Dedicated to Yamaha's GREAT Royal Star Venture, The Antique Venture Royal and all Royal Star Motorcycles. Bryan
  21. I have a Tour Classic that I bought with the windshield missing. I have some parts here but darned if I can figure out how it mounts and what else I need. The windshileds that I see for sale (here for example: http://houston.craigslist.org/for/2638821004.html ) don't look anything like the diagrams on bikebandit (here: http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2001-yamaha-xvz1300ltn-royal-star-tour-deluxe/o/m10192#sch517898 ). All three posts advertising a 1996-2001 Royal Star windshiled look like the craiglist one above. Can anyone look at these diagrams and enlighten me as to what the difference is? Can someone take a closeup picture of their windshield so I can see? I actually have some of the parts like in the Craigslist link above, but it seems too narrow to go on the factory mounts (items 18 & 19 on Bikebandit link) that are on the bike. I have been keeping my eye out for a year proper Royal Star in San Diego to look at, but none so far. Also, if there is anyone in San Diego with a 96=01 Royal Star non-Venture with the windshield, can I take a look at your bike? Thanks, Tim
  22. I have searched this forum and the Internet and have not found a resolution, so here it goes. There are may sources for footboard extensions for the Road Star, but I can't find anything for the Royal Star except possibly new footboards and mounts from Baron. I am 6'3" and would like to extend and tilt the boards, even if I lose some cornering clearance. Any advIce is appreciated!
  23. So my fathe rin law ( 76 shovel head rider) took my bike out for a lil while and he has a few comlaints which I myself have had in the past. the royal star rides a bit rough. having a monoshock with no spring gives the bumps a very jarring effect. he even noticed that the forks were riding rough. I think i am correct that there is no adjustment for the forks. This is the royal star tour classic 96 and there is no way to add air nor have I heard of anyone changing the fork fluid or replacing the rear shock with after market or another bike swap. Has anyone changed thier fluid or the rear shock on this type of bike. i thought It was due to my size but my father in law is 200 lbs lighter than me and he also notices it.
  24. I am new to this site. I have a 08 Royal Star. I live in Cedar Rapids, Ia.
