I'm getting a CB sent to me by a good friend on the website, but i was wondering. Did they ever make a CB for the 1200's because, i dont think it will mount right. IDK

hello . i have a friend who owns a motorcycle shop. he has a 84 venture sitting there just like mine. well he worked on it durring the winter. i didnt know he did this or i would have had mine in there. but anyways back to the question on hand. after working on it . he has had it for over 5 months and so far the owner has not called or made any contact with him when he called the phone number its no longer in service? we rode over to the address where the man was suppose to live. and he has been taken to prison. for over 15 years? my friend said he would like to get this out of his shop. i offerd him the cost of the work and parts he done on the bike. plus what it might take to get a title.? i offten heard about something called a mechanics lean/ but cant that get you a title? this bike runs well. looks crappy. but for around $360.00 for the work he done. and what a title might cost it could be well worth it?.

Hello Everyone! New Gnu @ the Watering Hole......first order of business......where are the lions?? Gotta keep an eye out for them!! Seriously tho'. I had my trial subscription for abt a week and found so much to offer I felt guilty taking it for free, so dropped my $12 and became a member. Last Oct. I bought a 98 Royal Star Standard from a friend of a friend. I'd ridden before but this is my 1st big cruiser. AND I'M LOVIN IT!! She was well taken care of but ridden seldom (only 6k miles)and the owner bought another bike so this one had to go. $3K later and I was riding her home. Looking forward to getting to know and hopefully meeting/riding with some of you. Hoping for a get-to-gether in FL so I can see some of the other great rides on here in person (and steal ideas!!). I didnt know where else to turn but i have a need to exspress myself and thought you my exstended family would lend me an ear. for those of you who dont know me My name is Ron and have been a memeber here for almost a year and have had alot of fun here and have made some friends forever and hope tomake more. im also the guy who will chime in with something silly to say on no matter what the subject but today i have cried like i have never cried before yesterday (wedsday dec.23) i lost a friend and a co-worker to heart failure early in the day he had just retired last month and hadnt even collected his first check yet Jim was a geat man and friend he spent the majority of his life caring for his mother and she passed in early sptember. we all grieved with Jim for the loss of his mother but he was strong and carried on. Jim finially had found the right lady for him and seemed happy and excited and then was takn from us on that day. that made the office a quiet place to work and if you think your day couldnt get any worse it did i work for CSX railroad in cincinnati,ohio and another friend Paul who is the car inspector and had a history of heart trouble came to work with us as always and as he was running the brakes on or last train of the day we waited to hear those finial words from him " you have a high ball on the air" which means your" brakes are set and there ok" then we were to start our christmas party. i watched him drive passed the office and never heard from him i called and called on the radio with no ansewer. i jumped in my truck to g laugh at him for forgetting to turn his radio on to find him layed across the seatof his truck. i called 911 started CPR and lost a second friend on the same day. i think to myself if i could have gotton there faster or shocked him sooner i would have my friend with me now.... i know in my heart of hearts this is not my fault the good lord has plans for us all and he knows when its our turn to join him but cant help but to feel like im being punished for something i did why would 2 of my friends be taken from me on the same day????? i know better than to question this but cant help myself. im sorry for being so sad on here the day before christmas but i think my friends here will understand. thanks for your ear and i hope at least you and yours will have a good christmas.. Ron p.s. Please remembe to tell everyone you love them today and everyday you dont know when the last chance to say it will be.

I would just like to ask all that knew Stephen and those that didn't if they would keep Stephens family(Marion, Sara, Kaitlyn)in their prayers as this will be a stressful time for them on the anniversary of his death. About 8 years ago, while my son was living with his mother in NC, he was sent to spend the sumer with his favorite uncle in FL, whom just happens to be openly gay. I have met the dude several times along with his long term boy friend. I really liked both of them, they were comfortable in their own skin and happy being who they were. Well heres the rub... About three years ago, because of his behavior, my son was sent to life with me. Through a series of unfortunate events with his brothers, we found out he had been molested multiple times by non-other than the uncles boy friend... And now I know the uncle as well. Needless to say I did every thing I could to try and get these two vermin arrested. I call the police in Mi, NC, and FL. As well as the FBI and The Center For Missing and Exploited Children (who actually did the most to help me) Nobody wanted to open the can of worms that it would take for a conviction, because it would take a multi-state prosecution to be effective. Because he was molested in two states and was living in another. So, now it's 2009, my son will be 18 in Feb of 2010. I get a phone call from a Detective in Hillsborough County FL. The Uncle was arrest for kiddie porn. When they went to serve the warrant for his PC, he actually had a young boy ( perhaps a run-away) in the house and they suspect molestation there as well. So they arrested him ( I now know he was a registered offender) and took his PC in for evidence. Set a 1.5 Million dollar bond. After investigating his PC they now have OVER 200 COUNTS against him. Remember the afore mentioned boy friend? He was already in jail for posession of weed and sexual assault of some type. Well they now have him on over 200 counts of kiddie porn as well!!... 2.5 million dollar bond! It breaks my heart to say it, but my son is part of their investigation of the porn. I am upset as you can imagine. If someone... Anyone would have tried to do something when I made my reports, they could have stopped this sooner and maybe saved some people from having to go through this. But in the end they got their arses. You can go to the Hillsborough County Jail web-site and see the charges ( if interested that is, I have the names) ... Please for the love of your children, WATCH WHO THEY ARE WITH!

For that very reason a guy got smart with me at a light in Bay City Mi. My wife on the back of my bike "04 Venture" and our friend on his Harley got in the wrong lane at a stop light. We needed to get over in another lane if we could. A small pick-up was setting next to us with his window down. My friend was next to the truck. I asked him if we could get over in front of him when the light changed. He just starred at me. Then he said," he can" but you can't. I just looked at him thinking he was kidding and would smile:) but oh no, not him. He started talking with my friend and said because you ride a Harley you can go ahead, but not him, meaning me. I was instantly angry and wanted to say something because this guy was serious and just kept giving me the eye. I looked ahead and told my friend we can go straight through the light and then make a turn and we did. Go figure:doh:. I was still angry at times to day but was reminded of a Proverb "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes" and "Leave the presence of a fool, Or you will not discern words of knowledge". I felt better after that reminder. All is good.

Folks.... It is with great sadness that I come on here and ask for you to take a second and remember a great man, Ron Gaskill. Ron was Lonna's and my neighbor for the last 7 years, today God took him home and it feels like I have been hit by a truck. I had a very strong bond with Ron and he was one of my great friends, I could talk with him about anything. We had the motorcycles in common, as he rode for many, many years with some of the clubs out of Detroit. I can't explain to you how I felt about Ron except by saying I loved him, we were brothers in spirit and I am devestated by his passing. Ron was a member of the Michigan wood carvers club. Recently he has been an intrigal part of canes for Veterans. The group has been presenting any Veteran who served all the way back to WWII hand carved canes. He has also been donating all his time and efforts to making these canes for all. Ron leaves behind his wife Nancy and his Daughter Amanda....Ron was 58 years old. Rest in peace my friend, and I await the day that we can ride together....God speed.

We had this guy that worked with us that was just crazy, he'd go out and drink and just do crazy stuff. Almost every weekend he would come in on Monday with another crazy story. He actually was at a party once and driving his truck and sitting in the window and trying to steer while another friend operated the gas, he actually ran him self over. He fell out of the truck and it went over him. He was pretty boogered up for awhile but eventually was right back at the parties and doing similer stuff. This spring he got himself an old harley, I dont know what it was even tho he came to work a week ago and I talked to him about bikes and work for a half hour or so. I worried about him having a bike but said he was drinking less and knew they were dangerous. I got a call tonight from a mutual friend that told me he was at a party last night and died on his way home. He leaves behind a young wife and 2 small children, So sad and so hard to get these young people to understand how short life is and how fast we can make a mistake and end it.

Wow, these are awesome. Got them put on tonite and man, they really add to the front of the bike. Can't wait to try them out on our way to Florida this weekend. My compliments to him and his friend and the quality product they turned out. Way to go!!!:thumbsup:

I sit here with the biggest grin on my face:big-grin-emoticon: IHTruck Guy told me he was sending something he thought up for the end of my crutches to be anchored on my bike. Look what he got his friend to make!!:clap2: Boy, didn't I buckets when I saw them. Just had to show everyone:thumbsup2:

OK, Lone Eagle will probably get a little miffed at me for doing this, but hey that's life. For those of you that don't know, Vic is going under the knife to take care of a bulging disc and 2 or 3 vertibrae in his neck tomorrow around noon. Being the unassuming guy that he is I don't think he's mentioned it once on the board. Vic's a giver in life... far to few of them... and will be your best friend. All ya gotta do is ask. Anyway you might toss up a prayer or two. One for the surgeon, and one for Vic and Barb. He's admitted to getting a little nervous about the whole thing. I'm sure your wishes will help.

My friend has a Midnight Venture and recently had a carb repair at a local shop. Now the bike will crank and run on choke but as soon as he turns the choke off the carbs start dumping gas on the ground. I'm thinking float setting is wrong. If anyone has had similar problems please share. -
While cruising down the road the other day, my wife asked - Will this bike, (our 07 Venture), pull the front wheel up like our last bike would, (a really built 75 Honda 750). I told her that I think bringing it up wouldn't be the issue, it would be more bringing it back down that might cause the problem. I know I have seen a video of a full dress HD being ridden quite a ways on the back wheel. A friend at work that owns an Interstate says that no way will these big bikes come up. Don't get me wrong, my wheelie days are long gone. I am just curious. craigr

Hello everyone, A friend here in Oz runs a 1500 Goldwing with double sidecar, and is looking for the correct C/T to run on the back of the bike. Would it be the same (Kumho) as the ones' you all run on the RSV ?? Any advice you can give would be appreciated

OK I have this "Friend" who dropped his RSV 2008 BlackCherry over Raven and REALLY MESSED up his Fairing Scratched both colors and gouged the ABS and plastic Chrome Piece too. I know my "Friend" will not be calling his Insurance Co because he dropped it. I'm sure "Somebody" here has been in this boat before? What is this Mess-up gonna cost my "Friend"? My "Friend" has a sick feeling in his stomach he is so upset! PEPTOBIZMO (cherry flavor) guzzled.

I have had him for guessing around 30+ yrs. Sometimes lately he has been a real pain, but I lost a dear friend today. Now I just feel like I have a big hole inside me. RIP lower left wisdom tooth.
