Ahhh, Leaving on a trip Thursday for a few and also next week. I ordered the car tire and the jerks at Tire easy never e-mailed confirmation or answered a phone.....Heck I need a tire so I have to run 60 miles and pay $199 for an elite II due to the time frame. I get home and sitting at my door is the Kumho tire??? Now that's a pain in the ass... With business prep I can't mount this tire (time) and have it scheduled for a morning install locally. I sure liked the look of the kumho and am sure the $199 + Tax tire is going back to the dealer (I hope). I wish Tire Easy had communicated or kept their site updated. It would have saved me 1/2 a day today and 1/2 on the return....Sometimes it just gets complicated:doh:

I finally found an easy way to get the breather hose from the crankcase back onto the air box. Just reached in and slipped it on! No hassle! Tooks seconds! No 11" pliers! Really! All you have to do is remove the rear subframe and fuel tank and there it is! And no, I haven't been into the beer.......yet.

This is not an easy thing for me to do, but I feel like it's necessary. I've already taken care of this with Yammer Dan. A couple of weeks ago there were some comments made in the forum regarding insurance. To keep it short, I took offense and got really mouthy. That's not normally like me. I was out of line and regret doing so. I just wanted to apologize to all of you. Won't happen again.

While we were camping up at Mohican State Forest area by Loudonville Ohio last weekend, the wife and I went out for a quick 1 hour ride Saturday morning. Went into town, filled the tank and went to return to camp. Was going to take a different route and missed the turn so we went further to find a driveway to turn around in. Car behind us was a little close, so I turned into an unfamiliar driveway a little too quick and hit the brakes, just happened to get along the edge of the asphalt and gravel, hit a little loop in the asphalt, off camber to the right dropping away. Went to put the foot down and figured it was too far! Already passed the point of no return, I just let her down easy, the wife wasn't as easy as she took a bit of a tumble (now she knows why I don't want her riding in sandals!), she stubbed her knee on the gravel but is alright. Nothing on the bike but a little scratch on the right rar guard bar down low, tweaked the chrome bumper leading edge just a bit. Nothing hurt more than our pride. Oh well, another donation to the can! Dan

Well great news !! I HEARD the Blue/Black RSV can keep up with that super fast Black mid night Venture, so we just bought one ! We just came home, and found a 2007 RSV thats blue/black, with 8,800 miles on it, for $11,000.00 ! ( Buyer was asking $12K ) The bike was spotless, looks like it just came outta the showroom ! I took my first ride tonight before leaving the deposit on the RSV, and what a great smooth running bike ! Lots of power, engine was smooth as silk, easy to turn, I had to make a U-Turn, and went into a full lock on the steering wheel, and no problem, that bike is easy to maneuver. I can also flat foot the bike with no problems at 5'9" I also heard the stock pipes for the first time, and they have a slight little rumble to them, which I just love ! The bike came with the saddlebag chrome wrap around guards, drivers backrest, highway pegs, and a full tank of gas! I can't wait to pick it up next week, were so excited ! http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_3thumb_550x410.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_1thumb_550x410.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_2thumb_550x410.jpg

Well we finally got the 'real' bracket back from the water jet cutter. with a few little tweaks we installed it on my bike. it works just as i had hoped, easy on and easy off. as we were doing the final install, my friend came up with (another) brilliant idea - one of the items which drives up the cost of this unit is the 'locking mechanisms. he figured we could replace those mechanisms with spacers (would be welded to existing bracket) and provide knurled thumb screws which connects directly to the chromed side fender mount, using the hole already in that piece (it is currently blocked off by a chrome cap). of course this would do away with the security of locking the tour pak to the bike. or the other option would be to use one locking mechanism and one knurled knob. my bracket will be painted today and installed tomorrow, i'll post some finished pics. here are a few shots of our final unpainted product. http://i39.tinypic.com/2dueeci.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/eqv9mv.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/2e36anl.jpg

I decided to take my bike from Houston to San Antonio for a public meeting in the evening. It was 8:30 when the meeting ended, so I enjoyed a peaceful night ride home. Little traffic on I-10, only two cars that I passed. Bunch of trucks, mostly in platoons. More often, there was no one in front or behind me. My RSTD purred like a kitten, loving the cool night air. It was an easy, easy ride. The only bad thing was getting home near midnight, 411 miles on the OD. I had to sleep fast because the alarm still went off at 5:30. And yet, today my seldom-riding friends expressed near shock that I would be stupid/brave enough to ride at night. I've heard it a few times before, and I am left scratching my head. What is their reasoning? All they can say is it is dangerous, and they hate riding at night. Heck, I added passing lamps and LED tail lights so I could ride at night. I am probably more noticeable at night than during the day. I have good night vision... maybe they don't. What do you think? Do you like the super slabs at night?

Do you miss them? Do you even remember them? I'm bet most of us here do remember them. Here is a neat article about Fulmer who is producing them again, including the metal flake "stars and stripes" helmet from Easy Rider in celebration of their 40 year anniversary. You can even get the bubble shields. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-accessories/2009/fulmer-helmets.htm
