  2. A great tribute to an Infantry Officer that served in Viet Nam. This got to me. Some of you may have seen this but I thought I'd post it anyway. http://rlhtribute.com/
  3. The winner number for the February 50/50 is 473177. The winner has been advised by PM. As usual, we will not post the name of the winner. However, the winner may elect to make a post to announce their good luck.
  4. I wanted to let everyone know that Toni Knox called me about an hour and a half ago with news of Paul's surgery. He had just finished, after about 6 hours, and the doctors say that everything went well! Please post your prayers and well-wishes here in support of a full and speedy recovery. I know they will both appreciate it... Please also check out this thread and show your support if you can: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45243 Thank You! TERRY
  5. I uploaded our pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/wingriders/SouthernIndianaOct09# I hope others will post their pictures here too. Great weekend, thanks again everyone.
  6. I was at a local TSC (Tractor Supply Center) and they had gallons (128 oz) of Seafoam for $39.99. 16 oz cans were $7.99 which would extend out to $63.92 for a gallon. I know some of you like seafoam more than ice cream (you aint right) so I thought I would post it here. Gary

  10. You probably have a log full of entries about this since I did some experimenting, but I thought I should mention it anyway. On two occasions I've attempted to write a post and gotten the following error, with a difference in the url being quoted. The error occurred when I hit Preview Post. Both were to Wikipedia. If I remove the url string and tags it is happy. If I add a / to the end of the address it is happy but Wikipedia isn't. I can use a string without a / at the end, but not for a Wikipedia page. Wikipedia main works without a slash, as does adding the /wiki. When I add the actual page name it kicks out the error message. Also, the address portion to upload.wikimedia.org was not in my original quoted address. ----------error follows----------- Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/dknelson/public_html/forum/includes/ame_bbcode.php(323) : regexp code on line 1 Fatal error: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Failed evaluating code: ame_match("Post hoc ergo propter hoc", "Post hoc ergo propter hoc", 1, "~/wiki/File:[\w\s.,&;\(\)\^%$#@!-]+\\"[\s]class=\\"image\\"[\s]*[\w\s.,&;\(\)\^%$#@!\\"=-]*>
  11. I thought that I would do a little better on this. After you take the test please post your score. No cheating and taking it again. I scored a 20. http://games.toast.net/independence/
  12. I don't do many post here but have enjoyed reading post and getting a wealth of knowledge from this site. Here is my story. I had purchased an LED tail light from an individual on ebay. I got the light about a week after I payed for it. Tried it on the bike and the running light would not work but the brake light would. I knew that the seller would not give a refund but thought I would contact the seller and see if he had any suggestions. I tried the things he suggested and the light still didn't work. I emailed him back that these suggestions didn't work. He then told me to send it back and he would send me another one. I did send it back with a tracking # so I know he go the light. Even received several emails on why he had not sent the light back. Then when the 45 days had pasted to file a complaint on ebay. I didn't receive any more response from the emails I sent him. All my email correspond was done through ebay. I only payed $32.00 for the light and shipping, plus the cost of sending it back to the seller. So it not like I'm out a fourtune. Just wanted to vent. Here is the ebay member login.... 2009mamasitabrb. Not recomended as someone to buy from. I thought I had the name and address of this person but have missed placed. I will post it later when I run across it. Found the address: barbara galindo 5805 pebblebeach blvd las vegas, NV 89108 Anybody in Vegas want to vist these wonderful people? :-)
  13. I posted the question on the ages of those who ride who are on this site. The youngest was 24 and the oldest was 77, but I lost the record of the guy who was 77. THEN I reposted most of this on Second Gens that have trouble reading the license plates of 1st gens when they wish they could pass them .... ahem .... and NEMO cam on and said he was 77, as did ChaHarley, ... who said he was 16 years young! So ... these two are in the lead as the youngest and oldest for a few more days. THEN I will summarize and post the results. If any of you know of him, or you are the courageous one, ... post here. THEN I'll summarize by 10 youngest and 10 oldest, and groups of 10's inbetween and some of info on wifes/riders on the Queen Seat. Thanks for all your comments and help. I just need this guy's info to complete the list. JackZ
  14. So last night I hooched my youngest son off to the local Horsepital as he was running a Temp of 103. Approached Nurse Ratchett at the Counter in the ER. She looks at me,then looks at son. First words outta her mouth was "Do you have Insurance"? When I indicated YES she cordially handed me a REAM of Forms along with a clipboard and TWO ink pens. After 40 minutes of writing furiously I anxiously waited for her to come get a DNA sample from me to prove that I was a real hard-working American Taxpayer...with viable Income....and my picture was not featured on the walls of every Post office in the Noo England area. Long story...short....Last night was such an enjoyable experience that I am now contemplating capping a round into my left foot and blowing my pinky toe right into oblivion....just to get back to Nurse Ratchett and bask in her warm personality and true caring for all who appear before her. Have a nice day all. Boomer.....who is rounding up the paperwork for his Legal name change to "PONCHO"...And says don't blame me...I didn't post signs with Spanish Directions to the Horsepital.
  15. I used the search option and can't seen to find a poll on how many have the "whine" vs how many do not. I found a poll ref: to how many have fixed the problem, but no one that would give an average on how many bike have the problem. If anyone knows of a poll could you post a link.
  16. Where is the best place to purchase the folding flag poles PGR members use when standing the line?? Could someone please post the web site for me thanks
  17. Reading another post gives me an Idea. Just for FUN Make up a modification for your bike, and tell what it did for you' example, I made a new intake, and no get 397 miles to the gallon. Use Your imagination, and try to out do the pervious post. Gregg
  18. I have gotten to the point that the first thing I do when pulling up a thread is to look at the original date. There have been several that are one to two years old that it appears the poster that brought it up, ran across it in a search and took off again, without realizing the date. This is fine as we have a lot of great threads, but if I find an old post pertinant, I will start a new thread and refer back to the old post. I think this keeps down some of the confusion, even though for some, I think confusion is a big part of their life. RandyA
  19. In regards to my recent thread about Post Whoring, my warped sense of humor sometimes wanders out where the busses don't run. My interpretation of a post whore was merely someone who makes a lot of posts, period. However, after going to Urban Dictionary I've discovered that is no longer the case, and the term has been elaborated on, categorized, molded, analized, and in general turned in to something not so nice. My original intent was just to attract your attention to congratulate you on wining the St Judes fleece auction, and not to criticize, insult, or bring any negative attention to you. I was out of line with my post, and do humbly apologize. Yama Mama is a fine example of the type of character that makes up this "Family" here. She is constantly spreading her joy to everyone and is a pleasure to know. I have never read anything negative she has posted, and am glad to know her...
  20. Hey all, just trying to get a lot of supporters for this. I think that in the forums, if you see a post you like, but dont want to quote it to show you agree with it, they should have maybe a Like button, or a Thumbs Up or Down to show that you agree with them. Just a thought, if any of you have any suggestions or want think this is a good idea, please post in the forum, if we make enough posts, maybe freebird will have to see it! Okay, well thank you for your support.
  21. So I need some info on changing the speakers on my 03 RSV I was looking at the Plok Audio db401 any info on the speaker and install please post. How much better will they sound than stock and are any better? Thanks
  22. I challenge Bongobobny! I will not post for an entire week on the site. This is not including Chat, though I have to keep it going cause mini will be out of town. So from now until the following Thursday morning I will not post or even log into the site. How is that Bob? I have plenty of wine, bourbon and beer stocked up, a baby blanket I am cross stitching, a book to read, some DVD's, presents to wrap, and ok heck I could even talk to Moped. My dog Cooper will be so excited. So what do you think? Can I do it? In some areas it is called rehab! Yama Mama
