Well yesterday most likely was my last ride of 2009. It was 34 when I left on my 60 mile commute to work. I'll have to say the GW has great wind protection and I wasn't really that cold. Got up to 54 for the ride home. I had a hard time taking the exit for home The bike wanted to just keeping heading south. Hope I get to ride again before 2010, but the temps are below freezing today and calling for the white stuff soon. Jay

Here are a few things I have tallied up so far in regards to Vogel 2009. Total number of bikes..........47 Total attendees.................79 Number of bikes trailered.......7 States represented..............15 Other countries represented......1 Canada Total monies raised at Tail of the Dragon IV @ Vogel....$1446.00 This amount will be added to the monies raised by Bill Predock and committee at the International Rally and from Brad Newby with Weigh In Pt. Duex. We will be meeting in Memphis, Tn. on Sept.12, 2009 , to present the monies to St. Jude. I will post the total amount as soon as I have recieved all monies. Just placed an ad for a new GARMIN 2009 Map Update. The package is sealed, has never been opened and comes with an Authorization Code. I bought this to upgrade my ZUMO 550 but got a new one that already has the upgrade. First $80 takes it.

Saw this on another Venture site. Honda Motor Company announced its plans for the new 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing The new 2009 Goldwing will replace the industry-leading GL-1800 Goldwing which went into production in 2001. The 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing will feature a larger 2.0 litre (2000 cc) 6-cylinder engine matched to a new 6-speed transmission. Honda claims the new engine will produce 165 horsepower and 157 foot pounds of torque. "This new powerplant and transmission should provide the kind of power and torque Goldwing owners have come to expect" a company official says. With the new 6-speed transmission, the 2.0 liter engine turns only 2,500 rpm at 70 miles per hour. The new Goldwing will increase the safety of its riders with standard ABS brakes on all 2009 models. A rider airbag is also available as an option on the level 4 model. In addition, the completely re-designed Goldwing offers owners lower maintenance costs with easier access to regular maintenance areas such as air cleaner, oil drain plug, oil filter and oil dipstick. A quick-remove engine protector plate has also been added to guard the oil pan from potential damage caused my road debris. The new Goldwing is expected to appear in dealer showrooms in September 2008 and will be offered in the following colors: Pearl White, Pearl Yellow, Pearl Orange, Illusion Blue, Black, Titanium and Illusion Red.

OK everyone the International Rally 2009 is getting even closer now. And some maybe wondering what to expect as for Rides & Route's. Some of the Route's have been posted in the "Rides & Rallies" section for the International Rally. After you see some of these Route's you will see why motorcycle Rider's keep coming back year after year. And one of the reasons why AR. was picked for the International Rally this time around. ColesGrandpa will have more info. & maps for every one to see and check out at the Rally. And for the Knowledge of this area I would have to say Colesgrandpa is one of the best around. Baldwin, MI. Blessing of the Bikes, 15-17 May, 2009. Not promoting this event but have done a Google Search and of course they say 30,000 to 40,000 Bikes and hundreds of vendors (True?). Has anyone been there? Any VentureRider.Org members going in 2009?

I ride in this every year (3000+bikes) very well organized and I've never seen any trouble. People line the whole route watching. Was told by someone watching last year that it took 45 minutes for all the bikes to go by. I get there about 9:30am because I like to ride up front. Plus shorter lines to the food when you get to Shriner's Circus park. It's like one huge bike show after registration and line up. Just wanted to invite anyone and everyone who may want to take a good ride for a good cause. Let me know who wants to ride and we can meet for breakfast and ride together. They have (4) pages in the mag. on the 2009 V Star 950. Nice pictures of the bike. About the only complaint was scraping the foot boards in a turn. Other than that all was cool. This is my first issue of this mag. Not bad at all. I like it. :cool10:They also have the 2009 Suzuki Boulevard M90 in the mag. Have a great day if you want to.
