  1. Greetings ! I am in the process of buying two Nolan N-102 helmets for me and my wife to use on our trip to the USA this coming June. Saves me the extra luggage bringing our helmets from Iceland. I want to have Bluetooth in the helmets but am not sure what to get. Here in Iceland I have the Nolan Bluetooth device in my helmet and it works pretty good apart from that the speakers are lousy to say the least when you play music from the Zumo but I have loaded some music files into the device. Maybe the problem is the transfer of music data from the Zumo to the bluetooth device ?? The GPS and the phone on the other hand has very good sound quality and people I speak with on the phone can hardly believe that I am riding a motorcycle and speaking with them on the phone. Was wondering if any of you have a bluetooth set that would fit the Nolan helmets and has a good sound quality going wireless. I want to be able to be hooked to my GPS, being able to talk to my wife (the other helmet) as well as answering the phone. Is this possible ? Can both helmets answer the phone or can only one helmet take the signal?? Any advice on the bluetooth highly apreciated Would like to avoid going with wire hookup. Friendly regards, Jonas / StarFan
  2. for Riders that don't have music . What do you think ? http://www.easy-motorcycle.com/ruckus-50-audio-mp3-fm-radio-speaker-mirror-motorcycle-scotter-p-502.html?zenid=tiajvfjs364vbt6oh52hvqgah4
  3. I was not sure where to post this, but I thought I should report on my new gps. I took a couple of cross country trips with my TomTom. I could barely see it, and could never hear it. It quit working last fall, so for Christmas I got myself a Garmin Nuvi 295w. Its big advantage is a head phone jack. Which allows me to run it through the stereo system. Price about $90. I also got a mini sd cart ($12) and a handle bar mount from ebay ($14) head phone adaptor ($3). I loaded about 2000 songs. I went for a test drive and it worked as expected. Set the music playing and when it comes time for a turn it cuts out the music and blares the instructions out of the speakers. (instructions louder than the music, you will hear them). It has an orientation sensor, so you can set it vert or horz. ( hope to attach pics). It was there smart phone, and still has some of the smart phone features. It has a camera, (picture of what waits anyone foolish enough to enter my yard) web browser. after test drive: Pros. Can hear instructions. I could see it well, it mounts on a ball and socket joint, so if the sun blocks it out, just tilt it a little bit. Winter sun is not as bright a summer sun, but I could always see it well enough. Cons. Like any thing that does it all, it does not do anything as well. The biggest thing is, when it is playing music, it is VERY slow. Soon learned if you want to change address, first stop the music. It is not a great web interface, but I was able to check my email over the wi fy at my house. The music player is a little tough to get used to, but it did work. Several times it has locked up and I had to remove the battery to restart, since it does work I am assuming this is a software problem, hoping for an update. Camera see attached photo For the money spent, so far I am very satisfied. I hope this helps George
  4. Can anyone advise?? I've been thinking of buying the yamaha helmet headsets but need a question answered first. When the headset is plugged in does the music from the radio play through the headset or the the bike speakers? Thanks
  5. Got live music tonight in chat come on in and join us. http://oldfartradio.com come on in and hang out with us Margaret
  6. Found this while looking at biker sunglasses. The ride on our 83 took us on 66 occasionally back in 02. Good read and music along with some unknown facts about how the movie was made.http://www.mrzip66.com/2009/04/20/route-from-the-movie-easy-rider-map/
  7. If you were and still are a fan of the Beatles, you will love this web site, every song ever written and recorded by them. Video's, and music. Sit back and take a trip back in time................ http://www.beatlestube.net/video-links/
  8. This will probably end up being a "duh" on my part but...I installed the cable to use with a Zumo 660. Everything appears to be working okay, except the music from the GPS...I can hear it, but it is very, very weak...unusable actually. any ideas?
  9. So now that I have Ed-sets and have put some foam behind the helmet speakers,,, the music is awesome,,,, I actually listen to some of my tunes on my GPS. Seems everything good brings along something else to deal with. It's either I'm going deaf or Marca hears too well,,,, I think it's the later,,,,, either way, when I turn on the music she says it's a way too loud and so when I get it where she's happy, I can hardly hear it. So what I need now is a volume control that will fit the 5 pin cord that 83's to 85's come with. Is there such a thing?
  10. You all know I'm an idiot when it comes to technology so here's another one to throw at you..... I bought an IPOD shuffle, you know the small one that just plays music, to listen to while riding behind the hubby... Anyway....I know how to purchase and download tunes from the istore....but... is it possible to put music on my ipod (shuffle) from a dvd? Ex: I just purchased Elton John's Dream Ticket 4 DVD package. The problem is, that same music isn't available on a cd. (Now just so you know how worthless we are when it comes to technology....my son hooked up a surround system to our tv that has a built in dvd player and we still can't figure out how to play a dvd on it) (I'm so thankful I can't see you rolling your eyes when you read this, but I really appreciate your help)
  11. There appears to be no more country music stations in the toronto plus area of southern ontario. 95.3 just got bought out by the same head banging music supporter that killed the last country music station some 15 years ago. It seems like all you get any more in this area is either head banging crap. so called dance music or asian music. I love country music and I love early rock and roll but nobody seems to want to play it anymore.
  12. Loving this camera more and more everytime I use it. Actually opened up the throttle before the music kicks in. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5adtCL1d2oQ]YouTube- GoPro Video Camera New Perspective[/ame] silverdeer
  13. Here is a brain tickler for you. When I bought my RSTD it had a handlebar mount installed and wired. The question is what does it run? I know it must be some kind of music player but what type? I was thinking instead of removing, I can use if I can figure out what it fits. Does anyone dare to identify? Thanks Mark

    speakers

Has anyone changed out the speakers on their bikes so that they can hear the rock music better? Country music you can understand but if you try to listen to anything else you can't understand it at high speed. It sounds like rap music when you are at the speed limit.

  20. I'm finally got myself an ipod shuffle. Haven't listened to music much for the last 20 years or so.... I would like to find some "easy listening" (do they still call it that?) guitar music to put on this little contraption. Does anyone have any artrist they recomend that i could download off itunes? Iowawegian....who's really trying hard to understand all these new fangled gadgets.
  21. Folks, for any of you who enjoy the piano, we have a member here who plays absolutely beautifully. Bob Geresti, username Geresti, sent me a couple of MP3 selections during the holidays and they are just wonderful. I asked him if he minded me uploading one of them to the Chat Room music selection and he said sure. He also told me though that he has about 28 CDs out and that he was willing to offer any VentureRider member a discount on them. For a preview, you can hear Bob's "Stairway to Heaven" in the chat room. Bob's CDs sell for $13.00-$15.00 each and he has told me that he will make them available to VentureRider members for $10.00 each plus shipping. If you like piano, you will love Bob's music. You can find them at: http://cdbaby.com/all/gerestimusic or http://www.gerestimusic.com/

  23. I saw cyote61's signature line, "I hate Rap, it ain't real music it's crap, I hate Rap" and made me laugh about a rap music encounter I had last Friday and I thought I would share it here. While I don't care for Rap music I don't mind other listening to it as long as they don't force it on me. Anyway, I was driving through city traffic in the left lane of of a 4 lane street adjacent to the university campus. It was stop and go traffic and this small car pulled up along my right just a few feet in front of me. There were two young ladies in it, about 17 or 18 and they had the window rolled down with the RAP music cranked up obnoxiously loud and they were bouncing up and down and flailing there arms around as if to be dancing with the music and chanting along at the top of their voice. I looked them and thought what inconsiderate jerks. The sun was out and it had warmed up and the snow melt across the street had caused my windshield to become a mess. So I used my washer and I noticed that the wipers of my Tahoe were flipping washer fluid off to the right of the windshield. After seeing that this little devil took over within me and an evil little grin came on my face. I eased the truck up a few feet so that my windshield was in line with the obnoxious girl's open window. I just had to rewash my windshield and did. But the slow speed only threw the fluid a short way past the truck. So I switched them to high and let it rip again. The girl was startled and immediately quit chanting and quickly began rolling up her window. The light turned green and and pulled off with that grin on my face and the satisfaction knowing I had saved a few motorists from having to endure that noise while in traffic. I must say that that behavior is normally not my style and it will probably come back to haunt me some day, but it was funny. :rotfl: DT
