  1. we talked about having a christmas dinner meet at the meramec meet. it will probably be down around cape jirardeau, missouri. will have a one night stay over. bring your car unless you want to freeze your butt off. need some input on location and dates. i'm trying to get a good central location thats easy to get to.
  2. Moto 400, which is a fairly large motorcycle dealership in Dawsonville GA (and which we've visited a couple of times during our North GA M&Es), has just announced that it is dropping both its' Yamaha and Triumph lines and is converting completely and exclusively to a pre-owned sales model. They indicate in their newsletter that the cost of maintaining new inventory, coupled with decreased demand and financing constraints has led them to this far-reaching business decision. This is a great location with a great staff, so it's not like they didn't take care of their Customers. I, for one, wish them well as they move forward... Habib the Supportive

    E Z PASS Location

Anyone out there have any advice to share on the best location to mount an E Z PASS on the RSV?
  6. I have searched on here and could not find information on the bulb type and location for the overdrive light. Mine has gone out and I assume I must split the fairing but don't want to split it and then run all over town looking for a bulb. Can anyone tell me what bulb type is used for the dash lights. Thanks, Jim
  7. Its in New Hampton Iowa. There was a place there for "The Venturers" and i think that having a special location like that would be a really great idea! We'll see what we can cook up:witch_brew:
  8. Where is the best location to get a good price on a Stebel horn?
  9. Hopefully I haven't already posted this. I don't believe I have. I'm leaving around August 1 for my long ride through the New England states. I'd appreciate any suggestions for sight seeing in your state. Can be an historical location, favorite/unusual place to eat, lake, or whatever. If you have a street name or intersection then great. Otherwise the name will work.
  10. I bought the Stebil air horn & wiring kit last winter. I plan on putting it on this w/e. Where do I locate the Relay? - I mean the physical location, not electrically. craigr
  11. Looking for help on the location of the fan thermo switch. There are three listings in the schemtics (#31,#40,#68). I'm not sure where the location of the fan (item # 31) is. From what I can tell looking at a pictorial drawing for the part location I've found #40, which is for the carb heaters, which is behind the Right cheek panel. Number (#68) looks to be for the ideat light and its location is on the thremostat block. Question is where is #31 located. My fan has never comes on. I ride in very hot weather, but never heard the fan operate. I've been able to figure out the fan works plus the filter by connecting 12 volts to the connectors. So far I've not been able to find the third thermostat #31. Is there anyone out there that can help retain my hair. There are so many errors in the drawings it has become a hunt and peck situation. Any help would be greatly appreashated.
  12. Were you on a blue VR riding southbound through Springfield, Colorado? Was it on Monday of this week? (03/23/2009) At around 11:00 MST? Did you turn westbound on 160? I was sitting in a Co-Way truck at the truck stop when you rode by. It caught me off guard to see a VR go by, I usually only see Harleys or Gold Wings go by at that location.
  13. We were talking on chat last night about the Meet and Eat tomorrow in SC. and said what if we listed the favorite or best restaurants in a directory form listing the type of food, price range and the location of the restaurants across the country. So what do you think, or would it be a waste of time to do. Yama Mama
  14. Well, thanks to MiCarl, I have a working set of gauges. I just need a bezel with lenzes I can see through. It starts and runs well now, and shifts through all the gears (on the center stand). The Computer display is indicating a battery problem and a oil problem. I am guessing the battery light is from the electrolyte sensor not being installed, since I have an AGM battery on this one. The oil light, though, is befuddling me, as I cant seem to find the oil pressure switch. A heads up on the location of that would be helpful. Once again, the people of this site are astounding in their helpfulness, and I think I may not ever be able to say thank you enough.
  15. I have the chrome airdam on the bike (see photo album) and the light are flopping around in the sockets. Two questions, any ideas how to permanently tighten them up (given that the exhaust is really in the way) and two; one of them has a cracked housing, does anyone have a (used)replacement or a location where i might find one? Thanks. Am i correct that there are supposed to be two screws holding the light to the metal retaining clip?
  16. I traded for a 2008 RSV earlier this year. My old ride had a Autocom system(love it) on it which I like because I can use my cellphone, Sirius, but mainly I had the headset equipped helmets(unfortunately wrong pinset for Yamaha system) which saved me some bucks in the trade. I would like to run the stock Venture audio through the Autocom system, but I don't know if it will work, location of the best tie in and if it would ruin the warranty. Has anybody tried this? I searched through the threads and didn't come up with any solutions. Woody
  17. Has anyone here mounted auxilliary driving lights anywhere else but the "normal" location (the standard Yammie light bar setup). If you have, can I / we see some pics and maybe some narrative on how you mounted them? (looking for ideas) Thanks.
  18. OK folks, I decided to start a new thread here instead of filling the contest thread with a lot of new discussion. The contest will be over tomorrow morning and sometime tomorrow evening, I will randomly pick a winner from all of the folks that posted their suggestions. The winner will be determined in a totally random draw and not at all based upon your recommendation for the location. Now, about that. You have all offered some great suggestions as to where to have the rally and some very strong reasons to have it there. There is one thing though that I read a few times and feel that some clarification is needed. There were at least a couple of posts that said something along the order of "we accommodated the members in the northeast this year so it should be in the west next year". Please understand, we didn't "accommodate" anybody. The reason that this years rally was held in Ontario, Canada was based on a couple of things. It was a beautiful location and a great place for a rally but the MAIN reason was that just after the Ft. Collins rally last year, a group of members from the Kitchener area stepped up and said "WE WILL DO IT". NOBODY else made that offer. They worked hard on it and just did a FANTASTIC job. That is why it was held where it was and I have no regrets about it. All your posts and suggestions for next years rally are sincerely appreciated. So, the next step is to find a group of people in one of those great areas who are willing to take the lead and make this happen. Folks, it's a LOT of hard work putting these things together. Arranging a central gathering place, host hotels, campgrounds, arranging for a wrap-up dinner, arranging for breakfast each morning for those who want it, contacting vendors for prize donations, designing and having shirts made up, collecting the money for shirts, registrations, etc. If you want to know how much work it is, just talk to Squidley and his team or Reiny and his team. So, tomorrow I will look at all the suggestions in more depth than I have so far. I saw many that I thought "YEA...that would be a GREAT place". There are enough suggestions there to choose a location for several years. Please don't be upset if your suggestion does not end up being the chosen place for 2009. My decision will be based upon not only location but WHO steps up and volunteers to do it. If nobody steps up to the place, then I will do it myself but if that ends up being the case then you can pretty much expect it to be held somewhere in Ohio. There are some great locations and great riding in Ohio and if I have to do it, it will simply have to be somewhere that I have time to visit, explore and make arrangements. Most likely somewhere close to Amish country and maybe Mohican State Park. http://www.mohicanstatepark.org/ Just some things for you to think about. I would really like to see it a bit more central. I still think that the Eureka Springs area, The Hub or somewhere in the vicinity of Branson, MO would be a great central location but I can't arrange a rally there from Ohio. As always, your comments are encouraged.
  19. this one is puzzling me, since I changed to a new battery, my temperature sensor is acting erratic, I think it's electrical, poor ground maybe????,.... my old battery was always demanding a 16V charge, but the new battery, at idle is around 13V, at that time the temp indicator goes off-scale low ( reads less than zero), as soon as I rev up, it jumps to 1/3 scale, where you would expect it to be....... as soon as you come to rest it goes low again, and from time to time it jumps around 1/8" while riding,....I checked the manual, and it gives the location of the temperature sending unit..... can anyone tell me where the physical location to the ground is ???? JOHN ( or any other thoughts on the subject:confused24:
  20. The wife & I are planing a ride up to the mountains for a weeks get away. we're looking for mountain area/with lake front. Does anyone know of a great location, of where you have stayed. plains to leave home July 13th
  21. Ok folks let's get a heads up here on who's going to Freebirds on Saturday? 1. Who's going to go in the morning and come back that evening? 2. Time & place to meet up for the ride down? I think this will depend on who's going where we meet so I'll hold off on suggesting a location till we see who signs on here. Larry Posted time & location on post #11
  22. anybody have any ideas on a location to mount a mp3 player on the 07 RSV? i'm not going to install a CD player for the mp3 will hold a lot more tunes.
  23. I've had it with my radio on my 83 VR.. I screwed with it non stop, cleaned it and and even replaced it with one I picked up that i know works. The brass pin connections are just too tricky. I saw somewhere on here at one time where someone had retrofitted a marine radio into the same location as the original.... but I can't find the post again.. I know lots of people just use MP3's and i pods. those are great, but I still like the plain old radio for around town. Any thoughts ideas or knowledge on how to put a marine radio in that location. thanks Clay
  24. I am going to install the mic mutes today, and was wondering, has any one relocated the drivers head set cord off of the tank to another location?? also any tips on this installation would be great!! Thanks, K
