I need to get a backrest. After doing a search, it appears to be a draw between the Diamond R and the Utopia with everyone being happy with their choice. I'm leaning toward the Utopia because it's $41 cheaper. Is there a reason other than them being a sponser of this board, that I should fork over more for the Diamond R backrest? Thanks for any advice.

My 2006 RSTD did not come with a quick detach backrest. I bought it used and the previous owner put a trunk on it. It anyone should happen to have one they want to get rid of I would be interested in puchasing it. Thanks Tarl

For those deciding on a drivers backrest. I recently purchased and installed a Bakup backrest. The installation is simple, however, an extra set of hands is helpful to avoid possibly scratching something. The pad matches the stock passenger pad closely and the overall look is clean. Seat adjustment is easy, no tools needed. The backrest is a little pricey, but the quality and look is good. To me, the stock seat is comfortable enough, all it needed was a backrest. I figured I saved $300.00 by not having to buy a Mustang seat with a backrest.

Has anyone tried the passenger backrest in accessories book? My wife would like it to wrap around her a little more. She is only 5 ft 2" tall. Can you still move your arms around with the new one? Any help would be great. Rich

I was just wondering if anyone uses this backrest? I know most of you guys use the Utopia or the Diamond R. I am leaning toward the Diamond R or possibly this one as they seem to be easier to install. Also does the Diamond R come with the pillow top look? It would be nice if it matched my stock seats.....thanks. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=42&Category_ID=32&manufacturer_ID=6&product_ID=15939&related=short

Considering purchasing the Bakup drivers backrest for my 2006 RSTD. They are proud of them because they are in the $350.00 range. About $150.00 to $200.00 more then their competition They appear to be well engineered and have a range of adjustments. Anyone have experience with them?

My brother bought a '95 Kawasaki Voyager last summer. The driver backrest seems "not right". When it's set as far back as it will go, it's so far forward that your butt dosn't even come close to touching the back of the seat. When you adjust forward at all, you're almost sitting on the tank. We were just wondering if anyone might be able to explain. It all looks oem to the bike....

Anybody know how to get the Drag Specialties drivers backrest pivot covers off? The backrest is from a 94 Goldwing and is about 3" to tall. I need to get these covers off so I can shorten it and hide the welds under the cover when I'm done. There's an allen head bolt on the back but all it does is just spin. I'm thinking maybe the plastic ring that says WINGLEADER comes off and there maybe some screws under that. Anybody ever try to take off those covers?

For those who have the Drag Specialties driver's backrest on their MKI & MKII, do you still have room for the passenger? I put one on my MKI this winter and I sat on the back to see how much room there was for a passenger. It felt kind of tight. And I'm not a real big guy around the middle. A bit more that average, but not a lot. Plus my knees felt like they have to quite a ways apart to get around the supports. Anybody have them on their scoots and are able to have a passenger still ride with it in place? Thanks, Bill

I have ridden Vstar 1100's the last several years and I noticed that I could ride much further with the driver backrest then I could without. I can only make a couple hundred miles on the Vstar before my lower back says enough. I plan on riding some three day weekends and try to meet a few of you wonderful people out there on my 84 1st gen. It seems pretty comfy but I have not ridden far yet. Would it be worthwhile to pickup a backrest if one comes available or in your experience, does the stock seat bode well?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=300373641644&view=all&tid=399301566020 Someone mentioned that a Goldwing driver's backrest fit their first gen so I nabbed this one hoping their right. Everything looks identical to the one I had before. Except for the mounting hardware. But I already have that. I'll let you guys know if it doesn't fit.

I would rather sell my 2000 MM Corbin seat to someone here for less than to put it on Ebay so here's it is! I have my tan seat in the classified with pictures listed at $150 but I'll sell it to one of our members for $100 plus shipping. The seat is a bit worn - missing a stud or two - has no backrest but has the slot - but I find it to be very comfortable. The only reason for selling it is that I found a newer one with a backrest that I bought. It would make a great Christmas present for yourself!

Are there no choice for a V Star 250? All I see is black for a 2010. Kinda seems crappy. Or am I looking at their site wrong? And can a windscreen, saddelbags and backrest be added? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have two tan seats for my 2000 MM Venture. One is stock set and the other is a corbin seat without a backrest. The Stock is in excellent condition with 13,000 miles and the corbin is in good to fair condition - not sure of miles. I have the opportunity to buy a corbin seat and backrest that are like new. So, what would be a fair price to ask for these seats? Thanks!

I'M in need of a set of back rest brackets for an 86 model. these are the brackets that attach to either side that holds the backrest in place. any condition. Thanks

Have posted an ad for my Corbin seat with backrest. I am having trouble getting the pictures to link up, so I will post them here. OK, figured out the picture posting in the Classifieds. They are there also now. RR

Good evening, I'm sure this question has been asked before but, does anyone know where I could get a quick release passenger backrest for my 05 RSTD. I have tried most places I could think of other than the dealer(saving that for last). If anyone knows or where or has one for sale please let me know. Thanks Reno
