  5. Gentlemen, I have a 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale and am in need of the print board assembly for the control unit on the CLASS. If any of you know where I might find one, I would be grateful. Also, I found the post where the gentleman explained how to bypass the CLASS. Please give me your opinions on whether or not this would be the best route to take, instead of continuing to deal with the CLASS. Thank You, Jackie the TexasYamahaMama

  8. Several weeks ago, there was a post in the joke section I think. It was about how as a nation we are doing things backwards by sending young people to war when we should be sending "cranky old men". If anyone remembers this, please send me a PM, or post the link on here. I thought I had saved it, but can't find it and have a couple of buddies I want to send it to. Thanks Don H.
  9. this time , it isn't so good. the lab results on the fluid that was removed from her lungs, had "free floating" lymphoma cells in it. right now they are calling it "lymphomia", because they don't know what type it is, or where it is , in her body. my mind is not working too good, right now, and if it weren't for spell check, ya'll wouldn't be able to make heads nor tails out of this post. just jt
  10. How many VR members does it take to change a lightbulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed. 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently. 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs. 27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs. 53 to flame the spell checkers. 41 to correct spelling/grammar flames. 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb".. 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp". 15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct. 156 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in violation of their "acceptable use policy". 109 to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb group 203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb group about changing light bulbs be stopped. 111 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group. 306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty. 27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs. 14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's. 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group. 12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy. 4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ. 44 to ask what is a "FAQ". 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs". 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  11. My audio system has started acting up a bit. I've been getting some ignition noise through my headset on acceleration occaisionally and it seemed to be related to the mic input to my Zumo 550. When it happened I could wiggle the mike connectioin and it would change or go away. Today it began making the noise again and I unplugged the mic and the noise volume was reduced. I thought it was coming through the intercom circuit so I turned it off also and still had the noise. I'm not sure is this is related or not but I have been having a very infrequent problem with the audio control panel going dead in that the 3 buttons on the bottom will just not function for a period, generally less than 15 minutes. This has happened about 4 times in the last couple of months. The dealer has ordered a new control panel. It seems I read a post recently where someone had some warranty work done on their bike and one of the things done was wrapping the wiring with "RF tape". I've been searching for that post and haven't been able to locate it. Does anyone know if there is a service bulletin calling for that? I'll be talking with the dealer about it soon. DT
  12. i don't really know where to start this, so i'll just post the particulars, and field questions as they arise. on MAY 3, 2008, a group of local sponsors, are going to be bringing about 200, "wounded warriors", down from "BROOKS ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, in san antonio. these guys are all wounded COMBAT veterans, who are in the processes of healing. they will be treated to a day of fishing and visiting at PORT O'CONNOR, TEXAS. they will be coming down by bus, and escorted EVERY inch of the way, by local leo's and pgr riders. EVERYONE is invited to come down and show their support. just pick out one of these "broken warriors",and spend the day "just being there for him/her". or visit with ALL of them. their immediate families, are often hundreds of miles away, and they have nothing to do but sit around BAMC, and recover. our south texas P.G.R , guys will be there to do what ever we can to make this happen , and be a success. . disclaimer: if i have offended anyone , with this post, let me apologize now, and be done with it. just jt.
  13. As I was pumping REGULAR grade HESS into my RSV tank I was asked how does that the 10% ethanol affect my bike. My response was that I do not know. Mine is an 01 and he just got an 08 and was reluctant to burn the gasses with the additive alternative fuels in it. Later when I parked in my garage the raw gas smell had a sweet aroma to it. Today the engine seemed to idle rough or maybe it is my imagination. I would like to open up a discussion here or maybe this is already been discussed in another post that I can review?
  14. Yesterday my Red Knights chapter held our annual Bike Blessing. During the week I was contacted by a New member who had purchased a 06 Black Cherry and during the course of our emails and talks I invited him to come to the run. Ricardo was a great guy as was his wife and whole crew. He brought a few other guys from the local Star Touring chapter. I fear I cost him quite a bit of money as when he was looking at my steed I could see the ideas flowing. MRS. Ricardo got a few nice pics of the Ricardo, Myself and the bikes together and Im sure he will post them up later but it was a pleasure and I look forward to a few more rides with a new Venturerider brother. Ricardo also suggested that he may try to make it to Freebirds for maintainance day so Vinny if you are reading this you and Sam may have a nice couple to ride with there and back.

They are having a memorial service for Mark at his home in Madden MS. on Saturday March 22nd @ 2pm. If the weather turns bad then it will be held @ the Madden Baptist Church. If anyone would like Marks addy, PM me and I'll send you the info, I dont want to post it here on the site. I know that the family would appreciate any friends of Marks to attend if possible. I just want to mention that I have changed the time. It will start at 2 PM and not 4 like was mentioned, getting old is hard sometimes!

  22. Heated Seats I checked it out at the Michigan Swap Meet yesterday. Talked to the guy and said that he does all models and uses the best stuff out there. He had two seats on display so I sat on them and yes they were warm. Felt good if you know what I mean! The pricing was very reasonable. http://www.motorcyclehotseat.com Phone number 248-446-1718 Motorcycle Hot Seat c/o Steve Tamplin 11484 Ridge Road South Lyon, MI 48178 E-mail from Steve: Thanks Al, Checked out the post and the comments. The heating system will only draw about 2 amps, so that should be no problem. Also the heating element will not change the look of the seat. Tell the guy's from your forum that if they mention your post for the month of March I will give them a 10% discount. If I get a few jobs, I'll give you a 20% discount on your seat. Thanks Al!!! Steve

I've been sent north for the next couple weeks for work, and thought some of you may find it interesting seeing what the extreme northern communities of Canada are like. Current weather conditions are: -29 °F A few cloudsFeels like :-58 °FRelative humidity :60%Wind :26 km/h NW
